Sports Announcements:

Baseball player/parent meeting will be held Tuesday October 19, 2010 in the cafeteria at 7:00pm.

All boys interested in trying out for basketball come to a short signup meeting at 3pm on Wednesday, Oct. 20 in the team/ISS room across from the north gym.

Academic Announcements:

For any junior or senior interested in PSEO, attending College part-time next semester – all applications are due October 25 by 3:00pm to Ms. Geyer. If you have any questions please go to the counseling office.

Special Events:

One Thousand Dollars! Hey Lions... can we make it happen? Let's get as many people out for The Stride on October 24 as possible. Registration forms are in the front office, and on "The Stride" display board in the cafeteria. Have your parents take a look while they are at conferences! And spread the word over the next four days of break! Let's do it!

Other Announcements:

On Thursday, October 21, 2101 Jostens will be here to take orders again. They will be in the senior hall from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If any seniors need a packet they can pick one up in the main office or at student services.

Lockheed Martin tutoring will not be here Thursday night for this week only.

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Freshmen, Sophomore, and Varsity girls volleyball teams who defeated visiting Legend High School last night. The Freshmen team handily beat their opponent in two sets, while the Sophomore team battled out a three game victory to win the third set 18-16. The Varsity dominated their opponent with a three set sweep with scores of 25-15, 25-16, and 25-16. Senior, Laura Whalen and Freshman, Tasha Habert led the offense with 11 and 10 kills respectively. Sophomore setter, Annika Hacker added 25 assists on the night. Sr. Sydney Kramcha, and Jrs. Marilyn Drennan and Sydney Fitchett all added four kills apiece. Marilyn Drennan controlled the net with three blocks. Congratulations ladies! Come see the Lions in action again next Tuesday as they host their final home match against Regis High School.

Club Announcements:

Freshman, are you interested in being in the Lions Follies class skit? If so, please sign up on the class bulletin board. We have an abundance of ladies, so we need more boys to participate. Thank you!!

There will be no girl’s basketball open gyms this week due to conferences. We will see you next week on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:00-8:30 pm. Tryouts for girl’s basketball begin on November 12th! Come be part of the pride!

Club Announcements:

The Peace Jam Club will meet today in room 206 between 2:20 and 2:45. International Education Week Planning will be the focus of the October and November's meetings. All students and staff interested in helping to put on this event are welcome. Additionally, information on the Kenya Service and Study Trip will be available. We hope to see you there!"

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity and JV teams for their wins at the meet this past weekend in Santa Fe, NM. The Varsity was led by Kaela Edwards and Melissa White, and the JV was led by Abby Newby and Dana Gaetani. The boy’s varsity team received second place and was lead by Garrett Sapakoff, while the boy’s JV were third and lead by Max Chandler.

Congratulations to the Freshmen and Sophomore Volleyball teams who competed in volleyball tournaments this past week-end. The Freshmen team finished 5th and the Sophomore team finished 2nd place! Michelle Zierk was named to the All-Tournament Team while Allie Horvat was the tournaments MVP! Congratulations ladies!

HIP HOP will be meeting this week and will be auditioning for Lions Follies. Stay tuned for further announcements about tryouts.

Sports Announcements:

Today and tomorrow the Volleyball team will be selling baked good outside the cafeteria to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pink bracelets will be on sale tomorrow. Come to the home volleyball match tomorrow night and wear your PINK to Support Breast Cancer Awareness!!!!

Special Events:

All LHS Faculty and Students, your “Lion Pride” Marching Band will be performing in the CBA State Marching Band Qualifying Competition tonight at the LPS stadium at 6:30pm. Tickets are $6.00 for students and $8.00 for adults. Marching Bands will be performing and competing from 4pm to 9pm. Come cheer on and support your own “Lion Pride” Marching Band. TODAY, Littleton High School is hosting the Colorado Bandmasters Association Metro Regional State Qualifying Marching Band Championships. We will need everyone to clear the parking lots here at LHS as soon after school as you are able. At the very least, please move all cars in the front west lot to the stadium east lot to avoid being in the way of all of the trucks and buses that will be parking in the front west lot.
