Club Announcements:

ATTENTION ALL STUDENT COUNCIL OFFICERS, AMBASSADORS AND GENERAL COUNCIL MEMBERS—Please make sure you get your boxes of Valentine Candy Hearts to Ms. Prestel by the end of the day THIS FRIDAY!! Or at the very latest—Monday 14th in the MORNING! We need everyone’s help with this, please be responsible. And please turn in your Val-o-grams ASAP!!

Last day to buy your Val-o-grams either in the café during lunches or from any StuCo member. Only a buck!

Start the year off with a new you! Come stop by Zumba this Monday in the cafeteria after school for a workout unlike any other!

The GSA speaker series ends today with former LHS student, Kayln Bohl. Come to the forum today from 2:30-3:30 and hear about her high school experience and current involvement with the Queer Youth Summit.

Baseball Is Back! Mandatory player and parent meeting Feb. 15th, 6:00pm in LHS cafeteria. All baseball players and parents need to be in attendance. We will be going over the upcoming season and our next fundraiser.

AP Test Sign-up: Students MUST first complete the AP survey on their Naviance account and then bring to the Counseling Office with full payment before you can signup. Please see Mrs. Zerr in Counseling with questions.

Swim Test: Heritage High School will offer the spring swim waiver test on Wednesday, February 16 at 2:30 pm. Registration is limited to the first 40 students. To register, please call Sherri Rossing, 303-347-7645, X6692. When signing up, students must provide their full name, school, grade, phone number and name of their counselor

FBLA members please plan on attending an EXTREMELY important meeting today in room 124 at 2:20 pm. We will be going over last minute details about districts. This is a mandatory meeting and very important information will be shared about the conference. See you then!

SOCCER SOCCER SOCCER: Any girls wishing to play soccer for LHS in the Spring should attend a short meeting today at 2.15pm in ROOM 133E. You will receive information on Tryouts and Key Dates for the season. See coach Banfield if you cannot attend.

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Boy’s Varsity Basketball team for their win over Castle View HS on Friday night 52-38! Way to go, LIONS!!

The LHS Lady Lionfish finished 7th at the Continental League Swimming and Diving Championships held at Heritage High School last Friday and Saturday. Congratulations to Katie Finley who qualified for State in the 200 IM for the first time!

Thanks to all who came out in the snow to support the Unified Lions basketball team last Thursday. Even the Heritage Eagles with the help of Chris Anderson from the nuggets could not beat the Lions. The Lions mounted an amazing comeback in the last 5 minutes of the game to beat Heritage 77-82. Our next game will be Feb. 9th at Mountain Vista at 6pm.

Don't miss LHS' screening of the much talked about, must-see movie, "Race to Nowhere: The Dark Side of America's Achievement Culture", "written by a concerned mother turned filmmaker who aims her camera at the high-stakes, high-pressure culture that has invaded our schools and our children's lives". The screening will be held on Thursday, February 10th, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm in the Forum and will be followed by a discussion facilitated by Language Arts teacher, Diana Solis.
