Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the boy’s tennis team. They finished 3rd in the extremely tough Cherry Creek region. In fact, they missed 2nd place by just 1 point, getting edged by a strong Lakewood squad, 41 to 40. Super kudos to our 4 state qualifiers: Senior Hoang (pronounced wang) Dinh, sophomores Patrick Gray and Dom Mazzola, and freshman Carver Payne. Good luck to them at State next week.

Congratulations to the JV soccer team for their win over Ponderosa HS and to the JV Volleyball team for their win over ThunderRidge HS last night. Way to go LIONS!!

Club Announcements:

Academic Announcements:


Get in on the action and during Littleton’s College Days and sign up to visit with more than 40 college representatives coming to our school this Monday through Wednesday. CU-Boulder’s representative will be in the Forum on Monday at noon, and all others will be in the Counseling office. Make sure to sign up in advance on Naviance and get a hall pass to attend.
If you signed up for the free College Essay Workshop this Saturday from 9 to Noon in the library, please enter through the Forum door, and don’t be late!

For those honor students who were not able to attend the awards program you can pick up your awards in the main office.

How’s Tony? Come find out when Invisible Children visits the LHS Forum Wednesday, October 12, Periods 3, 4, 5 & 6. Bring a friend and be a part of the movement that’s helping the people of Uganda recover from Africa’s longest running civil war.

Special Events:

Do you sing in the shower or drum on your desk? Do you love making music? Come and audition for Goodstock, a benefit concert on October 28th, in the LHS Theater, to help raise money for ChildFund and One.org. These organizations help fight worldwide famine and poverty. Auditions for the concert will be held on October 11 and 12 in the Choir room at 3:15pm. Sign up sheets will be posted outside the Choir Room and in the Library starting yesterday. Hope to see you and your music talents there!

A cancer survivor from Dillard’s Hair Salon will also be available to braid in pink hair for a donation of $10.00.

Congratulations to the boy’s Varsity soccer team for their powerful 4-3 win in over time against Highlands Ranch HS last night.

Congratulations to the freshmen and JV volleyball teams for their wins over Highlands Ranch HS last night and a special recognition to the JV team for their memorable win in the third set 15-0!

A Lion Pride high five to Ben Schaefer who placed 5th in the State Golf Tournament! Way to go LIONS!!

Ping Pong club is canceled today and next week due to parent/teacher conferences. See you two weeks!

If you need help in ANY academic subject, don’t be shy and drop by. Come by Room 203 after school today. We’ll set you up with a fellow student who can assist you with your schoolwork. Also, any aspiring tutors are welcome to help your peers.

Congratulations to the boy’s tennis team for their 3rd place finish in the Littleton Invitational. Senior Ian Craighead took 1st place at one-singles. Next up are regionals, this Wednesday and Thursday at Cherry Creek. Come by after school. We could use your support.

Congratulations to your LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band and Colorguard for their performances this past Saturday at the Friendship Cup Marching Band Competition. Your "Lion Pride" Band placed 1st in their division as well as earning 1st place in the categories of music performance and music effect. The band qualified for Finals competition and placed 5th overall in the Finals Sweepstakes competition. Go Band!!!!!

Congratulations to Seth Newby, Ben Schaefer, Jack Bredar, Marilyn Drennan, Kaela Edwards and Ian Craighead for being named Littleton High School Athletes of the Month for the month of September. Way to go, LIONS!

Club Announcements:

Our LHS Ultimate Frisbee team will be playing Compass Montessori on the grass practice field today at 3:30. Come check out this fun and fast game!!

Balance and Japanese clubs will merge today and play with origami. Come to art room 143 and join us after school, if you want!

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and General Council members, there is a very important General Council meeting today at 2:20 in the forum—hope to see you there!!

The Peace Jam Club will meet today in room 206 between 2:20 and 2:50pm. Planning for International Education Week will be the focus. Additionally, information on summer study abroad opportunities for high school students such as the Costa Rica and Kenya trips, as well as others will be available.

Reminder to all FBLA members: Tonight, October 3, 2011 at 7:00 pm is our installation ceremony in the cafeteria. Please plan to attend and bring your family. You should be dressed in business attire and ready to take your oath of membership for the 2011-2012 school year.
