Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to the boys JV soccer team on their 2 to 0 victory over Douglas County yesterday.  Goals were scored by CJ Larson and Ethan Hollar.  Goalkeeper Theo Jensen had some outstanding saves to help preserve the shutout.  Way to go LIONS!!

Academic Announcements:

Registration for PSAT test is full.  Reminder for those who have signed up,  the test is Wednesday, October 17th at 7:20am in the South Gym.

The college representatives visiting our school this week have had great feedback about the quality and thoughtfulness of your questions.  Way to go Littleton students!  Making a good impression on these admissions officers will serve you well!  Today, 12 more colleges will be visiting.  And, the college visits spill over into next week another 8 colleges coming, including the University of Denver, CSU, CU-Boulder, and CU-Denver.  We hope you'll attend!  Stop by the Post Grad Center if you have questions.
 
Attention college-bound seniors!  If you are planning to apply by the November 1st early application date to any of the schools on your list, remember that you MUST request your transcripts by next Tuesday, October 16th at the latest.  Please go to the Post Grad webpage, under the "Counseling" tab on the LHS website for detailed instructions about HOW to request your transcripts.

Invisible Children are back!  Blocks 2, 4, 6 & 8 today in the Forum.  (B Lunch Schedule)  Come learn about the ongoing efforts of this dynamic organization to foster peace and development in the heart of Africa.  All are welcome!  Sign your classes up in the teacher mail room.

Club Announcements:

HIP HOP will meet Monday Oct. 15th after school in Rm 212 upstairs due to no school on Thursday. Time will be 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members: We have a General Council meeting on Monday OCT. 15th at 2:20 in the Forum.  Please be there, we will be talking about Halloween activities and will have some "ghoulishly" good snacks!

Balance club will meet on Monday, Oct. 15th in room 143 from 2:15 to 3.   We will be sharing our favorite YouTube music videos.  Come join us and have a fun and relaxing time.  New members are welcome.

Sport Announcements:

The Lions baseball program is starting the use of a new website this year.  The address is http://baseball.littletonlions.net. This new site is hooked in directly with the school and will be the new method of contact for news, email, and text to players, parents, and fans.  Please all parents, players, and fans to go to http://baseball.littletonlions.net/reg/info.php?sid=617  and register.  This info will be stored so that we do not have to ask you to fill out forms at a later meeting; it will also give us your contact info that will be used for communication purposes.

The Jazz band will be performing in the Main lobby today after school.

Big Love by Charles Mee, our Mane Stage Fall play will be on stage tonight at 7:00pm!  Stop and get your ticket at the box office during A and B lunch for only $5.00.  Tomorrow’s show will be at 6:00pm on the Mane Stage.

Do you have a silly talent? And interesting quirk? Or something else you want to show off in front of the entire LHS student body? Audition for Lions Follies! If you're interested, signup sheets will be posted in the Library, Main Office, and Choir Hall. Come show off on this fun evening and fundraiser for prom! See you there.

THE STRIDE is a community 5K and 10K running and walking event coming on October 28. It is organized by the Littleton Foundation to raise money for our schools, and financial awards are given to the schools that have the most participants. Last year LHS beat out Heritage and Arapahoe and we received one thousand dollars for our school. We want to win again this year and we need your help. You can sign up for THE STRIDE online through our school webpage. You can also get a registration form from the counseling office, the main school office, or any of the PE teachers. Get your registrations in now and help LHS win again!

If any of you Juniors and Seniors have NOT attended a college rep visit yet - what are you waiting for!  Today and tomorrow alone we have 26 college reps visiting our school... from Colorado College to NYU to Seattle University.  Be sure to check the bulletin boards outside of Counseling or the Cafe, or look on your Naviance account, to find out who is coming and when, then get a pass in Post Grad and go learn all the great things taking place on some of these campuses!

Students wanting to signup for the PSAT (practice SAT) to be held Wed., Oct. 17, 7:30 at LHS, the final day to do so is Fri., Oct. 12, pending space available, in the Counseling Office.  Cost is $20, cash or check made out to LHS, and you must pay when you signup.   Registration is now open to non-LHS students.

FBLA members:  if you signed up for the Stock Market Challenge, please plan on attending our meeting tomorrow at 2:20 pm.  We have a guest to help us prepare for the challenge!  See you then!

DECA members, there is a meeting after school in room 124 at 2:20, where we will be announcing events for the coming district competition.  Please let Mr. Decker know if you cannot make the meeting.

The women of Big Love by Charles Mee answer that question with a resounding "Murder the men on our wedding night!!" This china shattering, tomato splattering and bone smashing comedic adaptation of the Greek story is a contemporary twist on the classic War of the Sexes. The show opens Thursday, October 11th at 7pm and runs Friday, October 12th at 7 and Saturday, October 13th at 6. Student tickets are $5.00 and are available at the box office during A and B lunch.

College week continues at Littleton with visits today from:

We hope you juniors and seniors will take advantage of this great opportunity to meet face-to-face with admissions representatives from colleges across the country.  Stop by Post Grad if you need a pass.

Reminder Wed., Oct. 10, all sophomores are required to take the PLAN test. Room assignments are as follows:
•    Sophomores with last names A-LEE should report to the South Gym
•    Sophomores with last names Leitzel-Zueger should report to the North Gym
•    Juniors who signed up should report to the North Gym
You will need to be in your room by 7:20.  Please bring the following:
•    Student ID
•    Two, #2 pencils (NO mechanical)
•    Appropriate calculator
Attendance will be taken and remember NO CELL PHONES!!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the boy’s tennis team for their 4th place finish at last week's regional tournament. Qualifying for state  were 3 doubles players Grant Testa and Morgan Reisacher and the 4-doubles team of Ryan Rosnick and Larkin Burbage.  Way to go LIONS!!

Attention Juniors and Seniors!  This week is College Week here at Littleton High School...all week long!  Today we have Johns Hopkins, St. Michael's, Drew University, Wake Forest, University of New Hampshire and the College of the Holy Cross.  Please check the Senior bulletin board down by the cafe for a complete listing of the colleges visiting this week.

The PLAN test is this Wed., Oct. 10; all sophomores are required to take this test.  Please check the counseling hallway and main lobby for seating on Tuesday, Oct. 9.  Remember to please bring a calculator and two, #2 pencils and student ID.  Students need to be in their respective gyms by 7:20.  Juniors who signed up for the test should all report to the North Gym.
