Club Announcements:

Freshmen:  DECA and the DECA store would like to welcome you to LHS!  Come to the DECA store, located in the cafeteria, during either lunch today with your new student ID, and you will receive a FREE Otter Pop.

ATTENTION EVERYONE INTERESTED IN STUDENT COUNCIL, we are having our first General Council meeting on Monday August 26th.  That means, ANY STUDENT interested in being a part of Student Council this year should come to our meeting!!  We will be in the forum starting at 2:20 and end around 3pm.  We are talking about freshmen elections, Back to School Night and of course--Homecoming!!!  And, there will be free ice cream! See you there!  If you need a Student Council Ambassador form they are main office today through Monday.

Are you interested in learning about and raising awareness about international and environmental issues and to help coordinate LHS’s International Education and Earth Week celebrations? Would you like to learn about foreign study and travel opportunities such as the summer 2014 Kenya Service and Study Trip? If so, LHS’s International and Environmental Club “The World Club” will have its first meeting on Tuesday, August 27th in Room 206 between 2:20 and 2:45pm or see Mr. Gordon in the Social Studies Department for details.

 Sport Announcements:

Our varsity football team kicks off the season tonight against Standley Lake Gators at 7 pm at the North Area Athletic Complex.  Good Luck Lions!

Littleton High School Cheerleading will be holding Fall tryouts Monday, August 26th -Thursday, August 29th from 3:30-5:30 in the South Gym. Please pick up an application in the main office and have your physical ready the first day of tryouts.

LHS POMs Tryouts! Do you love to dance?  Do you have school spirit?  Tryout for LHS Poms! Tryouts will be held today, August 23rd in the South Gym 2:30-4:00. Please wear white t-shirt, black shorts, dance shoes, and hair pulled back. Tryouts will consist of dance technique (we are looking for great leaps and turns this season!) and a 30 second dance to be performed in front of judges.  LHS Poms dancers will be announced at the end of the tryout. As you all know the Littleton Public Schools code of conduct prohibits the use of tobacco on school grounds or at school sponsored events.  The City of Littleton also prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from possessing, consuming, or distributing tobacco.  This means that students using tobacco near the school - including on East Powers Avenue - will be ticketed by the Littleton Police Department.

If you did not receive your picture ID yesterday, please come to the main office.  You can turn in any picture order forms, too. 

Attentions Juniors and Seniors – If you wish to purchase a Student Planner, they are on sale at the bookkeeper’s office and cost $5.00.

Fall open mat wrestling will begin this Friday, August 23rd in the wrestling room and runs from 2:45-4:00.  If you are interested in wrestling this year show up on Friday or see coach Burton in room 133W.

In order to maintain an environment where students in classrooms can concentrate and learn at LHS, we expect that the hallways remain as clear and quiet as possible.  Students are welcome to hang out in the cafeteria, outside, or to study in the library.  Students roaming the hallways without a clear purpose will be sent to the cafeteria.   Campus Security will begin clearing the hallways at 2:30pm in the afternoon.  Students waiting for activities or practice to begin after school are welcome to remain in the cafeteria, courtyard, or library.

Club Announcements:

Frisbee Club starts today!  If you want to join the LHS LION ULTIMATE mixed team, come down to the grass practice field at 2:30.  Regular practices will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  Both girls and guys are welcome!

Are you interested in joining the biggest and most exciting club in the school?!  If so, pick up an Student Council Ambassador form from the main office today through Monday and bring it with you to the Student Council General Council meeting on Monday August 26th.  We meet in the forum from 2:20 to 3pm every 1st and 3rd Monday--see you there!!

Kirsty MacKinnon is a Year 11 student who lives in Tarraganda NSW.  Kirsty will be attending classes on Thursday as a guest of EB Bollendonk.  After school, she will be available to talk about her life in the Bega Valley.  Come and hear Kirsty tell you how she loves going out early in the morning and dodging the kangaroos on her driveway!  She is excited to meet you today at 2:30 p.m. in the FORUM.

Congratulations to the Littleton High School Cheers who won first place in the Marching - School Organization category  in the Western Welcome Week Parade.  Great Job ladies!

Attention ALL seniors! You must sign up for a time slot to get your senior picture taken.  We need to make sure we have an appropriate photo of you for the yearbook. Even if you are submitting your own photo, we want a backup. Come to the yearbook table today during ID pictures if you haven't signed up yet.

HEY ALL FRESHMEN INTERESTED IN JOINING STUDENT COUNCIL, we have a special treat for you today!  Come out to the Courtyard (where the orientation BBQ was last Friday) and meet the current Student Council officers, have some pizza, and learn what Student Council does for LHS!!  So, if you want to be a part of this awesome club--come to the courtyard at 2:20--see you there!!
