All speech and debate team members are reminded of the State Qualifying tournament this weekend at Grandview HS.  Non debate events start at 3:00pm TODAY and debate begins Saturday at 7:15.

ATTENTION all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members, we have a General Council meeting on Monday March 3rd, PLEASE be there.  We will be taking our yearbook picture and setting up some new committees.  Plus, updating your lettering requirements.  See you there!

Paperwork for Concurrent Enrollment Classes at ACC for Fall 2014 is due today in the Counseling office.

AP students, your fees for your 2014 tests are due today in the Counseling office as well.

Remember – Parent Student Teacher Conferences are Tuesday, March 4 from 4:00 – 7:00 in the cafeteria and south gym.

Academic Announcements: 

Course selection for the 2014-2015 school year starts next  week:
Current 10th graders, Class of 2016:  March 3 & 4 during Social Studies classes.
Current 9th graders:  Class of 2017:  March 5 & 6 during Language Arts classes.
All CURRENT LHS students will be required to have their course requests inputted into their Infinite Campus account by March 18.  Please see Counseling if you are have any questions.

Anyone who comes to the Writing Center next week on Monday or Wednesday with writing related work will receive a sweet or salty treat! Make your appointments today in the library.

The LHS Swim waiver test will be Wed., March 12 at 8 or 9 am.  Students MUST attend the session they sign up for.  Registration will take place in the counseling office March 3 thru March 11, or when spots are filled up.  Each session is limited to 30 participants.  The test is open to all current LPS students.  For further questions, please see Ms. Whalen in the P.E. office, or the Counseling Office.

Hey Littleton High School parents! Tuesday, March 4th is the date for parent/teacher conferences. Take the night off from cooking, and join fellow LHS families at Merle’s Restaurant in downtown Littleton for dinner. Merle’s will be giving 10% of proceeds from that evening to our after-prom committee, helping with LHS PTO costs to sponsor the evening for our students.  Let Merle’s know you are a Littleton family so they know to include your dinner in the final count for our fundraising. Every little bit helps us to pay for this very fun event at Brunswick Zone. Also, bring your checkbooks to parent/teacher conferences at school. PTO will have a table set up with gift cards for sale, also to benefit our after-prom event. A variety of cards will be available for purchase, from many local restaurants and businesses, including: Target, Il Vicino, Brio, Canvas and Cocktails, The Wooden Table, P.F. Changs, Snooze…. to name just a few! Support after-prom AND treat your family to a night out! Thanks!

LHS Instrumental Music Concert is March 18th, we will be featuring all of the LHS Instrumental Music Performing Ensembles - Symphonic Winds, Orchestra and Jazz Ensembles.  One of our featured pieces that evening is the full Symphony Orchestra performance of the Danzon No. 2 by Marquez.  The Symphonic Winds will also present a new piece titled J.S. Jig that features the music of Johann Sebastian Bach set in a very contemporary way for band.  The Jazz Ensembles will perform a feature piece titled ShowTime! that showcases every section of the Jazz Ensemble. Concert is at 7pm on Tuesday, March 18th in the Theater and admission is FREE!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to our varsity Lions basketball team who defeated Columbine last night to advance to the second round of the state playoffs!  Stacey Zuppa led the way last night with 14 points, Kiera Lindgren and Laura Puchino added another 13 and 11 points to help us earn our first playoff win in over 10 years!
Come on out Friday night to support our girls at Cherry Creek High School as they take on the Bruins!  We are so proud of you ladies!

Attention Current Seniors!  Life 101 is back!  If you are interested in participating, applications are now being accepted in the main office.  We will cap enrollment at 50 students so you MUST be among the first 50 to get your application completed and turned in.  See Mr. Saliman or Ms. Fisher with any questions.

If you are absent the day you are supposed to receive your registration card, please stop by the counseling office.  All CURRENT LHS students will be required to have their course requests inputted into their Infinite Campus account by March 18.  After you complete your course registration online, please return the completed paper copy of your registration card to the Counseling Office drop box by March 18.

We need to pack the house tonight for our girls varsity basketball team!  Our Lions take on the Columbine Rebels in the first round of the state playoffs IN OUR GYM for the first time in over 10 years!  The varsity team has had a great season and we want it to continue!  Come out tonight for the 7:00 start, wear your purple and gold and loudly support your team!!  Tickets are $6.00 for General Admission, and $5.00 for K-12 Students & Senior Citizens (60 & older).  Acitivity Pass will not work since this is a CHSAA Playoff Game. 

Other Announcements:

Students - please be advised that Hookah Pens are considered to be Drug Paraphernalia by the Littleton Public Schools.  While some students may be in possession of these items for other reasons; their dual purpose has caused us to ban these devices from Campus.  If you are found to be in possession of a Hookah Pen, you will be disciplined for possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Current juniors last names A-L will report to their assigned classrooms in the Business Hallway at 7:20 and juniors with last names M-Z will report to the Forum.  Room assignments will be posted outside the counseling office on Tues., Feb. 25. 

TODAY, the University of Wyoming admissions rep will meet with students at 10:30.  The meeting
