Today is an EVEN Period Day – Periods 2.4.6.8

Club Announcements: 

Hey Freshmen ... are you a LEADER?!!  Do you want to make a difference at LHS? If so, Student Council wants YOU to run for a Class Officer position. Student Council members will be coming into your Advisement classrooms today to tell you all about being an officer or an ambassador.  If you are interested ask the Student Council Officer for a packet and start campaigning!! Take a chance--get involved!!

Attention all grade levels!  Student Council is having its first General Council meeting of the year on Monday, August 25th and EVERYONE is invited!!  If you have always wanted to join Student Council, now it your chance!  We will be meeting in the forum starting at 2:20 and we will have some treats for you too! See you there!

Yes, it is true. LHS has an awesome Ultimate Frisbee program. If you want to get involved by playing for the mixed team, come to the grass practice field on Monday after school from 2:45-4:15. Come ready to run, meet new friends, and have the most fun ever!

The first meeting for the World, Green, Model UN, and Colorado Clubs will be in Room 206 on Wednesday, August 27th between 2:20 and 2:50pm.

FBLA will have our first meeting of the school year on Thursday, August 28 in room 124 at 2:20 pm.  Come and see what we are all about!  Treats will be provided!

Ms. Kowal will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, August 28th after school at 2:30 in the Forum to determine the future direction of HIP HOP club.  Please plan to attend if you are interesting in HIP HOP style dancing and want to participate in this club.

Academic Announcements: 

Back to School Night is Wednesday, August 27 at 6pm.  The purpose of this evening is to provide the opportunity for parents to meet teachers and become familiar with class expectations.  Additional information is on the website.

Upper Classmen – LHS Student Planners are available in the Bookkeeping office for $5.

Sports Announcements:

Volleyball – Come cheer on our volleyball teams this evening as the take on South High School.  All three teams play starting at 4:30pm in the North gym.  Good luck ladies!

Football has their 1st game away this evening against Golden High School at 7pm.  Good luck and GO LIONS!

Wrestling - Fall open mat wrestling starts Tuesday August 26th and runs every Tuesday from 2:45-4:00 until the wrestling season starts in November.  See coach Burton in the Science department if you are interested in being on the team.

Girls' Soccer - Any girls wishing to play soccer for LHS should attend a short meeting on Wednesday, August 27, at 2:20pm in room 133E. If you cannot attend please see coach Banfield to collect the paperwork.

Upperclassman - Parking Passes are available the Bookkeeper’s office.  $50 for the entire year!  You will need your Driver’s license, proof of insurance and registration.

Today is an ODD Period Day – Periods 1.3.5.7

Academic Announcements:

If you are at all interested in engineering, technology, or design, make sure that you come down and attend this meeting. Anyone can join, even if you aren't a techie, you could compete in other non-technology events, such as fashion design and quiz bowl! Looking forward to seeing you there tomorrow after school down in the tech lab in room 150.

Boys Golf will play in a tournament TODAY at Hyland Hills Golf Course.  Good luck gentleman!

Catch up with parent’s you haven’t seen over the summer, meet new parents, chat with Dr. Oaks, and meet our new Assistant Principal, Travis Amonson. LHS Cheers will perform, as well as our fabulous LHS Marching Band! The perfect way to kick off the school year! GO LIONS!

Today is an EVEN Period Day – Periods 2.4.6.8

Announcements:

TOMORROW is Picture Day.  Students will take pictures during Language Arts classes.  All students will take pictures and get their school ID.  If you do not have a Language Arts class, please come to the South gym during your off period.  Order forms can be picked up from Language Arts teachers or in main office or you can order pictures online.

TOMORROW will be an eight period day.  Students will go to every class and everyone takes a break from 10:39-10:50am.  The Bell Schedule is available on the LHS website under the “for students” tab.

Today is the last day we will print student schedules.  If you lose your schedule you will need to go to Infinite Campus to print your own copy.  Computers are available in the Library to print the schedules.
