Student Congratulations and Recognition:

Congratulations to girls tennis on their 7-0 win over Thomas Jefferson high school.

Congratulations to the JV girls soccer team for their 4-0 win over Green Mountain on Wednesday. Jenna Silverman with the hat trick and terrific defense from Hannah Peterson.

Academics:

Students taking an AP exam in May must attend a pre-bubbling session on either Monday, April 17th or Tuesday April 18th before school, after school or during lunch in the Forum. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Zerr in the Counseling Office.

Clubs and Activities:

Car crashes are the number 1 cause of death for 11-27 year olds in the United States.  Texting while driving can increase your risk of crashing by 23 times.  Join Key Club outside the front entrance on Tuesday and pledge to X the text!

IB Senior Theatre Company invite you to come see their final performance at LHS. You Can't Take It With You,  plays Thursday 20 April and Friday 21 April at 7pm on the Mane Stage. The show is funny AND family friendly, bring your little brother or sister or grandma and grandpa. First produced in 1936 this show has been making people laugh for over 80 years.The show was entirely designed, directed, built and performed by Theaco 17. Tickets are only $5, what a bargain! Get tickets online or at the box office during both lunches Monday, Tuesday and Weds.  THANKS! See you next week.

Clinics and Auditions for the Littleton High School "Lion Pride" Marching Band and Color guard. The Percussion meet today from 5 - 8:30pm. And both groups meet on Saturday from 10am - 1pm.  If you have questions, contact Mr. Emmons in the Band room.

Student Council wants YOU!  We want energetic positive leaders to run for student council officer positions for next year's council!  You can run for President, vice president or public relations of your class or you can run for a student body position-where you represent the entire student body at LHS.  If you are interested in becoming part of the biggest and most fun club here at LHS, pick up a packet in the main office or with Ms. Prestel in room 2618.

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members, we have a General Council meeting on Monday April 17th in the forum starting at 2:20.  We are kicking off Urban Peak Week next week, so please be at the meeting to make sure you know what is going on! WE'll have ice cream too!!!  See you there

Friday, April 21st is the Day of Silence. Pledge $1 to take a vow of silence to support the LGBTQ community. Tables will be set up in the front lobby and during lunches all week, and all proceeds will be donated to GLSEN.

Blog Announcements:

Take a night off from cooking dinner on Friday April 21 between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm and enjoy a delicious meal at Chipotle Restaurant across from LHS.
 Chipotle is generously donating proceeds of each meal to Littleton High Lacrosse Team so please make sure you tell them you are from Littleton.
Also catch a Lacrosse Game!  Your Littleton High School Lacrosse teams are home that night,  Varsity at 7:30 pm in the Stadium and JV at 4:00 on Grass Fields.Chipotle Fundraiser Approved

The Model UN Club will meet briefly in Room 2609 at 2:20 today. All Students who are participating in the upcoming April 22nd Model UN Conference need to attend.

Lions Varsity Baseball won a thriller last night, defeating league rival Wheat Ridge 4-3 on a walk off by super man Paul Schiebel.  Next on the plate Standley Lake Sat. at 11am.

There will be an important Boys Soccer meeting for players only today, April 11th  at 2:30 in the Health Room (Rm 1329). This is for all boys interested in playing Soccer in the upcoming season in the Fall. Information will be given about camps, pre-season, and season activities.

State Testing starts tomorrow! Be sure to check for your room assignments! And here are a few reminders.
Juniors you will be taking the SAT tomorrow and the CMAS Science on Thursday.  For the SAT be sure you have an approved calculator and number 2 pencils.  You will need to have your chromebook charged and ready to go for the CMAS Science test.
Sophomores you will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday.  For the PSAT be sure you have an approved calculator and number 2 pencils.
And Freshman you will be taking the CMAS English/Language Arts & Math tests on Tuesday - Thursday, April 11 - 13.
 9th graders -- you will need to have your chromebook charged and ready to go for each day of testing.  You will also need headphones and an approved calculator.

The LHS Swim Proficiency test will be Wednesday, April 12th at 9:30 a.m. Sign-up in the Counseling Office. Space is limited to the first 30 students.

For any juniors or seniors who did not get an invitation to After Prom please go to the main office or counseling office to pick one up.

Student Congratulations and Recognition:

Our speech and debate team competed this weekend at Heritage High School for the NSDA national qualifying tournament. A huge congratulations are in order for Avery Zieper and Abby Moses as they not only qualified for nationals, but were tournament champions in Public Forum debate.  They will head to Birmingham Alabama over the summer to compete at the national tournament.  Senior Kelly Steinberg also had a great tournament, placing 4th in humor, and 2nd alternate to nationals.  Great job to the entire team, not only at this tournament, but also for the season.

Your Lion Ultimate girls' and open teams competed in the East Invite tournament this past weekend. The girls ended up tied for 5th after their first win of the season v Lakewood B. Our open team tied for 12th after a fun tournament of hard play.

Congrats to the LHS Track and Field Team who finished 3rd at the City of Littleton Championships Meet on Friday.. Both boys and girls teams finished 30+ points ahead of Heritage and Dakota Ridge and the boys beating chatfield and girls beating Columbine as well! There were many personal bests and outstanding performances. Your 2017 City Champions were:

Brittany Line - Shot Put
Charlie Meserve - 400m Dash
Tyler Woodard - Discus
Other top performers were:
Kaysha Kacanda (Ka-sand-a) who had four 2nd place finishes.
