STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

Congratulations to all 3 girls basketball teams who earned big wins last night over Harrison!  Our varsity Lions won big led by senior Katie Puchino’s 18 points, senior Maleia Holyfield's 11 points, and senior Rebekah Sandstrom's 10 points and 7 rebounds.  Good luck to our Lions tomorrow as they take on The Pinnacle.

ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Today, December 1st is the make-up day for students unable to attend on their assigned day for schedule adjustments.

Attention Junior and Seniors.  A representative from "Up With People" will be here to meet with students on Tuesday, December 5th at 10:30 in Post Grad.  This is a performing arts, global education and service learning organization which is based in Colorado but travels with students internationally.

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Come and enjoy the Sounds of the Season featuring your own LHS Jazz Ensemble after school in the Main Lobby!   Dancing and Clapping is encouraged.  See you there

Giving Snowman is coming!  This very special Snowman is a way for all of us at LHS to give some gifts to the Musana Orphans in Uganda, Africa.  Pick a snowflake off the Snowman starting Dec.5th and buy the gifts suggested on the snowflake and it will be sent to Uganda to give a young Ugandan a wonderful holiday surprise!  Bring the gifts up to Ms. Prestel's desk in the Social Studies office by Dec. 21

Our speech and debate team is in their pajamas today as they prepare to compete at the Chatfield Chill tomorrow. Please wish them luck. There is also a team meeting after school today in the speech room.

All Key Club members - we are volunteering at the Colorado Feeding Kids food packing event from 10-noon this Saturday, December 2nd.  Please return permission slips to Ms. Anthamatten no later than 3p.m. today if you plan to attend.  If you need another letter or permission slip, see Ms. Anthamatten in room 2620.

Come cheer on the Lady Lionfish as they swim and dive against Chatfield. today 4:00 at the pool.

Students, each year, the Optimist Club sponsors an essay contest with a $2,500 college scholarship award. The topic for this year's contest is "Can Society Function Without Respect?" LHS students who were under the age of 18 on October 1stof this year are eligible to participate.  The deadline to submit essays is  February 12, 2018.  Application information is available at
www.optimistinternational.org.  We'd love to see an LHS student win this award, so check out the website today.

Students needing to adjust their second semester schedule should go to the counseling office during an off period on their assigned day. Friday, December 1st is the make-up day for students unable to attend on their assigned day.

TSA will be having a work day in the tech lab after school today, November 30. Come see us if you are interested in the event Fore or if you have a T-shirt design. There is also a mandatory meeting on Thursday, December 7.

STEM Students- Don't forget we are having a guest speaker today during A and B lunch in the forum. A genetic counselor from Children's Hospital will be here and lunch will be provided. If you have not yet signed up please RSVP to Mrs. Bartlett by today. 

POLITICAL COMMITTEE will meet after school today in room 2608.

The LHS Thespians will be holding free audition workshops for any students interested in receiving some input on their "Little Mermaid" audition.  The workshop will be backstage from 3-4 p.m. today.

FBLA members we will be meeting this week on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 2:30 pm in room 1976.  You should have a preliminary plan to share with me about your FBLA projects.  See you then!!

Come support your Lions Boys Basketball team in their season opener tonight as they take on Arvada. Level 3 plays at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00. Let's kick the season off right, fill the gym and be sure to wear white as we make "White Out" the first fan theme this season.

Congratulations to the winners of Lion's Follies 2017! Bella Carlson won best musical act with her rendition of Skyfall, and the Senior Class Skit won for best non-musical act! Great job to all the participants and thank you to all that attended!
