CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

A reminder to National Honor Society members that you have a meeting in the forum after school on Monday, 12/11.

The season of giving is upon us and we want to remember our Veterans and their families. One way to give back to those who have served our nation is to bring in your new, or slightly used winter coats and put them in the bins in the main lobby, library, and cafeteria. Collection started Thurs. Dec. 7, and will finish after the new year, so look through your closets and give to our Veterans.

BLOG ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Students, each year, the Optimist Club sponsors an essay contest with a $2,500 college scholarship award. The topic for this year's contest is "Can Society Function Without Respect?" LHS students who were under the age of 18 on October 1stof this year are eligible to participate.  The deadline to submit essays is  February 12, 2018.  Application information is available at www.optimistinternational.org.  We'd love to see an LHS student win this award, so check out the website today.

Giving Snowman is here!  This very special Snowman is a way for all of us at LHS to give some gifts to the Musana Orphans in Uganda, Africa.  Pick a snowflake off the Snowman and buy the gifts suggested on the snowflake and it will be sent to Uganda to give a young Ugandan a wonderful holiday surprise!  Bring the gifts up to Ms. Prestel's desk in the Social Studies office by Dec. 21.

STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

Congratulations to the "Pride of Littleton" Marching Band for their performance at the Festival of Lights Parade in Colorado Springs on Saturday. The Band placed 1st Overall among 10 competing bands.

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

POLITICAL COMMITTEE will meet in room 2608 today after school.

FCCLA/Culinary Club will be having their Winter Break Party today.  Please bring the food item you signed up for.

STUDENT BULLETIN

STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

Congratulations to our DECA members who competed at the District 5 Leadership Conference yesterday.  LHS took the competition by storm, qualifying 46 of our 81 members for the State Leadership Conference in February.  DECA also took home the award for highest percentage of competitors qualified, with 57% making state, the next closest school was at 35%. 

ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Attention Junior and Seniors.  A representative from "Up With People" will be here to meet with students today at 10:30 in Post Grad.  This is a performing arts, global education and service learning organization which is based in Colorado but travels with students internationally.

STUDENT BULLETIN

STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

A huge congratulations to our forensics team as they had another strong showing.  This time they were at the Chatfield Chill.  The team was lead by Ally Procopio who placed 4th in informative speaking, Julia Valdez who placed 2nd in Poetry, Rebecca Zickerman who placed 5th in Original Oratory, Jack Rogers who took 2nd in Humor, and Natalie Parkhurst, who took first place in Humor.  Great job, team!  We hope to keep the momentum rolling next Saturday at the Cherry Creek Winter Wonder.
