CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The Yearbooks have arrived. If you pre-ordered a book and have not picked it up, please go to attendance window and bring your ID.  Books will be available for pick-up through next Tuesday, May 15. 

Attention 2018/2019 AP Lit & Comp Scholars, please be sure to pick up your Summer Letter & Work List before you leave for summer break.  You can pick this up in Mr. Thom's classroom (1742) or the counseling office.

AP Environmental Science is all about recycling! Please drop your plastic water bottles in the bin, located in the main lobby, this week to help our community action project.

Students, ALL library books and materials are due Thursday, May 17. SENIORS! your library books and materials are due today, May 11. Also, SENIORS, your chromebooks are due Monday, May 14, BEFORE you go to your exit interview. All other student chromebooks will be turned in on Thursday, May 17.

Sources of Strength is celebrating Trusted Adults this week. Trusted Adults and Mentors play an important role in our lives and we want each student to have a chance to thank a Trusted Adult in your life. There will be postcards in the cafeteria, a chance to get creative with chalk art in the courtyard, or grab your favorite Trusted Adult and take a selfie together in front of the Sources of Strength photo wall in the Math hall (room 1608). Upload your selfie with your Trust Adult, attach it to our Instagram handle @SOS-lhs to celebrate with the LHS community.

Seniors, there has been a date change in when Senior shirts will be distributed. It will be on Mon 14th during 7th and after school and also Tues during 8th and after school. We wi be in the senior hall.

Attention Seniors!  After four years of waiting, it's finally your time to do your "Senior Exit".  After you've paid all of your fines and returned all library materials, including your Chromebook, stop by Post Grad anytime next week, May 14th through 18th to do your Senior Exit.  This is required in order to walk in graduation....and it's fun

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

LPS/Heritage High School Girls Gymnastics: Any LHS girl gymnast or parent who would like to get more information about being a part of the Heritage/LPS High School Girls Gymnastics Team, which is made up of students from Arapahoe, Littleton, and Heritage High Schools should stop by the LHS Athletic Department and add your info to the sign up sheet by Monday May 14th.

BLOG ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Head over to Chipolte on Mon, 14th, between 4 and 8 to get an awesome burrito or tacos pius, help out Student Council at the same time! They are having a fundraiser where a percentage of the proceeds during that time will go to LHS Stuco! We'll see you there!!

STUDENT RECOGNITION AND CONGRATULATIONS:

The girl's varsity soccer team won their first round state playoff game last night 2-1 over Palmer Ridge in overtime! Sarah Payson scored both goals and Sarah Gray and Anna Newby had the assists. Congratulations, ladies and on to the sweet sixteen on Saturday!

The LHS Instrumental Music POPS Concert is, this evening, May 10th at 7pm in the LHS Theater.  The Concert features all of the LHS Instrumental Music Ensembles including the Orchestra, Jazz Band and Concert Band programs.  Everyone will find music that they love at our final concert of the year.  Admission is FREE, so come and enjoy

Yesterday at the Regional golf tournament in Colorado Springs two Littleton Lions qualified for the 4A State Championship.  Congratulations to junior Sydney Elder and freshman Sarah Young.  Good luck at State ladies, and go Lions (State is May 21 and 22)!

Our Girls Soccer team is hosting Palmer Ridge in the first playoff round today, May 9 at 5:00. Admission for playoffs is set by CHSAA & only CHSAA & CHSCA passes are accepted. General admission is $7.00 & Student admission is $5.00 with Student ID.
Our Boys Lacrosse team is playing their first round of playoffs at Cheyenne Mountain High School also on Wednesday May 9. Good luck to both teams!

All boys interested in playing golf for the LHS this coming fall need to attend a brief informational meeting in room 2603 today, May 9th right after school.

Any student, male or female interested in the mountain bike club - Meeting this Thursday, May 10th, 6:00 pm in Mr. Montgomery's classroom.

Attention seniors, make sure you get to seminar tomorrow you will be doing some senior superlatives,  finding out information about your last day and receiving your class shirt that was designed by one of you. If you have an AP or IB test tomorrow morning you'll be getting your information from your test proctor and t-shirts will be available Friday during 8th and after school and Monday the 14th during 7th and after school thanks

Congrats to the following top 5 finishers at the League Track meet on Friday and Saturday! Gabbie Burnette 5th Place 100m Dash. Brittany Line 5th Place Discus.
Charlie Meserve- Boys 4x8 5th Place, 4th Place 400m Dash Boys 4x2, and 4x4 4th Place. 3rd Place (all-league honorable mention)Christian Sapakoph, 800m Run. Trevor McMillian High Jump, Charlie Meserve Pole Vault League Champions (1st team all-league)Brittany Line Shot Put, Trevor Stutzman Pole Vault.

Girls Ultimate Frisbee team placed 5th in their State tournament last weekend. They won 4 out of their 7 games. They have had a fun season and will be sad to see the seniors go. Thanks to all the girls and their Coach, Rosie!

Food will be served!

Tryouts for our LHS Spirit Squad will be next week! There is a mandatory parent meeting today, May 7th, at 5:30 in Rm. 1329. Tryouts will take place on Thursday, May 10th and Friday, May 11th from 3:30-5:30 in the North Gym. Anyone interested in trying out needs to have a current physical on file with the athletic office.

BLOG ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 I am Jackie Farrell, Jim Farrell's wife, and I am doing a KEEP Collective Jewelry fundraiser for LHS alums, Mike Ahlstrand, his sister, Rachel also is from LHS, but more specifically for Mike's little boy, Toby, who was just recently diagnosed with Leukemia.  As you can imagine, the medical bills are steep, and it really has been such a blow to their family. Rachel and Mike were active upstanding students at LHS and were also quite active in Choir and Band.The fundraiser is open through this Sunday evening, closing at 11:00 pm.  Please visit the facebook event page here:
