STUDENT BULLETIN
All students -- please mark your calendars with this change. We will have an extended Seminar on Wednesday, February 12th. The bell schedule will be posted when we get closer.

It’s time to get your groove on LHS! The Winter Dance will be next Friday, yes, it’s Friday this year, on February 7th from 8:00 -11:00 pm in the South Gym. Honoring the Decades theme this year, spirit week will kick off with Hippie Day on Monday, then on to Twin Day on Tuesday, We Wear Pink on Wednesday, Bikers on Thursday, and Class Shirt Day on Friday. Students are welcome to dress in theme attire or in semi-formal wear; all must be dress code appropriate. Tickets will go on sale starting Monday, February 3rd, in the front lobby, near attendance for both lunches each day and before and after school on Thursday and Friday. Tickets are $8 pre-sale or $10 at the door. Students must bring a school ID to the dance. Guest forms are also available in Student Services and must be handed in by Thursday, February 6th.

A temporary password will be sent to your school email. When you log into Naviance with the temporary password, it will prompt you to create a new 10 character password and to confirm. If you have any questions or problems, please come to Post Grad for help.

The deadline to purchase a yearbook is rapidly approaching. Please pre-order your copy by February 1st through the bookkeeper or online through Infinite Campus. Not sure if you bought a book? Go check the list in the senior hallway to be sure you get a copy. We will have a limited number of extra books for sale at the end of the year, but if you want to guarantee your copy and save money- you must pre-order.

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Come see LHS theatre students perform in a special fundraising performance known as Miscast! Students will perform selections of music and theatre in roles they would never actually be cast in. One night only, today, January 31st, at 7:00 pm. Tickets are pay what you can at the door, and all proceeds will be used to update the lighting in the LHS auditorium. We hope to see you all there!

STEM students- if you are signed up to attend the National Renewable Energy Lab field trip next week please get your signed permission slip turned into Mrs. Bartlett-Mogg by today.

Boy's Ultimate Frisbee will be having a call out meeting on Monday after school in room 1311 for information regarding the spring season. Players of all skills and abilities are encouraged to attend!

Student Council Exec Board members, we have a meeting this Monday at 7:45 am in room 2619.

General Student Council members, there is a meeting next Tuesday at 7:45 am in the Forum. You will be receiving envelopes for Val-O-Grams, please plan to attend.

Veteran members of our speech and debate team will assemble and head down to Colorado Springs this afternoon to compete at the Thor's Hammer Challenge at Discovery Canyon Campus. This is an Avengers-themed tournament, and if we don't come back with any infinity stones, we at least plan to take home some trophies. As they say in The Avengers, "whatever it takes.”

All students interested in applying for yearbook and newspaper- your applications are due today, at 3:30 pm. Please leave applications at either the desks of Mrs. Chase or Mrs. Fisher in the language arts office.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Come out to cheer on your LPS hockey team tonight when they take on Denver East at Big Bear at 5:15 pm and on Saturday night for their home game against Kent Denver at South Suburban at 6:30 pm.

Attention all junior and senior boys: Want to dance with the LHS Lionettes at the winter dance assembly? Join Boy Poms! We will have practices to learn a fun and easy dance on February 4th and 6th from 4-5 PM in the cafeteria. All participants must be at both practices and have a current physical on file to perform at the assembly on February 7th. Snacks will be provided at practices. Let a Lionette team member know if you are interested. See you there!

Congratulations to the Lions girls basketball team for their 77-45 victory over Battle Mountain last night. The Lions were led by senior Susie Puchino with 11 points and 6 steals, senior Ellie Fuchs added 10 points, and fellow seniors Brooke Wolanin and Mackenzie Schwartz each had 9 points point as well. We need you to pack the house tomorrow night as the team takes on Standley Lake in a big-league matchup at 7:30 pm. Hope to see you there!

Calling all Lions, we have a challenge for you! How full can you pack the LHS gym to cheer on your varsity girls basketball team this week? Come out and cheer on your team tonight as they take on Battle Mountain at 6:00 pm and Wednesday night at 7:30 pm vs. Standley Lake. Be sure to be there, wear your purple and gold, and cheer on your Lions to victory! Lions, can you pack the house?

Your LPS Ice Hockey team had another great weekend of hockey. On Friday night, the game ended in a hard-fought tie against Kent with a score of 3-3. On Saturday, they had an impressive victory of 7-2 over Castle View. This weekend they play Denver East on Friday night at Big Bear at 5:15 pm and Kent Denver at home at South Suburban at 6:30 pm.
