All Current National Honor Society members- Your sponsors, Ms. A-B and Mr. Puchino, will be sending out an email this week regarding our upcoming election of officers for the 20-21 school year. We will be holding elections virtually.
Potential new members will be notified of their eligibility and will be encouraged to apply for membership by the middle of September with applications due at the end of September.

An important message for Seniors: Many of you are already beginning the process of applying to college. Please familiarize yourself with the processes of requesting teacher letters of recommendation as well as transcripts. Specific instructions are provided on the welcome page of Naviance. Now is a great time to update your list of colleges that you are interested in. Please don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Reimers or Ms. Walker in Post-Grad if you have questions or need help with anything. We will begin our one-on-one Senior Meetings in mid-September. The process will be the same as last spring for your Junior Meeting EXCEPT this fall meetings will be held virtually using Google Meet. More info to come!

Attention Juniors & Seniors: College Admissions Rep visits are going virtual this year! Don’t miss out on opportunities to connect with the admissions counselors who will be reviewing your applications and learn valuable information about various colleges and universities. Also, new this year – many reps will be scheduling virtual visits after school hours so that you don’t have to miss class. Virtual sessions will be held via Google Meet. Students must sign up for college visits on Naviance 24 hours in advance, as the meeting link will be sent out the morning of the visit. To sign up, click the "Colleges I'm Thinking About" link and look in the left-hand column of the page under "College Visits." The first visits take place the week of September 7, so please visit Naviance to see the rapidly increasing list of schools that are interested in you!

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Students, SAC, or the School Accountability Committee, is looking for two student members. This committee, which includes teachers, parents, students, and staff, meets once a month after school. SAC supports our school improvement efforts, and it's a great way to learn more about what LHS is all about. Past students have enjoyed this opportunity! If you are interested, go to the SAC page on our website and complete the self-nomination form. They are due Friday, Sept. 4th. If we have more than students apply, we will pull two names out of a hat. It's that easy! Thank you!

If you have not picked up your school supply pack yet, please stop by the main office to pick it up.

Our Gay-Straight Alliance (or GSA) will begin meeting virtually along with other clubs in September. We will begin in-person meetings when LHS clubs and activities begin. Contact Ms. A-B or Ms. Lindly (in counseling) with any questions and check out future announcements about when and how to join us soon!
