Lions, a few Health & Safety Reminders for this School Year:

One Way Halls-Students must follow the directional signs in our LHS hallways during all passing periods.

Lanyard/IDs-All students and staff are to wear their LHS lanyards with IDs while in the building. Lanyards should be worn around the neck, not put in a pocket or hanging from a backpack

Blue/Orange Cohorts-Students must follow their assigned blue/orange cohort days and are not allowed on campus during the school day on their "virtual" days. On days students are learning from home, they cannot meet with teachers, drop off items, come for lunch, etc. during school hours.

Student Restroom Use-All students must remain socially distant in the restrooms and wear masks at all times. No hanging out to visit with friends. And remember to wash your hands!

Seniors! Bettinger Photography will be here today to take FREE senior photos of every senior. If you have an even period language arts class, you will be pulled from that class to take your photo. If not, you will be pulled from a different class during your even in-person learning day. A full schedule of senior photos is posted outside the yearbook room in the back of the library. Please see Ms. Fisher with any questions.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:
There will be a virtual season preview meeting for the Girl's Swim & Dive Team on Monday, November 2nd, at 7 PM. The link to join the meeting is https://meet.google.com/peh-tviw-uzw. We hope to see everyone there!

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Key Club, Please come and make a Halloween decoration outside room 2620 any time on your in-person day today! We also have a few spots left for the in-person meeting next Tuesday. Sign up on the Key Club website, and remember you will need a signed waiver to participate.

Lions, get ready for Spirit Week next week, Oct. 26-30th! Mon/Tuesday wear your class t-shirt and mask; Wednesday - take your pet to school day in costume; Thurs/Friday - dress up in costume for the costume contest! Get in the Halloween Spirit next Monday, October 26, and Tuesday, October 27, by participating in the pumpkin carving contest! This contest will most likely be held in the courtyard, but participants should meet right after school in the Cafe. Supplies will be provided, so you only have to bring your pumpkin design skills! Hope to see you there.

Attention STEM students, our first virtual guest speaker STEM lunch, will be next Wednesday, October 28th, during both A and B lunch. We will be joined by former LHS student and School of Mines graduate Lindley McCrary. Please see your email for more information and to sign up.

Demonstrate financial need (annual household income no greater than $70,000)

Possess excellent leadership skills, an ability to persevere through difficult circumstances, and a strong interest in and commitment to their community

Daniels Fund Scholarship: Deadline November 15

A four-year renewable scholarship which pays up to $25,000 of unmet need and can be used at any college or university in the United States.
Eligibility Criteria:

Be a high school senior graduating from a school in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming

Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States

The applicant’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must have an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $85,000 or less

Earn a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 in high school (on an unweighted 4.0 scale)

Earn a minimum SAT Math score of 490 and a minimum Evidence-Based Reading & Writing score of 490, or a minimum ACT score of 18 in each category (writing score not required). Super scoring is not accepted.

For students who were unable to take the SAT or ACT due to COVID-19 cancellations, they are eligible to apply with a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.3 in high school (on an unweighted 4.0 scale), and do not need to provide standardized test scores.

CONGRATULATIONS:
Littleton Distance closed out its 2020 season with a year-end celebration held in the Stadium. More than 20 athletes earned letters for their outstanding performances in this COVID-influenced season. Special awards went to McAllister Stewart and Evan Moore – Most Valuable Runner, McKenzie Pullar, and Dan Lamey – Most Improved, and Anika Bagal and Luke Suro – Rookie of the Year. Rylee Berger and Cooper Brown each received the Lion Heart Award, recognizing their unmatched sportsmanship, ongoing positive representation within the sport and school, and exceptional support of the team and its members. We wish Evan Moore good luck at State in Colorado Springs this weekend!
