Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to our Baseball JV boys who beat Palmer Ridge Wednesday night 9-8, and our Varsity beat Vista Ridge 26-1.

Club Announcements:

To all Student Council officers, ambassadors and General Council members-we have a GenCo meeting on Monday April 4th in the forum starting at 2:20!! We will be done pretty quickly, so you can get to your sports practices, but we NEED YOU THERE! We only have a couple of meetings left, so they are all very important—thanks! See you there-

Zumba will be on Monday in the cafeteria after school. Hope to see you there!

Colorguard clinics and auditions are coming up! Colorguard marches with the band and compliments the music they play through the use of color, body movement and equipment such as flags, rifles and sabers. If you would like to be part of this group, please come join us at clinics. You don’t need any experience and we welcome guys and girls! Clinics will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 4th, 5th and 6th from 3:45-5:15 out in front of the school. Please contact Lori Nichol at 303-347-3580 or Mr. Emmons for more information. Attention all students, a new club has come to our hall and its name is Hybrid! If you feel like you need to be tutored or you would like to tutor, come to room 205 at 2:30, after school every Tuesday. In addition to tutoring, Hybrid will be a platform for new activities—as decided by club members. Everyone is strongly encouraged to join. There will be free food and lots of fun, so come and check-out what our club is all about!

Sports Announcements:

Basketball players, there will be a brief, mandatory meeting on Wednesday, April 6th in Room 133E at 2:20. Coach Williams will discuss plans for our summer basketball activities. See you all there.

Summer School: Summer school brochures are now available in the counseling office and online at Arapahoe Community College. Students must complete the two-sided application that includes a counselor’s and/or principal’s signature, and pay with a credit card or check directly to ACC. Registration for all LPS students begins April 4. For further information, stop by the counseling office.

Attention All Juniors! ACT requires all Juniors to have a “pre-bubbling” session. Sessions will be held in the Forum on Monday, April 4. Please check in with your 1st, 3rd, or 7th period teacher and they will dismiss you to come to the Forum. Listen carefully! You are to come only during your specific assigned time!

AP Late sign-up: The absolute final date for registering and paying for AP classes is Wed., April 13 at 12 Noon in the Counseling Office. Students signing up now will have to pay the $95 per test fee plus the $50 per test late fee. Students must first complete their survey on their Naviance account and bring a printed copy with them when registering.

Guest forms for Prom are available at student services! They will be due April 21, 2011.

Congratulations Boys Lacrosse Varsity team for the 13-1 Win against Ridgeview Academy. Varsity plays Arapahoe on Saturday at 1PM for their opening home game. Come support the team!

4-1 victory. Great job out there guys!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the LHS Speech and Debate team members who competed at the State Championships last weekend. Joe Ste Marie, Tres Pittman, and Daniel Thomas all advanced to the elimination round, and Reine Ibala finished 3rd in the state in LD Debate, while Hanna Le finished state runner-up in Oratory.

Way to go LIONS!

Congratulations to the girls track team for their outstanding performance on Saturday at the Runner’s roost invitational. The 4x400 team made up of Kaela Edwards, Grace Brittan, Rosa Hardarson and Dana Gaetani set a new meet record, and Kaela Edwards also set a meet and school record in the 800 meters.

Congratulations to the boys track team for the effort on Saturday at the Runner’s roost invitational. The 4x400 team made up of Michael Arterburn, Jack Robb, Dillon Summerville and Tevin Tyson placed first in a tough field.
