SOPHOMORES: Do you LOVE Littleton? Are you eager to share your school spirit? Do you remember what it was like to “shop” for high schools when you were in 8th grade? Then apply to be a LION CUB SHADOW HOST! Pick up an application in the counseling office and return it by Thursday, August 30. Questions: Mrs. Stulock in the IB department.

Club Announcements:

ATTENTION ALL FRESHMEN!! Do you want to join the largest and BEST club in the school?!  Then run for a Student Council Officer Position!  You can be Class of 2016 President, Vice President or Public Relations Officer!  Pick up a packet from a Student Council member in your 9th grade Social Studies class, the main office, or from Ms Prestel in the Social Studies office.  WE WANT YOU!

Attention all students--if you are interested in being in Student Council but did not want to be an Officer, you can be an AMBASSADOR!!  Pick up an Ambassador form in the main office and turn it in to Ms. Prestel's mailbox or her desk in the Social Studies office.  Thanks!

ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN BEING IN STUDENT COUNCIL--we are having our First General Council meeting on Monday August 27th at 2:20 in the forum.  We will be talking about freshmen elections, ambassador selections, Homecoming theme and activities and much, much more--PLUS popcicles will be served-YUM!  So, if you want to be a part of increasing school spirit at LHS, come and join Student Council!!  See you Monday.

Welcome back students.  Looking for a fun, casual club to join.  Consider Philosophy Club.  If you like to think about stuff, argue your point of view, and hear cool, new ideas, this may be the club for you.  Our first meeting will be Thursday, August 30, 2012.  Stay tuned for more details.

Sports Announcements:

Do you have school spirit?  Would you like to represent the spirit of LHS?  If so, one of the LHS spirit squads may be for you! Cheer & Pom tryouts will be held today from 2:30-4:30 in the South Gym.  Hope to see you there!

Attention Girl Soccer Players!  Any girls interested in playing soccer for LHS next Spring should attend a short meeting on Wednesday, August 29th at 2.20pm in room 133E. You will receive information on preseason, indoor soccer, and training dates. See coach Banfield if you are unable to attend.

Any boy interested in going out for Boy’s basketball this winter, please attend a mandatory meeting Thursday 8/30 at 2:20pm in room 121. See Coach Ellis with questions.

Special Events:

The Fall theater show this year is Big Love by Charles Mee. If you would like to audition, please attend an informational meeting on WEDS 29 AUG after school in room 146. If you cannot attend, please see kmart or check the callboard for more information. Auditions will be on 5 September.

The LHS Choirs will be singing the National Anthem at the Wednesday, September 12th, Rockies vs. Giants game at Coors Field.  If you would like to support the choirs and enjoy a Rockies game you can buy a $32 ticket for only $24.  See the LHS Bookkeeper or Mr. Farrell to buy tickets.

Other Announcements:

Seniors! Today is the last day that pictures will be taken on campus. Many of you already have signed up for a time and over 100 seniors were photographers yesterday. However, if you were unable to attend your photo time yesterday or you forgot to sign up, please stop by the main lobby today and we will work you into the scheduled today. Thank you! Stop by at 5:30 and spend a little time with fellow LHS parents, and then head over to the football game at 7:00 to cheer on our team! A great way to catch up with old (and new) friends, and see our football team in action, all within a few hours time frame! Students:  You may notice that you have an "Empty" period on your schedule.  This period is what Littleton High School refers to as an "academic period."  We encourage you to use this time to complete homework assignments, seek help from teachers or peer tutors in the counseling office and do preparatory work for upcoming classes. We further encourage you to use the library or cafeteria as study areas.

Our first HIP HOP meeting will take place today @ 2:30 p.m. in the Forum.  Hope to see you there!

If you like to run, want to meet friends, and have fun...check out the LHS Ultimate frisbee team!  This school sponsored club sport welcomes both girls and guys. We will meet this Thursday at 2:30 down on the grass.

It's here, the meeting you have been waiting to hear about! Technology  Student Association (TSA)  is having their first meeting of the year, today in the technology lab downstairs in room 150.  We will begin at 2:20 and be finished by 3pm.  Come check out the state champion club and see if it's a fit for you.  See Mrs. Wilkins with questions otherwise we will see you there.

LHS' Improv club will be starting back up this fall on Monday, August 27th after school. We will be welcoming LHS Improvables alumni Jeff Garland who will be teaching and playing improv games with students. See Genoa Martin if you need more information, the club will meet on stage.

STUDENT BULLETIN


Welcome to the first day of school for 2012-2013! 
Today is an ODD period day, Periods 1.3.5.7

 Attention all students – Please review the dress code in the LPS Code of Conduct booklet found online at www.littletonpublicschools.net .  The dress code will be strictly enforced!

Attention Seniors! If you still need to sign up for a senior picture session, please sign either today or tomorrow. The signup sheet is located on the activities bulletin board outside of the Language Arts/Math office. You will also have an opportunity to sign up for a session on Wednesday during school pictures.
