Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the boys JV soccer team for their shut out against Thornton yesterday by a score of 2 to 0.  Goals came from CJ Larson and Jesus Serrano.

Led by Junior Patrick Gray's scintillating 3 set victory at #1 singles, the varsity tennis team won another tense match, 5-2 over Rock Canyon.  And the JV continued their undefeated season with a 4-4 tie against the same Continental League rivals.

Academic Announcements:

If you are a freshman and you have advisement on your schedule for periods 2, 4, 6, or 8 you will go class today.  See signs outside the Counseling office if you do not know which room you are assigned.  


For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here beginning this coming Tuesday, September 4th and will be here every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107 throughout the school year.  Please use the forum entrance.

Hey, Lions!!  If you are curious about the wonderful clubs here at LHS, please stop by the main office or the counseling office for a list of club and activity choices.    If you join a club that does NOT meet on Monday or Thursday, you will NOT be excused from your sports team or 9th hour class to go to that club. You will need to manage your time so you can participate in the club of your choice as well as in your committed extracurricular activities.   Have fun!

Attention girls basketball players, open gyms are back!  If you are interested in playing this winter, this is a great way to work out and get ready for the season.  The open gyms will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings here at LHS from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.  We hope to see you there!

The LHS Choirs will be singing the National Anthem at the Wednesday, September 12th, Rockies vs. Giants game at Coors Field.  If you would like to support the choirs and enjoy a Rockies game you can buy a $32 ticket for only $24.  See the LHS Bookkeeper or Mr. Farrell to buy tickets.

If you pre-purchased a school directory and did not pick up your copy at Back To School night, you can now pick it up in the LHS main office until Friday, September 14th.  Additional directories are for sale for $10 while supplies last.

Blog Announcements:

Thanks to everyone who helped support the Second Annual Back-to-School FUNraiser! The LHS Marching Band was there to greet guests, and the LHS POMS provided additional entertainment. The weather was perfect, and the poolside location was a nice way to end summer and celebrate the beginning of another school year. Best of all, we have raised more than half the goal of $10,000 for a completely new, and much needed, sound and presentation system for the LHS theater. Anyone still wanting to contribute can do so; all donations are very much appreciated (attention LHS PTO FUNraiser). Thanks again to everyone who has helped support this much needed improvement for our school!

In a dynamic display of 'never say die,' the varsity tennis team overcame a 0-3 deficit to beat Castle View 4-3.  And the JV Boys won their second straight match 10-2.  Come see the 2012 tennis players on Thursday against Rock Canyon.  Way to go, LIONS!

Last year, the Adventure Ed Club learned about team building, played in the snow with cross country skis, snowshoes, and sleds, hiked Matthews Winters Park & Red Rocks and put on a teambuilding icebreaker for the LHS staff.  Attend a short informational club meeting today at 2:30 in Room 105. If you cannot attend and have interest, see Mr. Vanoni or Ms. Davis.

Congratulations to our Lion Pride Marching band with a 3rd place win at the Colorado State Fair on Saturday, August 25th and to our Lion Pride Color Guard for their 1st place win!! Way to go, LIONS!!
