Today is a EVEN period block day – Periods 2,4,6,8

Student Recognition & Congratulations:


The Lion’s varsity soccer squad won a hard fought match against Thornton High School last night. Oscar Sanchez scored in the final minute of overtime to put the Lions up 1-0. He was assisted by Will Banfield.  The JV soccer team defeated Thornton 11 to 1 yesterday. Donaciano Quintero and Emmanuel Cooke both had hat tricks in the match.  Way to go LIONS!

The volleyball team had a very good night last night. The sophomore team won 25-15, 26-24. Julia Jobanputra and Brynn Svenningsen were the top servers, and Naya Bere and Anna Sonju were the leading defenders. The JV volleball lost a hard fought match in three sets, 21-25, 26-24, and 12-15. Julia Encinias lead the team with 5 ace serves and Alex Kirby led with 4 kills. The varsity team won in a tough 5 setter, 25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 21-25, and 15-13. Tasha Habert led the offence with 26 kills, Sammy Wong led the defense with 16 digs, Natalie Sandstrom had 5 blocks, and Sela Theron served up 3 aces.  Way to go LIONS! 

Congratulations to our Lion Pride football team for their win over Thomas Jefferson HS last night on our home field with a fantastic score of 40-20!!  Way to go LION football!

The Choir Department is holding a Garage Sale and Car Wash fundraiser on Saturday, Sep 7, 8am-12pm, in the Littleton HS front parking lot, to help with the cost of choir outfits for the Troubadours and Syrens. Donation items for the garage sale can be dropped off in the theatre lobby Thursday Sep 5, Friday Sep 6, or the day of the garage sale, on Sep 7, between 7am-8am. (All unsold items will be donated to charity after the sale.) Volunteers to help set up and assist during the event are needed as well. Come out and show your support for the choir department on Saturday Sep 7! Bring your friends and family!

LHS ENCORE! will host a meet & greet BBQ before the Collage Concert on Wednesday, September 11, at 5:00pm in the front parking lot. Everyone is welcome and proceeds benefit LHS Performing Arts. Advance tickets can be purchased from Mr. Farrell in the choir room for $6 each OR 4 tickets for $20.00. (Tickets are $7 each OR 4 for $25 at the event.) The menu includes: BBQ pulled pork or chicken sandwiches, salad, bottled water & dessert. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs and meet your LHS Encore! board members and other performing arts families. The FREE Collage Concert follows the BBQ, at 7pm, in the LHS Theatre.

Hello everyone! First, a big thanks to everyone who attended the very fun (albeit rainy) Back-to-School FUNraiser at Glenmoor on Thursday! Our focus this year for our PTO fundraising is the new STEM lab that will be in place soon at Littleton. Dr. Oaks reviewed her plan for the year, and with any luck, we will have some fabulous new computers up and running as soon as possible. If you did not have a chance to attend the fundraiser, but would like to make a contribution to PTO for our new lab, please contact Wendy Burbage at wlb1963@msn.com, or mail your check to LHS, attn. FUNraiser.  We are on our way to attaining our goal of $9000 for some new state-of-the-art Apple computers, but a few more donations would be wonderful. OR, if you’d like to support our after-prom for junior and senior students in April, you may also want to consider a donation to this special event. Just use the memo portion on your check to specify your donation preference. Any and all donations are appreciated! It adds up, and it all benefits our LHS students. All donations are tax deductible.

Calling all gamers!  The role playing game club will hold an informational meeting after school
today in room 113.  All returning members and any students interested in this club should attend this meeting where we will discuss what games to play this year, as well as the possibility of special events and tournaments.  Please see Mr. Saliman if you have any questions.

The Technology Student Association has it's first meeting this Thursday after school in the tech lab, room 150 downstairs.  We will be discussing events of the year and homecoming ideas.  Come be a part of out 11 year state champion team, all are welcome.  It starts at 2:20 see you there.

Tonight is our first home football game! Let’s plan to tailgate before the game. Keep it simple… here are some guidelines to help get our season off to a great start! Come early and chat with fellow LHS families, then head on in and watch our boys play some football!
 Tailgating 101
 •        Bring your car (if it has a tailgate, even better!)
•         Bring a small table and a couple of chairs (table decorations are good!)
•         Bring snacks and drinks to put on your small table (finger foods work best).
•         Share your snacks and drinks if you like (no adult beverages, please- LPS District Policy!).
•         Show your Lion Pride and wear purple and gold! (Go Littleton!)
•         Maybe some purple and gold balloons for your car, to help make things festive!

In their first home match, the boys tennis teams were victorious as the varsity beat Castle View 5 - 2 and the JV trounced the same opponents 6 - 1. Next up for the racketeers is Rock Canyon on Thursday. Congratulate the players when you see them.  Way to go LIONS!!

There will be an organizational meeting for boys basketball tomorrow in room 121 at 2:15-2:30 pm.  If you are interested in playing boys basketball at any level this winter, please attend this important meeting.

Congratulations to your LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band and Colorguard for their Outstanding performance at the Colorado State Fair Parade Competition on Saturday.  The "Lion Pride" Band placed 2nd in their Division and 3rd Overall out of 18 competing Bands and Alyssa Emmons was recognized as the Outstanding Drum Major of the Competition.  Go Band!!

ATTENTION EVERYONE INTERESTED IN STUDENT COUNCIL, we are having our first General Council meeting today.  ANY STUDENT interested in being a part of Student Council this year should come to our meeting!!  We will be in the forum starting at 2:20 and end around 3pm.  We are talking about freshmen elections, Back to School Night and of course--Homecoming!!!  And, there will be free ice cream! See you there!  If you need a Student Council Ambassador form they are main office today through Monday.

As you all know the Littleton Public Schools code of conduct prohibits the use of tobacco on school grounds or at school sponsored events.  The City of Littleton also prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from possessing, consuming, or distributing tobacco.  This means that students using tobacco near the school - including on East Powers Avenue - will be ticketed by the Littleton Police Department.
