Academic Announcements:

A representative from the University of Montana will be here TODAY at 11 a.m.

Students who did not receive their test results for the Explore, PLAN or Practice ACT, can pick them up in the counseling office.  Students can only pickup their own results, and should bring a photo ID when picking them up.

Club Announcements:

All speech and debate team members are reminded of our meeting is TODAY. Those members interested in becoming Captains-- prepare your speech!

Attention all Student Council officers, ambassadors and general council members; we have a General Council meeting on Monday Nov. 18th at 2:20 in the forum. Remember, you are excused from your Winter sport practices until 3pm on Mondays and Thursdays to attend club meetings--so please come to our meeting!  Thanks

Academic Announcements: 

Two college representatives are visiting Littleton today to meet with Juniors and Seniors.  The rep from Arapahoe Community College will be in the Post Grad Center at 9 a.m., and Colorado Mesa University's rep will come to Post Grad at 1 p.m.

In addition, a representative from the University of Montana will be here tomorrow (Friday) at 11 a.m.

Practice ACT for 11th graders will distributed in Social Studies TODAY and tomorrow.

Next week is International Education Week!  This event is promoted by the U.S. Department of Education and State in order to promote international learning and exchange. Festivities begin on Monday, November 18th featuring guest speakers, international films, study aboard, soccer, music & more.  The schedule for the week is posted outside the library and stay tuned to daily announcements to find out what is happening each day.

There will be a CO ED, 4 versus 4 soccer tournament from 3-5pm in the stadium on Wednesday, November 20, as part of International Week. Teams of 2 boys and 2 girls from any grade may participate. Register your team with coach Banfield before Friday, November 15.

LHS Performing Arts & Encore would like to thank everyone that attended the LHS Performing Arts Music & Craft Fair last Saturday in the LHS Cafeteria & South Gym.  It was a fun day and couldn't have happened
without all of the volunteers and shoppers.  We hope you were able to get some of your holiday shopping done by purchasing some unique gifts. Thanks, again, for your participation.

Please bring new or gently used books appropriate for students in grades K-12 to the attendance office, library or in your language arts classroom.  The drive will run through November 22nd.  Thank you for your support!

Congratulations to our Littleton High School cheerleading squad for taking second place at the Bronco Spirit Competition over the weekend! The girls performed their hearts out and coaches are so proud! Way to go ladies!!!

Academic Announcements: 

Reminder for all students who signed up to take the swim test at LHS TODAY, you will need to be dressed in the pool ready to swim by 2:30.  Please remember to bring your photo ID with you.

After School Math Help - Come to room 121 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 - 4:00 pm to get math help to boost your understanding as well as your math grade.

Attention all girls going out for swimming and diving:  Just a reminder that you must have completed all registration materials on the littletonlions.net website, plus turn in a signed physical form to the athletic office before beginning practice this Wednesday, Nov. 13th.  There will be no exceptions.  Please refer to your handouts for special practice times this Wed., Thurs., and Fri.

Wrestling season starts on Wednesday, November 13th.  If you are interested in wrestling see coach Burton in room 133W.

It's almost basketball season!  This year's tryouts begin for girls basketball begin Wednesday and continue through Friday and are scheduled from 3:00-5:00 each day.  We hope to see you there!

Today is an ODD Period Day – Periods 1.3.5.7

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulation to the FBLA team of Adam Butterman, Michael Tolley, Mac Baker, Lauren Byford and Naya Bere.  They finished in 1st place at the Stock Market Challenge held at DU on Friday!  Their portfolio grew to over $1,000,000.  They were rewarded with a trophy and each team member took home a new Nook e-reader.

Congratulations to the winners of Lions Follies this past weekend!  Best Musical Act:  Duncan Britt, Best Non-Musical Act:  Kristi Sauer and Best Overall Act:  Alex Olvera!  Way to go everyone!  And thanks to everybody who came and saw the show, it was a great show with a wonderful mix of songs, dances and comedy.  And a special thanks to Jennifer Trigg and her committee for doing such a great job on the show!

After an amazing stretch of 13 wins, your Littleton LION ULTIMATE mixed team lost to Lakewood for the Colorado state title. We are second in state and feeling LION PRIDE!  Help us celebrate our great season with a special performance and cheer right after school in the main lobby!

Congratulations to Hugo Alvarez, winner of the 2nd Super Smash Brothers tournament.

All students who are planning to participate in Winter Sports must register on-line on the Athletic website and ensure the Athletic Dept has a current physical form for you on file, before participating in the sport. Some students have handed in their physical forms but have not yet registered.

LHS is holding a book drive to support the schools in Lyons impacted by the recent Colorado floods.  Their schools are in need of books appropriate for students in grades K-12.  You can drop off new or gently used books in the attendance office, library or in your language arts classroom starting November 11.  The drive will run through November 22, so there is plenty of time to be part of this flood relief effort!

International Education Week is coming to LHS the week of November 12-18. This is an event that is promoted by the U.S. Department of Education and State in order to promote international learning and exchange. LHS has celebrated this week since 2001. The week's schedule is posted outside the library, and the days events will be read in the daily announcements. Each period in the Forum there will be LHS and guest speakers who will present on a variety of international topics as well as international films. Additionally, there will be an intramural soccer tournament Wednesday after school and a study abroad and culture fair Wednesday evening between 6 and 8 pm. Friday in the Theater their will be an world music concert and dance performance. In addition to attending events with your classes, feel welcome to attend events during your off hours.
