Today is ODD Period Day – Periods 1.3.5.7

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the lady lion fish divers for dominating the LPS diving championships against Heritage and Arapahoe last night, with Bobbi Pettit placing 4th, Madi Deter placing 3rd, and Sarrelle Schultheis (Shul-thees) becoming your new LPS diving champion, placing 1st overall.  Great job divers!

Other Announcements:

Two Day left in the Penny War competition! Today through Friday Peer Counselors will be outside the cafeteria during lunch collecting change for the penny war.  All proceeds will go to the Second Wind fund, which helps eliminate social and financial barriers towards mental health treatment.  Currently, the junior class has a commanding lead.  So teachers and other grade levels show the junior class some competition.  For more information please see Josh Hahn.

This is Spirit Week!  Today is Bow Tie & Pearls Day, and Friday, is class T-Shirt day.

Winter Dance tickets are on sale during lunch times.  Tickets are $8.00 for individuals, $15.00 for couples. The Dance is this Saturday night from 8:00 to 11:00pm in the south gym.  Guest forms are due TODAY.

Academic Announcements: 

The admissions representative for the Savannah College of Art & Design's rescheduled visit to our school TODAY.  She will meet with students at 1pm in the Post Grad Center.

Math tutoring continues after school from 2:20 - 4:00pm in room 121

Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring is here this evening from 6:00-7:730pm in room 107

Club Announcements:

FCCLA has a meeting TODAY, after school.  If you are planning on going to District and State Conference, you need to attend this meeting.  We will also be signing up to prepare foods for the Women's Shelter.

State DECA members, there will be a MANDATORY meeting TODAY right after school in room 124.  Please see Mr. Decker immediately if you cannot make the meeting.

FBLA members, there will be a meeting TODAY after school to make sure we are all ready for District competitions happening tomorrow!  See you then!

The Model UN meeting will be cancelled for today, and we will meet next week on Thursday in Room 206 at 2:20pm.

The Lady lionfish competed against Rock Canyon yesterday.  Winning for the Lady Fish was Claire Tronrud in the 200 free and the 100 free.  Also, congratulations to Claire Tronrud, Megan Sanders, Caroline Montgomery, and Morgan Zueger who qualified the 200 free relay for the state meet.

Today is ODD Period Day – Periods 1.3.5.7

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Our Unified team beat Chatfield Friday night 100-93. Our next game is Wednesday at the Pepsi Center.

The LHS Speech and Debate team competed against 36 schools at the Lobo Howl in Fort Collins on Saturday.  Leading the way:
Kieran Britt, 6th in Lincoln-Douglas debate
Megan Sanders, 6th in Oratory
Kelly Dineen and Ryan Familglietti, second in Policy Debate
and Lucy Haggard, tournament Champion in Poetry

This past Saturday at the Kent Denver and St. Mary's Model United Nations Conference Zach Huffer, Annalise Froelich, Claire Martin, Jae Banfield, Tessa Rubi, Will Banfield, Aidan Mann, Jordan Trigg, CJ Larson, and Alexandra Martin led the rebirth of Model United Nations for Littleton High School. This group did a great job of simulating roles as United Nations diplomats, and Will Banfield and Alexandra Martin won Best Delegate awards for their representation of France in their Security Council simulation. Anyone interested in learning more about Model United Nations is welcome to attend the groups regular Thursday meetings in room 206 between 2:20 and 2:45.
