Today is an EVEN Period Day – 2.4.6.8.

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Girl's varsity soccer team for their one nil victory over Green Mountain last night. Sarah Gray scored the only goal. Tremendous team defense and great goalkeeping by Shayna Watkins preserved the shutout.

The JV girls soccer team continued their winning ways with a 4-0 win over Green Mountain yesterday. Goals by Talya Mendoza, Ellie Simpson and Carrie Eral powered the offense, while a goalkeeping by Lilly Agnes Jensen preserved the shut out. Terrific team win, girls!

Congratulations to our Baseball team! They beat Hinkley 7 – 1.  The winning pitcher was David Levin.  Way to go!!

Academic Announcements:

Rising IB juniors: You and your parents have a mandatory IB meeting at 7 pm Monday, April 13, in the Forum. We will discuss your CAS program, which is a core component of IB. In addition, Ms. Adams-Berger will share information about 'wellness in IB.' (Students who need to attend the music department informational meeting must come to the IB meeting first.)

Seniors, get on the map!  Have you decided where you're going to college?  If so, stop by the Post Grad Center and let us know.  We'll put your picture with your name and college on the maps outside the cafeteria and in Post Grad!

Attention Sophomore and Juniors.  The University of Colorado at Denver wants YOU!  They have invited any and all of you who may be interested in learning more about UCD to attend their "Preview Day" on Friday, April 24th at the Auraria Campus.  To find out more and to sign up to attend this free and exciting event, simply Google "Preview CU Denver".  This is a cool event that will give you terrific insight about the college experience at CU Denver.

Attention all students who may be interested in attending one of the military academies like the Air Force Academy, West Point, the Naval Academy or the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. A free information day will take place at South High School on Saturday, April 25th from 1:00-4:00pm. You'll learn about the process of getting nominated in order to apply to these very special academies. If you have questions about the military or the military academies, see Mr. Puchino in the Counseling Office.

REMINDER - Lost and Found will be emptied TODAY after school. Notebooks and papers will be recycled. All clothing items will be donated to Goodwill. Please come down and claim your items before it is too late!

Make a Wish t-shirts are still available.  If you did not get your order in on Wed, you can still order a t-shirt, just drop off your order form to Ms Prestel's desk in the Social Studies office or take it to the bookkeeper before or after school-only.  You can pay now, or when you pick up your shirt starting on April 21st.  Thanks for supporting Make a Wish!

Special Events:

Prom tickets on sale!!  Starting Monday April 13 and going all week during lunches, prom tickets will be available in the cafeteria. They are $40 for all non-LHS students and non-seniors OR $45 if you would like to donate $5 to the Make a Wish campaign.  Seniors, your tickets are free, just bring your school ID to prom to show at the door!

Prom guest forms will be available in student services and the main office. They will be due on April 23, 2015.

Congratulations to X Chromosomes girls' Ultimate on their 7-6 win against CIVA yesterday! They fought through brutal winds and scored upwind for the win. The boys dominated CIVA 7-1 continuing their 5-0 streak. Wish both teams luck this weekend at the East Invite at Dick's.

Congratulations to the JV Girls soccer for their 4-1 win over Valor on Tuesday!  Come watch them complete against Green Mountain today at 4pm on the LHS grass field.

Club Announcements:

Key Club will hold a meeting TODAY at 2.15 p.m. in room 211.  At this time, we will be accepting nominations for next year's executive officers.  If you are interested in running for an officer position next year, please make sure that you attend the meeting.  If you cannot attend, but know you wish to stand, please talk to Ms. Anthamatten.

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity soccer team on their one nil victory over powerhouse Valor Christian last night. Carli Murray scored the goal from an assist by Jae Banfield. Goalkeeper Shayna Watkins had the shutout. Great game, ladies!!

Congratulations to the girl's tennis team on their big win against D'Evelyn on Monday and their sweep against Wheat Ridge last night. The girls are currently undefeated and will play at Littleton tomorrow against Green Mountain.

Sports Announcements:

There will be an important boys’ soccer meeting for players only TODAY at 2:30pm in room 133E for all boys interested in playing soccer in the upcoming season in the fall. Information will be given about camps, pre-season, and season activities.

Club Announcements:

The Model UN and World Clubs will meet in Room 206 at 2:15pm TODAY.

Are you wondering what those buckets with teacher names are doing in the front lobby?  Well, they are for our Make a Wish Pie in the Teacher's Face event coming up on April 20th.  You just have to put money into the bucket of the teacher you MOST want to have a pie thrown in their face and the top 3 teachers per lunch will be out in the courtyard ready for you to pay 1 buck to throw a pie at them!  Have some fun and help Make a Wish Week!  The teachers are:  Mrs. Fisher, Mr. Decker, Ms. Prestel, Mr. Saliman, Ms. Kron, Mrs. Becky Mann, Mrs. Erin Mann, Jay, Mr. Wentz, Mr. Brooks, Mrs. Smith, Mr. Klein, Mrs. Strother, Mrs.Benton, Mr. Montgomery, Ms.Bellowe, Mr. Uhl and Mr. Stedron!

Congrats to the Boys’ and Girls' Track teams for an outstanding performance at the Littleton City Championships Meet Friday night. The girls finished 2nd overall with outstanding performances in Shot Put, Discus, 800m Relay, Medley Relay, Long Jump, 800m Run, Hurdles and the Mile. The boys finished with outstanding performances in the 800m relay, Mile run, 400m relay, 200m run, Pole Vault, and 1600m Relay. Special shout-out to Noah McGhee, who was named meet MVP.
