STUDENT BULLETIN

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Students if you have not checked out chromebooks, they are available in the library. They will be available lunch periods, before and after school, or during off periods.

Student Picture Day and Photo ID’s will be taken today, August 25, 2017. Students will come to take pictures during Language Arts classes. All students will take a picture for their ID.

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

If you want to get involved in LHS, come to the Student Council meeting on Monday August 28th after school in the forum! We will be talking about Homecoming activities and signing up anyone who wants to be an ambassador for their class or any freshmen who want to be an officer.  Come one, come all-everyone is welcome!

Lion Ultimate mixed season is about to begin! Practices are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-5 starting on Monday. All LHS students are welcomed to join!

Calling all artist If you like art and you wanna have something to do come on by room 1218 on Tuesday the 29th at 2:30, there will be food and refreshments provided so come on by for an artastic time.

Congratulations to boys tennis on their 7-0 victory over Denver South on Tuesday.

Important Announcements:

The rescheduled Information Meeting and Acting Workshop for the fall play, "The Crucible", will take place today at 2:30 p.m.  Actors can receive help preparing for the auditions which take place next Monday and Tuesday.  Techies will receive information from Mr. Nicholson on what is available in that area and how you can become involved in the show.  Today at 2:30 p.m. in the theatre.

If you are interested in joining it’s not too late to sign up, visit the STEM website today for more information.

Attention current senior NHS members! We will have a short first meeting TODAY, AUGUST 24th at 2:25 in the forum. It is not our normal meeting day, but we have some things to share before we start the year with new members! It is important that you are in attendance. See you then!

Key Club will have a general informational meeting today in the courtyard (opposite the cafeteria) at 2.20 p.m.  All are welcome - new 8th and 9th graders and upperclassmen, returning and new members. Popsicles will be provided! If you want to make new friends and get involved in community service projects then Key Club is the place for you!  Come along and find out more.

Families, We are looking for a few more volunteers with picture days.  It is an easy job, just checking the students in primarily.  This is one of the best volunteer gigs as it includes lunch!  When you sign up, please indicate your sandwich preference: turkey, ham, or veggie.

We look forward to seeing you at 6:00pm for a welcome and overview in the Theater by Dr. Amy Oaks. Our class schedule will begin at 6:26 pm with all parents or guardians going to their student's Seminar class. Please bring your student’s schedule, as the school has not printed any student schedules for the evening. Students must have a permit to park on school lots
Student parking lots are:

Forum - lot

Students may not park in the athletic lot
Get your permit soon
We will start giving tickets September 5th 2017

1) The Model United Nations Club will meet today at 2:20pm in room 2609 in the Social Studies Hallway. All students interested in international affairs, a club that looks great on college applications, and provides credit for IB CAS hours are encouraged to attend.

2) There will be an informational meeting for the summer 2018 Nepal study and service trip in the forum at 9:10 pm tonight after Back to school night. This would be a great opportunity to gain IB CAS hours for Junior IB students!

LHS Football Parent Meeting- Today, August 22nd
For football player parents, there is a meeting at 7:00pm Today, August 22nd in the Forum.  Please come to learn more about the program, expectations, schedules and support options for the coming season.

Important Announcements:

If you have not picked up your school supply packs, please pick them up in the cafeteria during both lunches TODAY.  After today you will need to contact Mr. Decker directly and pick them up from him before or after school.

Student Council wants you!!  We have a meeting on today August 21st right after school in the forum, so if you are a freshman and interested in getting involved at LHS-- become a Student Council officer!  We want energetic, fun students with lots of great ideas!  If you don't want to be an officer, but still want to be involved, that's OK too--just come to the meeting on Monday 21st!


Student Council officers and any upperclassmen who want to be ambassadors, please come to the General Council meeting on today August 21st, starting at 2:25 in the forum.  See you there!


Attention Freshmen!!  If you got a yellow ticket in your care package from Orientation that says "winner" on it, bring it to the main office and collect your free T-shirt.


Class t-shirts are going to be ordered soon...so if you have not paid for one yet, get to the bookkeeper and pay your $5, so you can pick yours up on the day they arrive.  GET IN THE SPIRIT with your class shirts!! This includes the Early High School 8th graders too!

If you have not picked up your school supply packs, please come by the cafeteria TODAY during either lunch period to pick them up.  If you were missing anything from your pack, please come by the store in the cafeteria to get your missing items.
