STUDENT BULLETIN:

Have you heard about the Offline October Challenge? Offline October is a challenge for people to give up social media for the month of October to support teen suicide prevention. We encourage you to talk to your friends, go on the national website OFFLINEOCTOBER.COM, and make your pledge to support this movement. Please see Ms. Adams-Berger in the counseling office with any questions.

Attention, Juniors and Seniors! Admissions reps from Humboldt State, Monmouth College, Southeastern University and Syracuse University will be here today to meet with students. Please sign up to attend on your Naviance account. And stop by Post Grad to pick up a pass from class. Next week is College Week here at Littleton! We will host over 60 admissions reps during the school day Monday thru Friday. Please check the schedules that are posted on bulletin boards in the Language Arts hallway and outside of the cafe, or on Naviance.

Attention, Seniors! Be sure to attend the College Essay Writing workshop on Tuesday, October 2nd, during both lunch periods in The Forum. Our esteemed Mr. Stedron is returning to help students with a straightforward method to essay writing. Don't miss this!

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Students participating in speech and debate this year: You have tryouts today in The Forum. We will start right after school, and go until about 4:30. Please see coaches Saliman, Thieme, or Jones if you have questions.

Thespians will meet after school in the theater classroom today at 3:45 pm, to discuss community outreach and the Thespian Conference.

Attention all Student Council members: There is a General Council meeting next Tuesday, October 2nd, in The Forum at 7:45 am. We will be debriefing Homecoming and discussing upcoming events. Please plan to attend!

Sources of Strength Peer Leaders: Please join us for donuts and help plan how we will spread Hope, Health, and Strength this year. We will meet on Thursday, October 4th, at 7:45 am, in Ms. Rapp's room, room 1219. If you can't make it, please stop by and check in with Ms. Smith in the main office.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Congrats to JV volleyball for another exciting 2-1 victory over Golden last night. A special thank you to everyone who showed their support on Pink Night. The Littleton Volleyball Team hosted a bake sale to raise funds for breast cancer research, and is very proud of the $205 they raised. Thank you, Volleyball!

The boys varsity tennis team defeated Standley Lake 7-0. The team record is now 9-1.

Congratulations to the JV soccer team on a 3 to 2 victory over D'Evelyn. Max Klein scored two goals, and Brandon Molina scored the game winner in the final minute. Way to go, team!

Attention, Lady LionFish Swimmers and Divers: There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, October 10th, at 4:00 pm, in the pool area. Please plan to attend this quick meeting where practice times and the meet schedule will be handed out.

After the Littleton, Colorado, community experienced a number of teen suicides, a group of 25 students got together to come up with a solution after declaring that enough was enough. The big 3 goals for going Offline are: an increase in suicide awareness and prevention; more face-to-face conversations; and involvement in more community events. Started right here in Littleton, there are currently students from 18 states and 5 countries that have taken this year’s pledge. We encourage you to talk to your friends, go on the national website OFFLINEOCTOBER.COM, and make your pledge to support this movement. Tonight at the girls’ volleyball game is Breast Cancer Awareness Night. We want everyone - teachers, students and staff members - to wear pink to show support for the over 200,000 people in the United States who have this disease.

Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams on their excellent showing at our own Littleton Lions Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday. Both the boys varsity and boys open squads finished second overall in a highly competitive meet. Not to be outdone, the girls varsity and the girls open crews were third overall in their respective divisions. What a great day to be a Lion!

STUDENT BULLETIN:

Lions, remember that Thursdays are College Thursdays at LHS. Wear your college gear tomorrow and every Thursday.

Students, during lunch times, there are several places where you can be; the cafeteria, the courtyard, the library, or outside on the front lawn. Starting today, we will clear the halls during lunch periods, including the theater hall and the front hall. Classes are going on during lunch, which is why we ask that you go to these assigned places. There is a no food rule in the library, so if you want to access the library during lunch, please do it after you've finished eating.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the homecoming events from last week!

Congratulations to the seniors for sweeping the spirit board, for dominating dodgeball, volleyball, the LHS mardi gras hashtag, for being the loudest at the pep rally, and for the best class booth at the carnival.

Congratulations to the juniors for tying with the seniors at powderpuff and for having the best participation in the "do it" cheer.

Congratulations to the freshmen for the best attendance at the football game!

We would also like to recognize the winners from homecoming dodgeball and volleyball. Congratulations to Team Casa Bonita for winning dodgeball and the Casa Bonita Cliff Divers for taking the win in volleyball! Members of the winning teams can stop by the Student Services Office today to pick up their prizes. Go, LHS!

Key Club meets tomorrow, September 27th, at 7:50 am, in room 2620. We will be making dog toys for the Dumb Friends League. All are welcome! Please bring any old, worn-out, large-sized t-shirts you can spare to cut up for dog toys.

Congratulations to your "Pride of Littleton" Marching Band who placed 12th overall at the Monarch Marching Invitational this past weekend. The Band also placed 5th in the 4A Division. Congratulations!

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Congratulations to the boy's and girl's cross country teams for their performances at the Dave Sanders Invitational last Friday. We saw 14 PRs and another seven season bests from your Lions cross country team and the boy's varsity finished fourth – just one point behind Golden. The teams are in action again tomorrow at the Littleton Lions Cross Country Invitational at deKoevend Park. Come cheer the Lions on!

Your Lions volleyball teams have two home matches this week. They take on Standley Lake on Tuesday, and Thursday is our Think Pink night against Golden. Good luck Lions!

Come support your lady volleyballers and eat some yummy food at Chipotle tonight from 4-8. All proceeds help the volleyball program.
