STUDENT BULLETIN:

Keep an eye out for gratitude journals next week. Sources of Strength Peer Leaders will be passing them out next Tuesday and Thursday during both lunches. The holiday season and end of the semester can be stressful. Focusing a little time each day on gratitude is a great way to manage stress!

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Our Speech and Debate team wraps up their first semester this Saturday at the Winter Wonder tournament at Cherry Creek High School. Please cheer them on! A reminder for the team - we have a team meeting today in the speech room after school. All members must attend.

NHS members - you have a meeting on Tuesday the 11th at 8:00 am in the forum.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Lions, the Littleton Lionettes need your support at State! The Lionettes will be competing at State tomorrow at 9:30 am at the Denver Coliseum! Please show your support and come wearing purple and gold to show your Lion pride!

Your LPS Hockey team will be playing their home opener tomorrow at South Suburban Ice Arena. The varsity team plays at 6:45 and JV at 8:45. Come out to cheer them on as they play Ralston Valley!

If you are interested in girls soccer, there will be an informational meeting Wednesday, December 12th, at 7:00 pm in the forum. Meet your new coaching staff, and get the 411 on kick-a-rounds, camps, and Futsal. Parents invited. Bring your preferred electronic device to take a quick survey for both players and parents.

STUDENT BULLETIN:

Congratulations to your "Pride of Littleton" Marching Band! They finished 2nd overall, out of 13 competing bands, at the Festival of Lights Parade this past Saturday in Colorado Springs. Go, Band!

Congratulations also to the LHS Jazz Band for their outstanding performance at the Legend Jazz Festival this past Friday. The Jazz Ensemble received the High Score of the day at the Festival, earning straight 1's from all five judges.

Finally, Congratulations to Elissa Volling who won the Denver Young Artists Orchestra Concerto Competition this past Sunday. Elissa was recognized as the top string player along the entire Colorado Front Range area. She will perform her Concerto live with the DYAO at their concert in April. Congratulations, Elissa!

Check out the Musana booth in the lobby today and tomorrow! There are bracelets, necklaces, tote bags, and even a chicken and a tree! All proceeds go to help buy school supplies for a new school on the Musana campus. Come check out the booth!

STUDENT BULLETIN:

Congratulations to the 84 DECA members who competed at the district 5 competition on Monday, December 3rd. Their hard work and dedication paid off as 32 students qualified for the State Leadership Conference in February. LHS also received a reward for the highest percentage of competitors qualifying for state. This is the second year in a row we have received this great honor! Great Job, DECA!

The LPS hockey season has officially begun! The team traveled to Vail on Friday night and had a tough loss, but then played Summit High School in Breckenridge on Saturday and won 6-2! The home opener is this Saturday at South Suburban at 6:45 against Ralston Valley. Come out to cheer on the team!

The L3 Boys Basketball team defeated Strive Academy by a score of 40 - 29 last night, which improves their record to 2 - 1 for the season. Grady Redding had an outstanding offensive and defensive performance. Grady led all scorers with 21 points. Go, Lions!

Attention, all track athletes! There is a brief meeting today at 3:35 pm, in the forum. Winter athletes, please come and get the information at 3:35, and you will then be excused for practice. If you have any questions, please let Coach Koepke know!

Donate to LHS on Colorado Gives Day today by clicking here! All money raised will fund our 2019 After Prom. Donations are tax-deductible and go toward providing a safe, fun event for our students to go to after, or in lieu of, Prom. This year, we're bringing it back to school after many years of hosting off-site. There will be guest entertainers, activities, prizes, games, and food. After Prom is entirely provided to our students by PTO via donations and fundraising efforts!

Seniors - Come check out your yearbook senior photo posted in the senior hallway. Let Mrs. Fisher or Eva Grenawalt know right away if you see any issues. This is your final chance to make any changes before these pages go to print.

Students and staff, did you know that the number one item requested by homeless shelters is men's large white crew socks? With colder weather approaching and the holidays just around the corner, we are hosting a sock drive to benefit the Denver Rescue Mission. If you are able to help this great cause, you can drop off new men's large white crew socks in the LHS Counseling office.

Remember to grab a snowflake from our Giving Snowman too! Swing by the cafeteria hall; all you have to do is take a snowflake off the snowman and buy the gift suggested on the flake. All the gifts will be sent to our sister school in Uganda to help those 82 kids have a special holiday! Bring the gifts to Ms. Prestel's desk in the Social Studies office by December 21st.

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Our Speech and Debate team had another great tournament this weekend at the Chatfield Chill on Saturday. Leading the way for the Lions were Senior Ashlyn McVicar who placed 1st in Drama, Hayley Hamilton who placed 1st in Lincoln Douglas debate, and Senior Julia Valdez who placed 1st in Poetry. Also making it to finals were Elianajoy Volin placing 5th in Poetry, Ally Procopio placing 3rd in Informative Speaking, Natalie Parkhurst placing 4th in Humor, and Senior Jack Rogers placing 2nd in Humor. Littleton took 2nd place overall in team sweeps. Outstanding job, team!

Student Council Members, we have our last General Council meeting of the semester tomorrow at 7:45 am. Please note that we will be meeting in the theater. Thank you!

The Model UN Club will meet tomorrow in Room 2609 at 8:00 am. All students planning on participating in the January 12th Colorado Springs Model UN Conference and the March New York Model UN Conference should attend. Any students who are interested in learning about Model UN for the first time are welcome, especially IB Juniors and Seniors seeking CAS hours!

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The varsity boys basketball team improved to 2-0 with a win Saturday over Kennedy by a score of 65-55. It was a great group effort. Daivion Simon led the team's comeback with great energy. Jack Kail scored 15 points, hitting some big shots down the stretch and playing great defense. Tay Sagrillo Smiley posted another double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Kai Bertram finished with 16 points and helped seal the victory with clutch free-throw shooting.

The JV team kicked off their season with a near win; Trevor McMillan and Fernando Benito led the team's scoring.

The Level 3 team earned their first victory to improve to 1-1. Kalven Bubelis led balanced scoring with 13 points. It was a solid team win. Go, Lions!
