STUDENT BULLETIN
Attention Juniors and Sophomores: The PSAT test date is Wednesday, October 16th at 8:00 am. in the South Gym. Registration is Monday, September 23rd and conclude Friday, October 11th. Sign up in the counseling office and bring $20 (non-refundable). Space is limited, so do not wait until the last minute!

CLUB & ACTIVITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Did you know that just one blood donation can save up to 3 lives? Our LHS National Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive on two upcoming dates here in the Forum on Thursday, October 24th, and Friday, November 8th. Anyone ages 16 or over can donate. For more information or to sign up for a time slot: see Ms. Adams-Berger or Mr. Puchino in the Counseling office. This is an amazing way to give back to those in need.

Need a tutor? The National Honor Society is here to help! We have a new system for signing up as of this week, so please stop by counseling and check the calendar outside Ms. Adams-Berger's office to see when tutors are available to help you! NHS members- remember to claim your time slots!

There is an abundance of information about the steps required as well as tips on how to make your application stronger. The application process is somewhat lengthy, and the requirements are quite specific. Don't delay in beginning the process. Please stop by Post Grad and speak to Ms. Reimers if you have questions. Also, please email Ms. Reimers if you plan to apply for the Boettcher.

Please note, students with appointments on Thursday will now be moved to Monday, October 14th instead, due to the forecast for Thursday. Those with Friday appointments will stay the same. Students in IB classes - please get your IB exam form completed and returned to the IB office. The deadline is tomorrow, October 10th. Please see Ms. Anderson, the IB diploma program coordinator, with any questions.

The boy's tennis team had a great day at the regional championship at Mullen High School, finishing in second place as a team. Owen Baxter (2 singles), Jake Beutelschies and Avry Stroeve (2 doubles), Max Villa-Franzmann, and Tyler Campbell (4 doubles) all secured positions in the state championship next week in Pueblo. Noah Chorpenning and Ollie Montoya will be competing for their spot in state this weekend.

For anyone interested in playing baseball this Spring, there will be a parent/player informational meeting tomorrow, October 10th, in the Forum at 5:30 pm. Hope to see you there!

MOCK TRIAL - A brand new team coached by legal experts and advised by Mrs. Sutterer will launch on Tuesday, October 8th. Come to an informational meeting at 3:30 - 4:00 pm in room 2608. Mock trial teams are composed of 6–12 students who play the role of attorneys and witnesses in a fictitious case before an actual Colorado judge. The LHS Mock Trial team will meet after school once a week from October to February to prepare for regional competition in February and possible state tournament in March.

The Model United Nations Club will meet in room 2609 Wednesday, October 9th, at 9:00 am. All students participating in this upcoming weekend's Boulder High Schools Model UN Conference should attend.

We are going to educate you on the history and traditions of the CULTURE of LHS. We are going to bring the COMMUNITY together with some spirit events. And we are going to help LHS with some environmental CONSERVATION initiatives!! Congratulations to the Level 3 Boys Soccer Team for their 9th win in a row - beating Heritage 4-1 in an exciting match yesterday. Goals were scored by Colin Wilburn, Johan Zamora, Levi Glasscock, and Disan Tenario. The team travels to Castle View tomorrow. Good Luck, Lions!

Attention Lady Lionfish Swimmers & Divers! Are you ready for another great swim and dive season? If so, please attend our informational meeting on Wednesday, October 16th, at 4:00 pm in the LHS pool area. We welcome ALL levels of swimmers and divers! See you there!

Congrats to your JV and Level 4 Volleyball teams for their wins against Green Mountain last night. Shout out to Mireya Rodriguez, who led her team to win 15-1 with 14 serves in a row. Go Lady Lions!! Come out Thursday to cheer on your Volleyball team!

Congratulations to the girl's cross country team on an excellent performance at the Cherry Creek High School meet on Saturday! Our varsity squad was led by senior Hailey Lockhart and included freshman phenoms Sydney Sheldon, Kenzie Pullar, McAllister Stewart, Rylee Berger, Sophia Sheldon, and Scarlett Montoya. In the JV race, freshman Catherine May was first for the Lady Lions with Olivia Landers, Aden Becker, Elianajoy Volin, Beth Krankota, Colletta Schiller, and Holly Burns racing strong. Georgia Reed was in the lead pack for most of the Girls Open Race powering through for a second-place overall finish. Nice job, ladies!

Well done, boys cross country! Our varsity boys team placed 3 rd in the very competitive Cherry Creek Meet over the weekend. Evan Moore broke 17 minutes on his way to 10th place overall with Cooper Brown also finishing in the top 20. Varsity runners Donny Marshall, Uzi Garcia, Grady Redding, BlakeAnderson and Hans Romine all ended with huge PRs in the race. Sawyer Gannon, Dan Lamey, and Liam Brock was the first three for the Lions in the Boys JV. The young squad also included Tate Redding, Chris Jonsen, Karsten Beich, and Cameron Graham. Andrew Kallas was first for Littleton in the Boys Open. Way to run, gents!

It’s Pink Night! Come cheer on your Lion’s volleyball team as we support breast cancer awareness while raising money for a local charity with our bake sale. Junior varsity starts at 5:30 pm and varsity at 7:00 pm.
