Club Announcements:

All TSA Members, come to the Tech Lab after school today to help finish the homecoming float for the parade! We will be working on putting together costumes as well for all those who want to be in the parade!

FBLA is meeting today, September 23, 2010 in room 124 at 2:20. Plan on coming if you want to sign up for the Stock Market Challenge and finalize our Homecoming Parade entry.

Hey Philosophers. We're meeting today after school to discuss his week's topic: Why do we go to school? See you there in room 204.

Sports Announcements:

Attention Students: Please have your Student IDs for all Homecoming events, including the Football game on Friday night. Without your ID you will be charged full rate.

There will be no open gym for girl’s basketball this evening. Next week we continue with open gyms on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 each night. Tryouts for girl’s basketball begin November 12th.

Please stop by the Girls Basketball fundraiser on Thursday evening from 6 to 7pm in the parking lot. Enjoy a BBQ meal for $5.00 before the varsity volleyball and soccer matches. It will be a great way to support the program, see some exciting Lion athletes in action, and get ready for the bonfire.

Attention lacrosse players, if you are planning on playing spring lacrosse, you need to attend the Player and Parent meeting Tuesday evening, September 28th, 7PM in the LHS Forum. Spread the word and we’ll see you there!

Reminder: Cheerleading tryouts for Winter 2010 will be Sept. 27 -30. Interested athletes should see Coach DeAnna Koepke to get on the tryout list and pick up all necessary information. Tryouts start Monday.

Academic Announcements:

Those interested Juniors and honor sophomores sign-up for the PSAT in the Counseling Office. Cost is non-refundable $20, cash or check, made out to LHS. Test date is Wed., Oct.13, 7:30 am at LHS.

Seniors: Reminder to please return your completed Diploma Information Form to the Counseling Office before Oct. 1. Extra copies are available in the Counseling Office.

Senior Advisement: Seniors with the last names M-Z, it’s your turn for your Mandatory Senior Advisement Wed., Sept. 29, 7:20 am. All seniors are required to attend this important meeting regarding helping you with your post graduate plans. Room assignments are in the counseling office and will be posted on the senior bulletin board outside of the cafeteria.

Seniors & Parents College & Financial Aid Information Night is Monday, Sept. 27, 7:00-8:30 pm in the Forum. No registration is required, but for additional information please contact the Post Grad Center or check with your counselor.

Seniors are encouraged to sign-up in Post Grad for the Free College Essay Workshop to be held Saturday, Oct. 2 from 9 am -12 pm in the LHS Library. DU writing Professor Paula Noonan will be presenting and there will be plenty of time to work on your essays. Space is limited, so sign up soon.

Special Events:

CLASS T-SHIRTS—GET THEM TODAY AFTER SCHOOL OR YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL AFTER HOMECOMING!! They will be available at 2pm today in the cafĂ©. Wear your shirts Friday for the Pep Assembly!! But there will be NO SHIRTS AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP ON FRIDAY!

Homecoming tickets on sale in the cafeteria during lunches and on Friday after school, too. You can also by them at the door of the dance. They are $15 or one dollar off if you bring in a NEW school supply for the Musana Orphanage. You can also pick up your class t-shirts during lunch tomorrow also!!

Homecoming Guest forms are due TODAY – turn them into Student Services.

All students planning on attending the Homecoming Dance MUST have a current LHS ID. If you have lost your ID, re-makes can be made in the library for $5.
