Way to go LIONS to the Varsity Boys Soccer team for their tie against Regis last night 1-1!

Club Announcements:

Hello Freshmen, Are you interested in Student Council? If so, please come by room 132E on Thursday after school for ambassador interviews.

GREEN CLUB has been changed to Wednesdays!! Now, Key Club members can join and get more CAS hours!! Rm 132 E after school.

Attention philosophers. This week we’ll be attacking a classic philosophy topic: Do people really have free will? If you have an opinion on that, come and share it. If you don’t know what we mean by free will, come and find out. Anyone is welcome. See you after school Thursday in Room 204.

Sports Announcements:

Cheerleading tryouts for Winter 2010 will be Sept. 27 -30. Interested athletes should see Coach DeAnna Koepke to get on the tryout list and pick up all necessary information.

Academic Announcements:

Seniors: Reminder to please return your completed Diploma Information Form to the Counseling Office before Oct. 1. Extra copies are available in the Counseling Office.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors! If you are interested in information regarding the United States Naval Academy, there will be an information forum Saturday, September 25 at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Come to the Post Grad Center for more information.

Metropolitan State College of Denver will visit in Post Grad today at 11:15 AM and Macalester College at 12:00 PM.

University of Northern Colorado will visit September 16, 2010 11:15 AM

LPS Swim Waiver Test dates are posted on the LHS website under For students. Students are who think they would like to take the test are encouraged to check the website for dates and specific information.

HOMECOMING IS HERE!! It’s time for the best time of the Fall—Homecoming!! This year’s theme is OUTERSPACE—yep, let the force be with you and all that—Check out the signs around the building to know what to wear for our Spirit Week:
Monday: Space Cowboy day - Deck those cowboy hats out with lights and antennae and be ready to beam me up Scotty!
Tuesday: Technicolor Tie-dye—find all your funky colors of the rainbow and wear those to honor Homecoming and to honor International Peace Day; PeaceJam members will be handing out Peace sign tattoos, get em before they’re gone!
Wednesday: Alien Green day – time to show off your best Alien Green shirts or pants and put those antennae back on
Thursday: become your favorite Cosmic Character
Friday: wear your class t-shirts and be proud in the Purple and Gold!!

CLASS T-SHIRTS ARE FINALLY HERE! Student Council will be handing out your class t-shirts on Thursday and Friday this week right after school in the cafĂ©. Bring 5 bucks just in you’re not sure if you paid—if you HAVE paid, your name will be marked on our list! The shirts will also be available next Monday and Tuesday during lunches.

HEY ALL YOU STUDDLY GUYS!! WE need you to sign up for your class’s Homecoming Volleyball team!! Right now the seniors are bragging that they are going to win, because they are the only class to have a team!! So, come on Juniors, Sophomores and Frosh—get your friends together and get a team signed up!! It doesn’t cost anything, and who knows Freshmen, this could be your chance to beat some seniors!!!! Sign up in the main office starting today.

TICKETS, TICKETS, TICKETS!! Homecoming tickets will be on sale starting on Monday 20th during lunches then on Tuesday through Friday during lunches AND afterschool. You can also buy them at the door on the night of the dance—but to avoid loooooong lines, buy them in advance. They cost $15 with $1 off if you bring in a NEW school supply for the Musana Orpahange in Africa.

Homecoming Guest forms are available and that they need to be turned in o Student Services by Thursday, September 23rd.
