Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Let’s hear it for the boy’s tennis team. They completed their Continental League season last night with a thrilling 5-2 victory at Castle View, a match not decided until 3- doubles Ryan MacDowell-Nick O’dell and 4-doubles Greg Roberts-Andrew Kelly won 3rd set tie breaks in the fast approaching dark. The team finished with an outstanding 8 – 3 record. Next is the LHS Invitational, all day this Friday, on the LHS courts. Come out to cheer! Rumors persist that extra credit in math classes is available for attending the tournament. See Coach Zolla for details.

Sports Announcements:

ATTENTION ALL LADY LIONFISH - All girls planning on swimming and diving this year will have an extremely important informational and organizational meeting tomorrow Thursday, Sept. 30, in the pool area at 2:20 p.m. Captains for the 2010-2011 season will also be elected at this meeting.

Academic Announcements:

Stonehill College, Trinity Christian College, Westmont College, and Carroll College (Montana) will visit tomorrow Thu September 30, 2010. Check in Post Grad for details.

Those interested Juniors and honor sophomores sign-up for the PSAT in the Counseling Office. Cost is non-refundable $20, cash or check, made out to LHS. Test date is Wed., Oct.13, 7:30 am at LHS.

Seniors: Your completed Diploma Information Form is due to the Counseling Office before Oct. 1. That is this coming Friday!

Seniors are encouraged to sign-up in Post Grad for the Free College Essay Workshop to be held Saturday, Oct. 2 from 9 am -12 pm in the LHS Library. DU writing Professor Paula Noonan will be presenting and there will be plenty of time to work on your essays. Space is limited, so sign up soon.

Special Events:

Mane Stage Players open METAMORPHOSES by Mary Zimmerman with performances on Thursday 30 September at 7pm, Friday 1 October 7pm and Saturday 2 October at 6pm. The show was created from the poem Metamorphoses by Roman poet Ovid in 8 AD, and his stories were taken from the Greek love stories. It is beautiful, funny, and reverent and all ten stories/eighty characters are told by eleven actors.
