Please remember to follow the dress code policies when planning your Halloween costumes for this Friday. This includes, but is not limited to:
-No mask -No full face paint
-No Sunglasses -No Weapons (real or fake) of any kind
-No drug, alcohol, or tobacco items or advertising of any kind.
Let’s make this a fun costume day with no incidents!! Have fun!

Club Announcements:

All speech and debate team members who plan on attending our November tournaments MUST sign up in room 151 by TODAY!!!

Greetings Philosophers. We’ll meet Thursday after school in Room 204. Anyone is welcome to drop by. We’ll be discussing an interesting moral dilemma. Come with your sense of morality and your best listening and arguing skills. See you there.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENT COUNCIL OFFICERS, AMBASSADORS AND GENERAL COUNCIL MEMBERS!! Please do not forget to bring in your two bags of candy to Ms Prestel’s office by Thursday afternoon! We would like to make a profit on Halloween-O-Gram fundraiser this year and the more candy brought in by our members, the better chance of doing that! Thanks!

Hey all you Ghouls and Goblins out there!! Student Council is sponsoring a Costume Contest this Friday 29th, so get your imagination working and you might win a fabulous prize!! The categories are: Best Traditional Halloween, Best Pair, Best Group, Most Creative, Scariest, and Best “Thinking out of the Box” costume. Make sure you don’t break any Code of Conduct rules and no full face masks allowed. Come to the cafeteria on Friday 29th to get your picture taken by our judges!

FBLA members - we have a meeting tomorrow, October 28, 2010 at 2:20 pm. We have a guest from Charles Schwab for our Stock Market Challenge training joining us. Don’t be late and plan to stay until 3:30 pm. This is our only day for training for the challenge! Remember that your membership packets and dues are due. See you on Thursday!

Sports Announcements:

Attention all students interested in unified basketball.....there will be a player/parent meeting on Nov. 15th at 7:00pm in the north gym. This is also the first night of practice. If you have questions please contact Mrs. Stukey or Mrs. Encinias.

Academic Announcements:

If you did not attend the Academic Awards program earlier this month, please pick up your awards in the main office.

South Denver School of Nursing Arts will visit tomorrow at noon. Please stop by Post Grad for details.

JUNIORS & SOPHOMORES: DO not wait, register now for the practice ACT test, better known as the PLAN. Test date at LHS is Sat., Nov. 6, 7:30 am. Cost is $20, check made out to LHS or cash. You can register in the Counseling Office. Space is limited!!

Seniors and College Application Deadlines: Please check the LHS website or stop by the Counseling Office for further information regarding important college application deadlines. It is important to note your requests in Naviance and transcript payments need to be made 10 BUSINESS DAYS prior to the college’s deadline.

Special Events:

Thespian Troupe #83 invites you to their HAUNTED HOUSE this Friday, 29 October from 3pm-5pm . The fun begins in room 146--the theatre classroom---and continues throughout the entire theater. The cost is a mere two bucks. Start your Halloween weekend off with some asylum shenanigans.

Upcoming Event! If you would like to honor family member in our Veteran’s Day Commemoration, please stop by the main office by November 1st for information. See Mary Mortenson for details.

Novemberfest is right around the corner! Plan on participating in all of the festivities on Saturday, November 13 at Littleton High School. Dinner will be catered by Dickey’s Barbecue from 5:30-8:00 in the cafeteria. Tickets are now available in the Athletic office for $10 per person. You can also purchase dinner tickets at the next three home football games; plan to purchase yours this Saturday, 2:00 pm at the game against Valor Pre-purchasing dinner tickets is highly recommended as a VERY limited number will be available at the door. The Novemberfest silent auction will begin at 5:30 and run until 9:00. This is a great opportunity to support Lions Athletics AND find great items to purchase in time for the holidays! Invite your friends and neighbors, too! Go Lions!
