Club Announcements:

Greeting Philosophers. Come join us today after school in room 204. We’ll be discussing just what it is that make something ART. Bring your ideas and even an example of something people call art that you believe really is or really isn’t. See you there.

FBLA members we will have a meeting today at 2:20 pm in room 124. We will be discussing our upcoming Stock Market challenge, holiday events and getting information about District competition. This is a very important meeting. Please plan on attending.

The speech and debate team WILL meet VERY BRIEFLY after school Friday in 151!!! Rush down to 151 so we can handle team business and still get to the East Tournament on time.

Sports Announcements:

Girls preseason basketball camp continues today from 4:00-6:00 in the South gym. Anyone considering trying out for girls basketball is strongly encouraged to attend! Tryouts begin tomorrow from 3:00-4:30 in the North gym

Attention all students interested in unified basketball.....there will be a player/parent meeting on Nov. 15th at 7:00pm in the north gym. This is also the first night of practice. If you have questions please contact Mrs.. Stukey or Mrs. Encinias.

There is a football banquet coming for the players, families and coaching staff of LHS Football:
• Monday, Nov. 15th
• 5 pm
• LHS Cafeteria
• Players; wear your purple polo shirts
• Freshmen parents: bring Main dish--at least enough for 12 people
• Sophmore parents: also bring Main dish--at least enough for 12 people
• Junior parents: bring side dish, enough for 12
• Senior parents; you get a pass--just enjoy! Drinks and dessert will be provided for all.

Academic Announcements:

SWIM TEST: Signups for the swim test at LHS are available in the Counseling Office. The test is Tues., Nov. 16 or Wed., Nov. 17, 2:30 pm sharp in the LHS pool. Registration is open to all LPS students in all grades and is limited to 30 students per session. Stop by the Counseling Office for details.

It's that time of year again---musical auditions are coming up. There will be an informational meeting today for ALL who are interested in auditioning for LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. Come one, come all but don't feed the plant.

Special Events:

LIONS FOLLIES TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE!! Come to the cafeteria during lunches and after school Thursday and Friday. They are a bargain at 5 bucks and it is reserved seating! Come out and see the best talent and funniest people LHS has to offer!! AND if you go to Friday’s show, you are entered into a drawing to win an iPod Nano—so bring your friends!! Saturday is the day of the silent auction—NovemberFest—so head to Lions Follies then go down and buy lots of cool stuff for early Christmas presents!!

Have you ever driven a Zamboni at an ice rink? Would you like to learn how? Well, you have the opportunity to bid on this unique opportunity (and a whole bunch of other cool things too!) at Novemberfest. We are in the final countdown to the LHS silent auction, this Saturday, November 13 from 5:30-9:00. Have dinner at school, bid a little, watch Lions Follies, come eat dessert at the yummy dessert bar, and then place your final bids. Dinner tickets are still available in the Athletic Office- Dickey’s BBQ will be catering the event; tickets are $10. A very limited number will be available for $15/ticket on Saturday, so buy them ASAP! The proceeds of Novemberfest all go to a great cause, so come support Lions Boosters!!!

International Education Week is coming to LHS next week (November 15-19). International Education Week is a U.S Department of State and Education that aims to celebrate International Learning and Exchange. The schedule of events will be posted in the front lobby, and on the bulletin board outside the library. Feel welcome to attend events during your off hours, and of course we hope your teachers and classes will attend events through the week. Monday after school there will be a soccer tournament for students who form teams and sign up. See Mr. Puchino for details.

Mark your Calendar for LHS' Study Abroad Fair!
As part of our International Education Week celebration, history teacher James Gordon, will host LHS' first International Week Study Abroad Fair. This event will take place on November 18th from 6pm - 8 pm in the cafeteria. Students and parents will have the opportunity to visit with a host of international study and service organizations that will share information and promotional material about their programs — People to People, Bold Leaders and ASSE (International Student Exchange Programs) just to name a few. In addition, LHS faculty and students who have ventured abroad will share their international study, service, work and travel experiences! We hope to see you there!

Other Announcements:

The Littleton High School Choir and Marching band will be marching in the Boston St. Patrick's Day Parade during spring break. Please come & support the performing arts students this Saturday at Applebee's for a pancake breakfast. The cost is $7 and will be served from 7:30- 9:30am. You can purchase tickets from any band member or at the door.
