Student Recognition & Congratulations:

The boys JV soccer team fought rival Heritage to a 1 to 1 tie, while the varsity soccer team recorded an amazing 3 to 1 win over Heritage last night.

Congratulations to the Freshman, Sophomore, and Varsity Volleyball teams who defeated visiting Rock Canyon! Sr., Laura Whalen led the offense in the varsity match with 22 kills, as Sophomore, Annika Hacker tallied 24 assists on the night. Laura Whalen, Annika Hacker, and Colleen McAnallen led the defense with 24, 10, and 9 digs respectively. Congratulations ladies! Come watch the Lady Lions in action again next Tuesday as they host Highlands Ranch.

Seniors who missed their Senior Advisement should plan to attend the make-up session Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2:30 in Room 122. Please see Mrs. Allen in Post Grad with any questions.

PSAT Sign-up-Reminder if you plan to take the PSAT you must sign-up in the Counseling Office. Cost is $20.00, cash or check and must be paid at the time you sign-up. Test date is Wed., Oct. 13. Space is limited.

The show was created from the poem Metamorphoses by Roman poet Ovid in 8 AD, and his stories were taken from the Greek love stories. It is beautiful, funny, and reverent and all ten stories/eighty characters are told by eleven actors.

ATTENTION ALL LADY LIONFISH - All girls planning on swimming and diving this year will have an extremely important informational and organizational meeting TODAY, in the pool area at 2:20 p.m. Captains for the 2010-2011 season will also be elected at this meeting.

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Let’s hear it for the boy’s tennis team. They completed their Continental League season last night with a thrilling 5-2 victory at Castle View, a match not decided until 3- doubles Ryan MacDowell-Nick O’dell and 4-doubles Greg Roberts-Andrew Kelly won 3rd set tie breaks in the fast approaching dark. The team finished with an outstanding 8 – 3 record. Next is the LHS Invitational, all day this Friday, on the LHS courts. Come out to cheer! Rumors persist that extra credit in math classes is available for attending the tournament. See Coach Zolla for details.

Club Announcements:

LHS Speech team members: we will be having Interp meetings today and Wednesday in room 151 at 2:30. If you're experienced with interp, please come on Tuesday. If you're new to interp, please come on Wednesday. See Ms. Solis if you have questions.

The Peace Jam Club will meet today in room 206 between 2:20 and 2:45. International Education Week Planning will be the focus of the October and November's meetings. All students and staff interested in helping to put on this event are welcome. Additionally, information on the Kenya Service and Study Trip will be available. We hope to see you there!
