Due to this short week, there will not be a normal Wednesday schedule - Today and Friday are purple days (periods 2,4,6,8) and tomorrow and Thursday will be gold days (periods 1,3,5,7).

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Men’s soccer team for their outstanding performance Saturday against Palmer HS – They came away with a 3-0 victory! Way to LIONS!!

Congratulations to the new Class of 2015 Student Council Officers! Kelly Dinneen is President, Seth Goldstein is Vice President and Junai Testa is Public Relations Officer! And if any Freshmen are still interested in being a part of Student Council, you can pick up an Ambassador form from Ms Prestel in the Social Studies office.

Club Announcements:

Attention all freshmen student council officers, ambassadors, and anyone else interested in helping out with the freshmen homecoming float. There will be a meeting today, Tuesday, at 2:20 in room 103 to organize our class float. Again, that's 2:20 in room 103. Bring your creative thoughts and ideas! See you there.

Attention—the Student Council Homecoming Dance Decoration Committee will meet today RIGHT after school in room 208. Please try and be on time! Thanks!

If you need help in ANY academic subject, don’t be shy and drop by. Come by Room 203 today after school. We’ll set you up with a fellow student who can assist you with your schoolwork. Also, any aspiring tutors are welcome to help your peers.

Sports Announcements:

Open gyms continue tonight for girls basketball and continue each Tuesday and Thursday night. We will meet in the weight room at 5:45 and hit the basketball court from 6:30-8:00. Current players and anyone interested in trying out are encouraged to attend. See you tonight!

Academic Announcements:

Actors--auditions for Noises Off are today from 3.15 -5. Don't forget to sign up for your slot on the callboard! You need a one minute comedic monologue, an audition time and a love of theatre.

JUNIORS & SENIORS: Are you enthusiastic and knowledgeable about LHS? Would you like to give tours to prospective students and parents? Consider becoming a LION AMBASSADOR! Stop by the counseling office for an application and return it to Mrs. Stulock by Thursday, Sept. 8.

Representatives from two colleges will be visiting this week to meet with interested students in the Counseling Office: Today - Meet with the Creighton University representative from 1-1:30 and on Friday - Meet with the University of Colorado-Colo. Springs representative from 8:15-8:45. Please come to Post Grad.

Swim Test at Heritage-Open to ALL LPS students: Tuesday, September 27, 2011 @ 2:30 p.m., at the HHS pool. Sign up September 19-26 by contacting Sheri Rossing at 303-347-7645, Extension 6692 starting September 19 (no sooner). Students must provide full name, school, grade, phone number and name of their counselor. Specific criteria regarding the requirements for the swim test are available in the counseling office or on the LHS website.

Special Events:

Homecoming Dance Guest Forms are available at Student Services and will be due September 15, 2011 by 12:00 p.m.

Other Announcements:

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107. Please use the forum entrance.

Lions Share is seeking your help in donating school supplies for students in need in the LHS community. All supplies are welcome especially pens, pencils, notebooks, paper and backpacks. We also need gift cards from Walmart, King Soopers, Target, Kmart, etc. Donations can be dropped off in the Counseling Office or mailed to LHS.
