Academic Announcements:

PLAN (Practice ACT) signups begin Oct. 18 – Nov. 3, space permitting, in the Counseling Office. Test date is Sat., Nov. 5, 7:30 am, at LHS. Cost is $20, cash or check made out to LHS, and students must pay when they register.

Hi Mathletes: If you are interested in participating in CSU Math Day, Thursday, November 3rd, the last day to sign up is tomorrow. Please see your math teacher or Mr. Ball to sign up.

Club Announcements:

Do you love to PLAY?!? The Adventure Education Club, Community Outreach through Adventure Education is meeting this Wednesday at 2:20 in room 105! Bring your sense of adventure and we’ll play! See Mr. Vanoni in room 106 if you want to join but can’t make it.

Remember when you were little and you got to carve a pumpkin with your mom or dad? Well, you can relive those memories right here at LHS! Student Council is sponsoring a Pumpkin Carving Contest on Thursday Oct. 27th right after school in the cafeteria. We will buy the pumpkins, you provide the creative idea! Winners will get a prize and will be displayed on Halloween day!

Student Council Halloween Decorating Committee has a meeting on Thursday Oct. 20th in the art room at 2:20, if you are on this committee, please be there ready to make fun decorations!!

The Beatles are coming to Littleton High School! Well, not exactly, but if you love the Fab Four, come to Rock 'n' Roll club on Thursday after school in room 112. We will discuss all things Beatles, Mr. Kron will show his pictures of Liverpool, we will listen to music and watch videos of the best group in all of Rock history. You don't need a Ticket to Ride. All You Need Is Love! See you there.

FBLA members: We have our last Stock Market Challenge training this Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 2:20 pm in room 124. You need to attend to help your team choose your stocks and get a few more tips on challenge success. We will have another business professional joining us so please be on time and be ready to work with your team.

WE WANT YOU!! Lions Follies wants you to sign up for Lions Follies!! Audition Sign-up forms are in the library and in the theater hallway! Get your friends and be a part of this awesome tradition here at LHS!!

Do you have a friend, a crush or a boyfriend or girlfriend? If so, send them a HALLOWEEN-O-GRAM—they are only 1 dollar and you get to send a note and a big bag of candy to that special person!! See a Student Council member for your Halloween-O-Gram! If you don’t have a dollar—bring in 2 cans of non-perishable food and you will get a FREE Halloween-O-Gram! All the proceeds will go to the Musana Children’s Orphanage in Uganda.

Hey all you ghosts and goblins—it’s time for the Student Council Costume Contest! Dig out our best, your scariest and your most creative costumes to parade around in on Halloween and you could win an amazing prize!! We will be taking pictures of all students in costume throughout the day, but especially during both lunches on the 31st. So, remember to follow the Code of Conduct rules—meaning no full-face masks--and we will see you in your scary best on the 31st!

Sports Announcements:

Open gyms for girls basketball continue on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the weight room from 5:45-6:30 and on the basketball court from 6:30-8:00. All girls planning on attending tryouts beginning November 11th are encouraged to attend!

There will be an organizational meeting for girl’s tennis tomorrow at 2:20 pm in room 137. If you are interested in playing tennis this spring, be at this meeting. See Coach Brooks with questions.

Special Events:

Buy your show tickets for Noises Off at the box office during your lunch. Cost is $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults, performances will be Thursday, October 20th at 6 pm, Friday, October 21st at 7pm and Saturday October 22nd at 6pm!

The men and women who are going through chemotherapy and radiation treatments at cancer centers experience prolonged treatments and after a time lose control of their body temperature. One way to give hope and warmth to these patients is to provide them with socks to wear. The 4th period advisement group is holding a sock drive for the “Rocky Mountain Cancer Center” to collect sock donations to keep these men and women warm. We will be collecting on Wednesday October 19th, Thursday October 20th and Friday October 21st. The collection boxes can be found in the Attendance office, Library, and in the Cafeteria during A and B lunches. Remember Cozy Toes Raise Socks For Chemo’s!

Attention everybody that auditioned for Goodstock, results are posted on the choir board. If you are performing, you MUST attend a mandatory meeting after school on Thursday October 20th at 2:30pm in the Forum. Thank you to everybody that auditioned!

Students! Teachers! Parents! It's not too late to join the fun, and help Littleton High School have a chance at $1000!!!! Register for the Stride on-line (see the link on Littleton's website) or stop by Runner's Roost or The Boulder Running Company to register there. This event is a fundraiser for the Littleton Public School's Foundation to benefit all LPS schools. The high school with THE MOST participants will be awarded $1000..... LET'S MAKE LHS #1!!!!

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107. Please use the forum entrance.

If you do not have a computer at home, there are free computers available. If you are interested please stop by the main office and speak with Mrs. Mashak.
