Congratulations to the Lion’s Volleyball teams for their victories and their outstanding performances last night against at Stanley Lake HS – All four levels swept the Gators! Way to go, LIONS!!

Congratulations to the Men’s soccer teams for their victories over Dakota Ridge HS last night - JV soccer won 4-2 and Varsity won 1-0!!

Lion pride football team beat Aurora Central HS last night 40-20! Congratulations!

Club Announcements:

Class T-shirts will be available today after school. We will have them in the cafeteria at 2:25. We will also have them available on Mon-Thurs next week during lunches and after-school! Mark those dates in your planner so you won’t be the only one not wearing your class t-shirt at the homecoming pep assembly!

Hey Philosophers, we'll be meeting this Friday after school in Room 102. Please feel free to drop by. We'll be looking at an overview of the main branches of philosophy and then the floor will be open to discussion. See you in Room 102 after school today.

Special Events:

Hey LHS students, get out your detecting skills and cell phone cameras!! Next week is Homecoming and Student Council is doing a Candyland Scavenger Hunt!! If you can figure out the clue of the day each week, find the location of the special Candyland place, take a picture of it--THEN be the one of the first 10 people to show Ms Prestel in room 209 or the SS office and you will win $2off a Homecoming ticket!! IF you are among the first 10 every day, you will a FREE HOMECOMING TICKET! So, get your thinking caps on...here we go!

Hey guys--do you like to play volleyball!!!?? IF so, sign up in the main office or the library to play volleyball on Thursday of Homecoming week--NEXT week! And Girls--how about some football! PowderPuff sign-up sheets are also in the main office and library starting today! Let’s see who is the best class in the school !

HOMECOMING TICKETS will be on sale starting Tuesday in the cafeteria during lunches and will continue through Friday. We will also sell them before school on Thursday and Friday. They are $15 with a dollar off if you bring in a new school supply. Tickets WILL be sold at the door the night of the dance starting at 8pm--they are the same price.

Hey, Hey, HEY it's time for HOMECOMING WEEK!! Student Council has an entire week of fun planned for you starting on Monday next week! Every day is a different dress up day with Monday being Pajama Day, Tuesday is Nerd(z) Day, Wednesday is Little Kids Twins day, Thursday is PiƱata day where you dress up in all your BRIGHTEST colors!! There is also a FANTASTIC Candyland Game Tournament Tuesday after school, Wednesday is girls PowderPuff--we want the biggest crowd ever to watch down on the grass soccer fields starting at 2:45! Thursday is boy’s volleyball in the north gym starting at 2:45--come see the guys kill that volleyball! Friday is a ton of fun starting with the pep assembly--wear your class t-shirts--the parade through downtown Littleton starts at 3pm, if you are not in a float come out and watch the fun! There is a tailgater starting at 6pm at the football stadium and then the football game at 7pm and finally, the dance on Saturday!! Come and join the fun!!!

Picture retake, make up day will be Tuesday September 20th in the theater lobby from 10:30-12:30pm. If you missed picture day in August, please come during your off time.

Like frozen yogurt? Support LHS After Prom and buy your treat this week from Yogo Mojo across the street by King Soopers! Just pick up a Yogo Mojo card in the main office or at the attendance office and turn it in with your purchase. The owner has agreed to give 20% of the income from purchases made by the LHS community (including students, staff and families) to the LHS After Prom budget. Go early and go often! Enjoy Yogo Mojo this week!

Congratulations to the Lion’s Volleyball teams for their victories and their outstanding performances last night against Thornton HS – All four levels swept the Trojans! Way to go, LIONS!!

Congratulations to the Boys tennis teams. Both the Varsity and the JV beat Ponderosa in thrilling, 1 point victories. Next up for the JV is Columbine, today, after school at our courts. Go support the young netsters. Meanwhile, the varsity is heading to Grand Junction for a weekend tournament with some of the best teams in the state. Go Lions!

Club Announcements:

It's time to Rock and Roll! Rock and Roll club is back with a new look, a new location, and a new time. We will meet in room 112 at 2:20 the second Thursday of every month, starting today. Each month we will focus on the music and impact of a different artist or group. This month we'll start with one of Rock and Roll's founding fathers, Chuck Berry! Bring your guitars, if you like, and try to match his famous playing style. We will also discuss plans for future artist studies. See you there, music lovers!

Today you’re welcome to join Key club for the first epic meeting of the year to discuss homecoming parade plans. See you in Room 114 at 2:20!

FBLA will meet today at 2:30 pm in room 124. Bring your completed membership packet with your dues if you can. See you then!

The Peace Jam Club will meet today in Room 206 between 2:20 and 2:45 pm.

There will be a Homecoming Powder Puff Football committee meeting today after school in room 209, please be there if you signed up for this committee.

Students must provide full name, school, grade, phone number and name of their counselor. Specific criteria regarding the requirements for the swim test are available in the counseling office or on the LHS website.

Congratulations to the Men’s soccer team for their outstanding performance last night against Aurora Central HS – They came away with a 3-2 victory! Way to go, LIONS!!

Congratulations to the boys tennis team for their 7 - 0 victory against Douglas County. Way to go Lions. Next match is today against Ponderosa, then the boys head to Grand Junction for the Western Slope Invitational Friday and Saturday. Wish them well!!

Club Announcements:

Nominations for Homecoming royalty are being taken in the cafeteria during both lunches today—voting will be next week.

Due to this short week, there will not be a normal Wednesday schedule - Today and Friday are purple days (periods 2,4,6,8) and tomorrow and Thursday will be gold days (periods 1,3,5,7).

Congratulations to the Men’s soccer team for their outstanding performance Saturday against Palmer HS – They came away with a 3-0 victory! Way to LIONS!!

Congratulations to the new Class of 2015 Student Council Officers! Kelly Dinneen is President, Seth Goldstein is Vice President and Junai Testa is Public Relations Officer! And if any Freshmen are still interested in being a part of Student Council, you can pick up an Ambassador form from Ms Prestel in the Social Studies office.

Club Announcements:

Attention all freshmen student council officers, ambassadors, and anyone else interested in helping out with the freshmen homecoming float. There will be a meeting today, Tuesday, at 2:20 in room 103 to organize our class float. Again, that's 2:20 in room 103. Bring your creative thoughts and ideas! See you there.

Attention—the Student Council Homecoming Dance Decoration Committee will meet today RIGHT after school in room 208. Please try and be on time! Thanks!

Sports Announcements:

Open gyms continue tonight for girls basketball and continue each Tuesday and Thursday night. We will meet in the weight room at 5:45 and hit the basketball court from 6:30-8:00. Current players and anyone interested in trying out are encouraged to attend. See you tonight!

Actors--auditions for Noises Off are today from 3.15 -5. Don't forget to sign up for your slot on the callboard! You need a one minute comedic monologue, an audition time and a love of theatre.

JUNIORS & SENIORS: Are you enthusiastic and knowledgeable about LHS? Would you like to give tours to prospective students and parents? Consider becoming a LION AMBASSADOR! Stop by the counseling office for an application and return it to Mrs. Stulock by Thursday, Sept. 8.

Representatives from two colleges will be visiting this week to meet with interested students in the Counseling Office: Today - Meet with the Creighton University representative from 1-1:30 and on Friday - Meet with the University of Colorado-Colo. Springs representative from 8:15-8:45. Please come to Post Grad.

Lions Share is seeking your help in donating school supplies for students in need in the LHS community. All supplies are welcome especially pens, pencils, notebooks, paper and backpacks. We also need gift cards from Walmart, King Soopers, Target, Kmart, etc. Donations can be dropped off in the Counseling Office or mailed to LHS.
