Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the Freshmen and Sophomore volleyball teams for their wins over Heritage HS last night. Way to go, LIONS!

PLAN (Practice ACT) signups begin Oct. 18 – Nov. 3, space permitting, in the Counseling Office. Test date is Sat., Nov. 5, 7:30 am, at LHS. Cost is $20, cash or check made out to LHS, and students must pay when they register.

• Halloween-o-grams for your special someone!! $1 or two cans of non-perishable food. All the proceeds will go to the Musana Children’s Orphanage in Uganda.
• Pumpkin Carving Contest – after school on Thursday October 27th in the café. Pumpkins will be provided! Just bring your creative ideas!
• Costume Contest for your best, scariest and most creative costumes! October 31st StuCo members will be out shooting pictures of those in costume! Remember to follow the Code of Conduct rules—meaning no full-face masks--and we will see you in your scary best on the 31st!

Attention all Baseball players and anyone interested in playing baseball this season. There will be a short player meeting today in the forum at 2:30PM. See you there!

Boys C Team Soccer, Please don’t forget uniform check-in is this Monday, the 24th, right after school. Time to do laundry.

Juniors/Seniors: LHS is hosting a College Fair sponsored by the Colorado Council for High School and College Relations on Tuesday, October 25. The fair will be held in the cafeteria from 6-7:30 pm and will feature over 50 colleges and universities. Please stop by Post Grad for a complete list of the schools who will be here!

Tickets for Noises Off will be at the box office during your lunch. Cost is $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults, performances will be tonight at 7 pm, and Saturday October 22nd at 6pm!

Remember Cozy Toes Raise Socks For Chemo’s!

The fall play show starts tonight! Buy your tickets for Noises Off at the box office during your lunch. Cost is $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults, performances will be tonight at 6 pm, Friday, October 21st at 7pm and Saturday October 22nd at 6pm!

We will discuss all things Beatles, Mr. Kron will show his pictures of Liverpool, we will listen to music and watch videos of the best group in all of Rock history. You don't need a Ticket to Ride. All You Need Is Love! See you there.

FBLA members: We have our last Stock Market Challenge training this Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 2:20 pm in room 124. You need to attend to help your team choose your stocks and get a few more tips on challenge success. We will have another business professional joining us so please be on time and be ready to work with your team.

Do you have a special friend, a crush, or a boyfriend or girlfriend? If so, send them a HALLOWEEN-O-GRAM—they are only 1 dollar and you get to send a note and a big bag of candy to that special person!! See a Student Council member for your Halloween-O-Gram! If you don’t have a dollar—bring in 2 cans of non-perishable food and you will get a FREE Halloween-O-Gram! All the proceeds will go to the Musana Children’s Orphanage in Uganda.

So, remember to follow the Code of Conduct rules—meaning no full-face masks--and we will see you in your scary best on the 31st!

One way to give hope and warmth to these patients is to provide them with socks to wear. The 4th period advisement group is holding a sock drive for the “Rocky Mountain Cancer Center” to collect sock donations to keep these men and women warm. We will be collecting today, tomorrow and Friday this week. The collection boxes can be found in the Attendance office, Library, and the Cafeteria during A and B lunches. Remember Cozy Toes Raise Socks For Chemo’s!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to your LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band on their outstanding performances at the Legend Marching Band Festival this past Saturday. The band performed in the Prelims and Qualified for the Finals and placed 3rd overall, earning high music scores in the afternoon performance.

On Thursday evening, our LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band performed at the CBA Regionals and qualified for the next round of the State Championships scheduled for this Friday at CSU Fort Collins. Go Band!!

Congratulations to the Lions' Roar Newspaper and the Cor lionis Yearbook. Both publications were given the All-Colorado Award by the Colorado High School Press Association. Congratulations to both staffs; this is a big honor.

Academic Announcements:

We have more college visits this week at Littleton. Today, the University of Colorado at Denver will be here at 9, followed by 5 out-of-state colleges visiting on Tuesday, and others on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, representatives from both Colorado State University and the University of Denver will be at our school. Be sure to sign up on Naviance, and to get a hall pass, to attend.

Seniors, listen up! Some of you are having difficulties with making your Teacher Letter of Recommendation Requests for colleges on Naviance. This THREE STEP process is described IN DETAIL on your Naviance homepage. Be sure you follow the instructions exactly. Otherwise, your teachers will not be able to write these recommendations for you. If you have already made your requests on Naviance, please be sure that you've done it correctly.
