Student Recognition & Congratulations:

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the varsity girls tennis team competed in an eight team regional tournament at Cherry Creek High School.  Only the top two teams at each position earn the right to advance to the state tournament at the Gates Tennis Center later this week.  We are proud to announce that LHS finished second in the region behind Cherry Creek but ahead of Chaparral, Cherokee Trail, Smoky Hill to name the closest competitors.  We are also proud to announce that Katie Pearson qualified for state at 3 singles, Quin Bowman and Lucia Martinez qualified at 1 Doubles, and Rachel Pearson and Destini Marshall qualified at 4 Doubles.  Our 2 Doubles team of Terrell Blei and Lauren Bredar lost a heartbreaking match to Chaparral to qualify for state--they finished third in the region.  Our 3 Doubles team of Briana Mosby and Sydney Harris also lost a nail biter to Cherokee Trail.  Junai Testa, our 1 singles player, finished fourth and Sara Leovic, our 2 singles player, finished third.  Coach Gonzalez, Coach Zolla, and Coach Brooks are filled with pride for what the tennis team has accomplished this year.  Now on to state on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!

Academic Announcements:

Attention all Seniors:  If you have signed a commitment with any branch of the United States Armed Forces (been sworn in) and plan on serving after your graduation, please inform Stacy Geyer in the Counseling Office TODAY.  Thank you.

Seniors, your mandatory Senior Exit Surveys are being conducted every day this week in Post Grad. The survey takes only about 15 minutes to complete, and you'll love it!  So, if you do actually want to graduate this year, stop by Post Grad any time this week to complete your Senior Exit Survey.

Would you like to be a mentor to incoming freshmen?  Do you like making a difference here at LHS?  If so, come to the main office and pick up an Advisement Leader application and sign up to become a LHS Advisement Leader for next year.  Besides working with the incoming freshmen and teacher coordinators, you will also earn 2 credit hours of graduation credit.  We are looking for 50-60 dedicated students who will be Juniors or Seniors next year.  Please turn the filled out applications back into the box into the main office by Friday, May 11th.  See Ms Prestel if you have any questions.

Students taking an AP test you should receive a very important 2012 AP Test Day Instructions sheet from your AP teachers.  A complete schedule of tests along with room numbers and reminders of what you need to bring to your tests is included.  This information is also available on the Counseling tab on the LHS website.  Please see Mrs. Zerr in the Counseling Office with any questions.
