Student Recognition & Congratulations:

In a dynamic display of 'never say die,' the varsity tennis team overcame a 0-3 deficit to beat Castle View 4-3.  And the JV Boys won their second straight match 10-2.  Come see the 2012 tennis players on Thursday against Rock Canyon.  Way to go, LIONS!

Academic Announcements:

SOPHOMORE SHADOW HOSTS: Please complete and return your Lion Cub Shadow Host application to Mrs. Stulock by noon this Thursday. If you still need an application, they're available in the counseling department. Mrs. Stulock will be in touch next week about acceptances and orientation.

Advisement starts this week!!! If you are a freshman and you have advisement on your schedule, you will attend this week. If you are scheduled in period 1, 3, 5 or 7, you will go on Thursday of this week, August 30th. If you are in 2, 4, 6, or 8 you will go Friday, August 31st.  Your Advisement room will be the room you go to during Freshmen elections.  See signs outside the Counseling office if you do not know which room you are assigned.  See you there!!  If you have questions, see Ms. Prestel or Ms. McGarvin-O’Melia!

Attention all 5th period Advisement Freshmen!!!  Your Advisement room has changed--you will be meeting in room 132E for the rest of the year!  Please make sure you go to 132E on Thursday for your Advisement class.

Club Announcements:

Any juniors interested in being a Junior class public relations officer should come to room 132 E today after school to interview for the position.  There will also be a junior class meeting, so if you're an officer or an ambassador, please drop by.

Just a quick reminder about club meeting times: if you join a club that does NOT meet on Monday or Thursday, you will NOT be excused from your sports team or 9th hour class to go to that club.  We have many wonderful clubs here at LHS, so make sure if you want to join one, you manage your time so you can participate in the club of your choice as well as in your committed extracurricular activities.   Have fun!

Interested in Adventure? Last year, the Adventure Ed Club learned about team building, played in the snow with cross country skis, snowshoes, and sleds, hiked Matthews Winters Park & Red Rocks and put on a teambuilding icebreaker for the LHS staff.  Attend a short informational club meeting today at 2:30 in Room 105. If you cannot attend and have interest, see Mr. Vanoni or Ms. Davis.

Attention all students interested in Business and Marketing...The first DECA meeting will be held today in room 124 at 2:20 PM.  The DECA students are excited for another successful year as we begin our quest to make the International conference in Anaheim, CA this spring.  Come see what DECA is all about!

What is Family, Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)? Come and find out at the first meeting of the year tomorrow in room 120 at 2:20.  Ice cream bars will be served.

Want to make a difference in your community? Then come to the Key Club informational meeting tomorrow in room 126 right after school.  Bring your friends! We will be discussing the ways we are going to help throughout the year! There will be popsicles!  See Ms. Race or Ms. McGarvin-O’Melia for details.

HIP HOP Club will meet tomorrow in the Forum from 2:30 to 3:30  Hope to everyone who came out last week and we welcome those of you who would like to come and check out this diverse club.  All are welcome.

The first FBLA meeting of the year is finally here!  If you are interested in being a member of FBLA we will be meeting tomorrow at 2:20 pm in room 124.  Come meet your officer team and find out about upcoming events for this school year.  We welcome new members and look forward to catching up with our returning members!  See you then and don't forget if you are in a fall sport you can participate in FBLA, we work with your schedule.

The Fall theater show this year is Big Love by Charles Mee. If you would like to audition, please attend an informational meeting today after school in room 146. If you cannot attend, please see Kryssi Martin or check the callboard for more information. Auditions will be on 5 September.

Attention Girl Soccer Players!  Any girls interested in playing soccer for LHS next Spring should attend a short meeting on today at 2.20pm in room 133E. You will receive information on preseason, indoor soccer, and training dates. See coach Banfield if you are unable to attend.

The LHS Choirs will be singing the National Anthem at the Wednesday, September 12th, Rockies vs. Giants game at Coors Field.  If you would like to support the choirs and enjoy a Rockies game you can buy a $32 ticket for only $24.  See the LHS Bookkeeper or Mr. Farrell to buy tickets.
