STUDENT BULLETIN


Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to all our Halloween Costume Contest Winners!  The Best Homemade Costume winner was Alexandra Kirby, The Funniest winner was Ryan McCracken, the Scariest was Juliana Metz-Root, the Most Creative as Lindsey Young, the Cutest was Analee Roth.  Please stop by Ms Prestel's office during A lunch or after school for your prizes!
 
Congratulations to FBLA and DECA team members who finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the Stock Market Challenge on Friday at the University of Denver Cable Center!  It was so fun to have such an amazing sweep of the game!  Our 1st place team ended the day with a 2.2 million dollar portfolio!  Way to go FBLA and DECA!

Congratulations to the LHS Speech and Debate team for their outstanding performance at the Cherry Creek Classic tournament this past Saturday. We had 12 Students receive either an Excellent or Superior award! Special recognition to Anna Pirkey and Kelly Dinneen for their top-5 finish in Cross Examination debate. Both Maddie Chandler and Sara Leovic placed in the top 6 in Lincon-Douglas debate. They had great cases and diligently destroyed their opponent's arguments to earn their spot on stage.  We wish the team good luck as they travel to Golden High School this Saturday.

Congratulations to your LHS "Lion Pride" Marching Band who competed in the Colorado State Marching Band Championships this past weekend. The Band Qualified out of the Quarterfinal round into the Semi-Finals on Saturday and finished 12th Overall in the State with their highest scoring show of the season.  Go Band!!!

Attention all Student Council officers, Ambassadors and General Council members, we have a General Council meeting TODAY in the forum starting at 2:20!  Please be there, we need to update you all on Lions Follies and evaluate Halloween Activities!  See you there.

HIP HOP will have practice in the Forum @ 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 6th.

The Peace Jam and Green Clubs welcome anyone who is interested in helping to organize International Education Week events at our upcoming meeting tomorrow at 2:20 in Room 206.   Hope to see you there! 


FBLA members - we have a meeting this Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 2:20 pm in room 124.  Remember that you have to be ready to choose your competitions for districts.  See you then!


Sport Announcements:

 Girls’ basketball players, the season is here!  Don't forget that preseason camp begins this afternoon at 4:00 in the South Gym and runs through Thursday.  Tryouts are Friday, Saturday and next Monday. 

Attention! Girls’ Tennis...Our meeting will be tomorrow right after school in Ms. Fletcher's room 113.

Anyone interested in being a part of Unified Lions Basketball there will be a parent/player/coach meeting on November 12th at 7pm in the Library. Important paperwork, schedules and spirit wear will be discussed. See Heather Stukey, Deana Encinias or Nate White with any questions in 106C. Come be a part - we need you! 


Special Events:

Lions Follies Tickets!!  Do you want to see the best talent in LHS?  How about the funniest emcees ever!  Then buy your ticket to Lions Follies! They are only $5 and you can buy them in the cafeteria during lunches and after school every day except Monday.  All the proceeds go to help out PROM!


International Week Soccer Tournament:  There will be a CO ED, 4 versus 4 soccer tournament in the stadium during International Week. Register your team of 2 boys and 2 girls from any grade, in Room 133E right after school tomorrow. See coach Banfield with questions.

Anyone interested in playing boys lacrosse for winterball and spring season, here will be a player/parent informational meeting: Wednesday, November 7th starting at 6:30 in the LHS Forum.
 

Can you believe it’s November already? That means Lions Follies is right around the corner! Mark your calendar for November 9 and 10th … join fellow Littleton families for an evening of Lions Follies fun! Enjoy a delicious dinner at Delvickio’s Restaurant before the show.  Delvickio’s (810 West Littleton Blvd) will be donating 10% of proceeds to PTO After-Prom. Let them know you are from LHS! Then, enjoy some yummy treats at the PTO Bake Sale in the front lobby at school before or after Lions Follies. You’ll want to bring some extra spending money for delectable baked goodies! Enjoy an evening of great fun, benefitting LHS prom and after-prom. It’s a win-win weekend for all!!! Thanks to everyone for supporting this unique Littleton tradition on the 9th and/or 10th!
