Student Recognition & Congratulations:

The Littleton High wrestling team did a great job last night wrestling against Highlands Ranch and Rock Canyon High schools winning all matches. Way to go LIONS!!

The LHS Lady Lionfish lost their dual meet to Heritage yesterday, 103-83. The Lady Fish JV also were defeated by the Eagles JV, 100-77. Congratulations to the following who qualified for State: Sidney Fitchett in the 100 free, the 200 medley relay team of Hailey Martin, Kelly McCracken, Delaney Ellfeldt, and Sidney Fitchett, the 200 free relay team of Delaney Ellfeldt, Megan Sanders, Cookie Jeter, and Sidney Fitchett, and the 400 free relay team of Delaney Ellfeldt, Hailey Martin, Emily Paton, and Sidney Fitchett. The last dual meet of the season will be next Tuesday against Mountain Vista in our pool.

Academic Announcements:


College Night for Juniors: Juniors and their parents are invited to attend College Information Night for Juniors on Wednesday, Jan. 25th to get a jump-start on the college search and application process. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Theatre, and then moves to break-out sessions for advice on building a college list, financial aid, college entrance exams, and more. Hope to see you there!

You've heard about it. Now experience it LIVE: The Dark Side of Oz! Tuesday, January 24, after school in room 112. Pink Floyd's classic album, The Dark Side of the Moon, syncs up curiously well with the classic film, The Wizard of Oz. Come see for yourself at Rock 'n' Roll club. That's Tuesday in room 112.

Sports Announcements:

Two sporting events for tonight – Girls Varsity basketball team will go up against the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles 7:00pm tonight at Mountain Vista HS and the Boys Varsity Basketball team will meet the Golden Eagles on the LHS court at 7:00pm. Come out and support your great LION teams!

Saturday, January 21st, our LHS Wrestling Team is participating in a tournament at Mountain Vista HS at 9:00am.

Special Events:

Girls, do you have a special person you want to ask out on a date? Winter Dance at LHS is a girls-ask-guys type of dance. It will be held on Saturday Jan. 28th from 8-11 pm and it is a semi-formal dance allowing for students to dress according to the theme of "A Day at the Beach!" Make sure you are dress code appropriate! This is a chance for you to get a BIG group of your friends and go to the dance!! The cost is only $8--so come on out and chase away your winter blues!!

For those who wish to bring a guest to the Winter Dance on January 28th, guest forms are available at student services.

FCCLA will be having a meeting today at 2:20. All members wishing to attend the district conference and compete at State should plan on attending.

Greetings Philosophers, we'll be meeting today after school from 2:30 to 3:30 in Room 102. Anyone is welcome to come by to join in the conversation. See you this Thursday.

CRUSE Club meets after school today in room 144. Does recycling cool junk to make art sound fun? The CRUSE Club is for you! We'll have free cookies and make some jewelry with computer wire and beads at today’s meeting! See Ms. Jeannelle or Mr. Chandler for more information!

Attention all Student Council members---please let Ms Prestel know by the end of this week if you can go on the SAFE Leadership conference on bullying in February. Thanks!

The Unified team came up just short against a very talented Chatfield team last night. Our next game is at home Monday at 7pm against rival Arapahoe.

The Littleton High wrestling team did well at the Douglas County tournament last weekend. James McNally took 1st, Kieran Britt took 2nd, Eddie Flores took 3rd and Sal Gonzales took 4th. The team wrestles Thursday at Highlands Ranch.

Parents, teachers, administrators, students and all art lovers are invited to attend the closing reception on Monday, January 23, 2012 from 5:30-7:30pm.

PRE-IB SOPHOMORES, listen up: There is a MANDATORY meeting about the IB DECISION today, in the FORUM. Come during your lunch period -- either A or B lunch -- to receive information about staying in IB next year. You MUST attend one of these sessions, even if you know you will not be continuing in IB. Important information will be handed out, and you must take it home to your parents. Bring your lunch! Questions: Ms. Anderson or Mrs. Stulock in the counseling department.

Swim Waiver Test at Heritage High School: HHS is offering the swim waiver test open to all LPS students, on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2:30-4:30 pm. Any interested students need to contact Sheri Rossing at HHS, 303-347-7645 before Jan. 18. You MUST signup in order to take the test. The LPS standard district swim waiver test criteria can be found under the Counseling Tab on the LHS website, or by stopping by the Counseling Office.
