Student Recognition & Congratulations:


The Littleton Lady Lionfish defeated ThunderRidge yesterday afternoon 100.5-82.5 to run their dual meet record to 2-0.  The Lady Fish JV also defeated ThunderRidge 105-72.  Special congratulations to Claire Martin who qualified for State in the 200 free and Caitlin Durston who won the 1 meter diving event with a personal high score of 159.95 for six dives.  Coming up will be Ponderosa next Thursday in our pool.

The girls basketball program completed a sweep of Thornton last night in convincing fashion.  The C team remained unbeaten with a 64-4 victory, and the JV improved to 2 and 1 on the season with a blowout win of their own.  The Varsity team ran away from the Trojans with a 69-50 win.  They were led by sophomore Laura Puchino's 15 points, senior Steph Puchino chipped in 12 points and senior Elsie Mangum finished with 11 points.  Way to go Lions!

The LHS boys basketball teams lost all three games last night versus Columbine.  The scores were 77 to 68 for the C team, 54 to 50 for the JV, and 66 to 58 for the varsity.  We fought hard in all three games, but came up short each time.

Academic Announcements:

Students who took the PSAT, Practice SAT, can pick up their results on Tuesday, December 11, at 2:30 in Room 103.  Please plan to stay for a few minutes while Mrs. Gobble reviews how to interpret your results. 

Sport Announcements:

Sports Fans:  Come out to the Denver Coliseum today and cheer on your varsity cheers and poms as they compete in the State Spirit Championships.  Cheers compete at 10:00 a.m. and Poms compete at 1:04 p.m.  Hope to see you there!

Attention Football Players:  The athletic dept is in need of your email addresses.  Please come to office during your off period or after school.

Remember to bring your food items for the Basketball holiday food drive. Food Donation Cans that have been placed at the school's main entrance, athletic entrance and Forum entrance and will also be at all the home basketball games throughout December 2012.  All donations will go to the holiday food baskets that are being arranged by the LHS Counseling office to help LHS Families this holiday season.  Any item brought to the home basketball games will get you $1.00 off your admission to the game.  Go Lions!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to the following choir students who were selected to State and National Honor Choirs!    Genoa Martin, Stephanie Kern-Allely, Cori Reid, Charlotte Grimm, Kat Troxler, Megan Sanders, Anna Sonju, and Erika Remy were all selected to the National Honor Choir in Dallas, Texas.    Amelia Jacobs was selected to the Colorado All State Choir and Stirling Rutty was selected to both the Colorado All State Choir and the Colorado All State Jazz Choir.  Come and enjoy the singing of these students and the other outstanding LHS Choir students at the Winter Choir Concert next Tuesday, December 11th, at 7 p.m.

The girl’s basketball team returns to action tonight with their 2nd home game of the season.  Please come out and support the teams as they face Thornton here at LHS.  The undefeated C team plays at 4:00 followed by the JV and Varsity games at 5:30 and 7:00 as they look to bounce back from tough games against Bear Creek.  Let’s get a big crowd out tonight to support the girls!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

In our first home game last night vs. Bear Creek, the boys basketball teams had two wins and one loss.  The C team lost a close one 64 to 58.  We were victorious at the JV level 50 to 43.   The LHS varsity boys basketball team defeated Bear Creek 61 to 53, which was head coach Dan Ellis' 230th career victory.  The team is now 2-1 heading into our next game versus Columbine.  Way to go Lions!

Schedule adjustments for Freshman is today.  You can see any available counselor and please bring a copy of your schedule.

Club Announcements:

Did you notice the giant snowman outside the Language Arts office?  The one labeled "Giving Snowman!'  If you did, please take a snowflake off the snowman and help out the Children at the Musana Children's Home in Uganda have a wonderful Christmas!  Each snowflake has the age, gender and suggested Christmas gift for the orphans--so pick and choose if you want!  Please  bring your gift (wrapped or not) to the Social Studies office and put it by Ms Prestel's desk by Friday Dec. 21st!  The gifts will be sent to Musana over the holiday break and will make a special child smile on Christmas day. Thanks!

HIP HOP will meet tomorrow after school in the Forum after school.  Remember to bring your boxes and bags of stuffing for the Food drive and the deadline is Dec. 13th.

There will be an INK club meeting in Ms. Fletcher's Room 113, directly after school tomorrow!  See you there!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:


The boys basketball season has officially begun.  All levels had games against Conifer on Friday night at Conifer High School.  The coaches are pleased to announce that we swept Conifer with scores of 68 to 34 for the C team, 68 to 58 for JV, and 75 to 53 for varsity.  The three wins mark an encouraging beginning to the season, led by head coach Dan Ellis.  We are learning what it means to play together on offense and defense.

Join us tonight for our first home game vs Bear Creek High School.  The C team plays at 4:00 pm, JV at 5:30 pm, and Varsity at 7:00 pm.   Come out and show your Lion Pride!!

Academic Announcements:

Schedule adjustments for Sophomores will be today only and for Freshman tomorrow.  You can see any available counselor and please bring a copy of your schedule.

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.  Please use the forum entrance.

Student Recognition & Congratulations:


The Lady Lionfish defeated Castleview/Douglas County last Friday, 96-90 and the JV scored 113-59.  Special congratulations to freshman Claire Martin who qualified for state in the 200 IM and the 500 free.  She also was a part of the state qualifying 200 medley relay along with freshmen Hailey Egelhoff and Claire Tronrud, and sophomore Megan Sanders.  The LHS varsity diving team swept the 1 meter diving event with Caitlin Durston finishing first, Mariah Salas second, and Sarelle Schultheis third.  On Saturday the Lions' swimmers and divers finished 5th in the varsity division and 4th in the JV division of the Arapahoe Relays.  Next up is ThunderRidge this Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in our pool.

The Littleton High varsity wrestling team did well this weekend at the Heritage Liberty Bell tournament taking third place as a team.  Poe Di placed first, James McNally and Sal Gonzales took second, and Jonathon Barron, Zach Kennedy and Aron Pino-Valenzuela took third and Max Madorsky took fourth.

Congratulations to the LHS Speech & Debate team for a wonderful performance at the Chatfield Chill tournament this past Saturday. Lauren Bredar came in fourth overall in the Oratory event.  Additionally, the top two Public Forum debate teams at the tournament were from Littleton! Hannah Poe and Nick Ditter defeated Lauren Sehgal and Bianca Banuelos in a great debate for first and second place. Congratulations again and good luck to the team this Saturday at Cherry Creek High School.

Academic Announcements:

An admissions representative from CSU-Pueblo is visiting Littleton today at 10:30.  Juniors and seniors interested in hearing more about CSU-Pueblo, please stop by Post Grad to get a pass to attend this morning's meeting.

Students who did not get their PLAN tests on November 28, can pick up in the Counseling Office.  Please bring a student ID when picking up your test.  If you have questions regarding your results, please see Mrs. Gobble in the Counseling Office. 

Schedule adjustments for Juniors will be today only, for Sophomores tomorrow and for Freshman on Wednesday.  You can see any available counselor and please bring a copy of your schedule.
