Student Recognition & Congratulations:

National Scholastic Art Awards:   Congratulations to four Littleton High School student artists who received recognition from the 2013 National Scholastic Art Award competition.  Bryan Seibert, Bayley Shane, Jake Thorne and Stuart Brooks received Honorable Mention awards for excellence in the visual arts.  Our winners were selected from 4,200 statewide entries. Their art will be exhibited at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design through March 2.  In addition, Jake's sculpture will be displayed at the Denver Art Museum from March 6 through April 4.

Congratulations to Littleton FBLA on their wonderful finish at the district conference held at Monarch High School February 19th.  You can check out the winners on our LHS Announcement Blog online.

Academic Announcements:

Attention Juniors! Sorry you can’t sleep in next Wednesday, February 27th, even though it's a late start Wednesday, because your MANDATORY “Junior Advisement” session and selection of your classes for next year will take place that morning…Wednesday morning… here at school beginning at 7:20 a.m. Remember, no bus transportation will be provided to get you here for Junior Advisement.  If you have questions, stop by the Post Grad Center.

Club Announcements:

TSA State attendees: Today the bus leaves at 3:15. We hope you're ready, now let’s go get another championship!  See you in the tech lab right after school.

HIP HOP will NOT meet today after school.

Ink Club has a meeting in Ms. Fletcher's room today at 2:15.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will meet today at 2:30 in room 102. 

ATTENTION all Student Council members who signed up to do the Dr. Seuss Read Across America Event, there is a MANDATORY meeting Monday, February 25th in room 209 right after school (note date change).  It will be 20 minutes, but you MUST be there if you want to do this fun event.  Please see Ms Prestel if you have any questions.

 Sport Announcements:

Attention all Wrestlers – Equipment is due today after school in the wrestling room.  See Coach Swanson or Coach Burton with questions.

The LHS Girls Basketball team will take on rival Heritage tonight on the home court!  We'd love to see a full crowd to support our Lions at "Pack the House" Night!  Everyone attending will have a chance to win a brand new HD Television from Best Buy or a free dinner for 2 from Romano's Italian restaurant!  Tonight, 7:00!  Be there to help our Lions bring down the Eagles and PACK THE HOUSE!!!

Attention Spring Athletes: Registration Packets are due today.  Please see Mrs. Gray in the Athletic Department if you have any questions.

Special Events:

Legally Blonde the Musical opens at the end of this month on the LHS Mane Stage. Tickets are available at the box office during A and B lunches,6th period and after school. $7.00 for students and $10.00 for adults, the show opens Thursday February 28th at 7pm! Wear pink when you purchase your ticket and receive $1 off each ticket purchased!

Other Announcements:

A new session of the Littleton Citizen’s Police Academy is set to begin on Thursday, March 7th. We will meet every Thursday for 11 weeks.  This is a great opportunity to learn the operations of the Littleton Police department. If you are interested please stop by and see our school resource officer, Tim Fisher.  If you have friends or neighbors who may be interested have them visit the City of Littleton website.

Blog Announcements:

Athletes interested in playing boys spring lacrosse - A LAX Fundamental Clinic will run through Friday at Goddard Middle School from 4-6PM.  Participation in clinic is highly recommended and it's free.  LAX Tryouts are Monday 2/25 - Friday 3/1 at Goddard Middle School 4-6PM.
Hello everyone! Mark your calendar for Tuesday, February 26 to join fellow LHS parents at Merle’s Restaurant in downtown Littleton. Take the night off from cooking and help our PTO after-prom fundraising efforts. 10% of dinner proceeds will be donated to our April event. Just let your server know you are from Littleton High School. Thanks for supporting after-prom!

Attention to all writers, photographers and artists!!! We need your work. We want poems, photos, art pieces, short stories, essays, song lyrics, anything artistic to put in LHS INK Magazine. Deadline to submit is March 1st. Please email all work to Ms. Fletcher or submit it to one of the various INK submission boxes located in language arts and art classrooms.

Hey LHS parents! After-Prom committee will have gift cards for sale to a variety of stores and restaurants such as Snooze, Romano's and Hollywood Theaters ...just to name a few. We will be selling these at Parent/Teacher Conferences on March 5, 2013, and ALL PROCEEDS GO DIRECTLY TO THIS YEAR’S AFTER-PROM AT BRUNSWICK ZONE!! Help support a great cause (keeping our kids safe and having fun….together!), and treat yourself to a local restaurant, or buy something at a favorite store! Thanks for supporting PTO After-Prom!

Students who are planning to take AP exams can pay for their exams in the counseling office through March 31.  Students must first complete and print a copy of the AP survey on their Naviance account to bring with them when paying for their exams.  You must bring a check made out to LHS or pay cash at the time of registration.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Zerr in the counseling Office.
