Academic Announcements:

Just a reminder everyone, TODAY is a Friday schedule--make sure you go to your classes that are usually on Friday, including Advisement and Math Methods.  Thanks!

Students interested in the ACTS program and concurrent enrollment for the 2013-2014 school year should plan to attend an important, informational meeting on Wed., Feb. 20, 2:15 pm in the Forum. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Puchino in the Counseling Office.

Club Announcements:

Student Council officers and ambassadors, your Val-O-Grams are due this afternoon.  You can put them on Ms Prestel's desk or bring them down to 209.  We are delivering them tomorrow.  Thanks!

FBLA members please make sure that you are turning your permission slip into Mrs. Martin no later than tomorrow!  Don't forget to be at the Athletic Entrance by 6:25 am on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in business attire and ready to compete!  Stop by to see Mrs. Martin if you have questions.  Happy FBLA week!

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes would like to invite you to our club.  We will meet tomorrow at 2:30 in room 102.  If you have any questions, please speak to Mr. Wentz or Student Kaitlin Vick.

HIP HOP will meet tomorrow after school in the Forum from 2:30 to 3:30.

INK Club members, you must be in room 113 tomorrow at 2:15; we are taking our yearbook picture (we had to reschedule from last week, so no excuses).

Attention to all writers, photographers and artists!!! We need your work. We want poems, photos, art pieces, short stories, essays, song lyrics, anything artistic to put in LHS INK Magazine. Deadline to submit is March 1st. Please email all work to Ms. Fletcher or submit it to one of the various INK submission boxes located in language arts and art classrooms.

Sport Announcements:

Attention all runners, jumpers, and throwers, there is an important track pre-season meeting today at 2:30 in room 133E. Please see Coach Brooks or Coach Koepke with questions.

Attention Spring Athletes:  Registration Packets are due NO LATER than Thursday, February 21, 2013. Please see Mrs. Gray in the athletic department if you have any questions.

Special Events:

Legally Blonde the Musical opens at the end of this month on the LHS Mane Stage. Tickets are available at the box office during A and B lunches,6th period and after school. $7.00 for students and $10.00 for adults, the show opens Thursday February 28th at 7pm! Wear pink when you purchase your ticket and receive $1 off each ticket purchased!

Blog Announcements:

Hey LHS parents! After-Prom committee will have gift cards for sale to a variety of stores and restaurants such as Snooze, Romano's and Hollywood Theaters ...just to name a few. We will be selling these at Parent/Teacher Conferences on March 5, 2013, and ALL PROCEEDS GO DIRECTLY TO THIS YEAR’S AFTER-PROM AT BRUNSWICK ZONE!! Help support a great cause (keeping our kids safe and having fun….together!), and treat yourself to a local restaurant, or buy something at a favorite store! Thanks for supporting PTO After-Prom!

Students who are planning to take AP exams can pay for their exams in the counseling office through March 31.  Students must first complete and print a copy of the AP survey on their Naviance account to bring with them when paying for their exams.  They must bring a check made out to LHS or pay cash at the time of registration.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Zerr in the counseling Office. 

Attention Juniors!  Sorry you can’t sleep in next Wednesday, February 27th, even though it's a late start Wednesday, because your MANDATORY “Junior Advisement” session and selection of your classes for next year will take place that morning…Wednesday morning… here at school beginning at 7:20 a.m. Remember, no bus transportation will be provided to get you here for Junior Advisement.  If you have questions, stop by the Post Grad Center.

The Counseling Department would like to congratulate the winner of the Lion’s Cupboard contest, Roy Garcia.  In an extremely close contest between our top two contestants, Elena Mathis and Roy, Roy’s design was chosen by you guys as the slogan for our clothes bank, the Lion’s Cupboard.  Look for Roy’s amazing design on the entrance to the Lion’s Cupboard, the Counseling bulletin board, as well as the school website.  Also, if you are in need of any items from the Lion’s Cupboard please visit Mr. Hahn in the Counseling office. 

Attention all students!!  Do you feel like you can’t talk to an adult in the building when you have something you need to get off your chest? Well, your fellow peer counselors will be leading group discussions every Monday after school from 2:15-3:30 in the counseling office!  Please see Mrs. Zerr in the counseling office if you have any questions.

Hello all LHS families! Mark your calendar now for a delicious way to support After-Prom! Plan on eating dinner at Merle’s restaurant on Tuesday, February, 26 and 10% will be donated to PTO After-Prom party. Don’t worry about cooking dinner for the evening, and help out a super fun cause! Just let your server at Merle’s know you are from LHS…. it’s that easy!!!
