Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to the Lion Ultimate open team on their 10-8 win over Colorado Academy on Thursday.  Check out more Ultimate action as the girls' team plays a round-robin here on Saturday from 10-3.  The open team takes on Columbine here on Monday.

In a closely contested match with Ponderosa last night at LHS, the varsity girls tennis team lost 4 to 3.  Congratulations to our 3 and 4 doubles teams and 2 singles for their impressive wins.  We take on Douglas County HS today in a rescheduled match due to the rain-out on Tuesday.

Academic Announcements:

Junior Meetings in Post Grad:  The Post Grad Center is inviting juniors to small-group meetings during an off hour to learn the Naviance process for searching for schools that might be a good match. Our invitations are delivered to students in their classrooms 1-2 days prior to their meetings. Teachers with juniors in their classrooms: Thank You for your patience as Post Grad Staff and student assistants deliver these notes over the next few weeks.

Attention current 10th and 11th graders - Do you want to make a difference at LHS? Do you like helping others succeed? Are you a leader?  If so, sign up to become an Advisement Leader for the 2013-14 school year!  The application forms can be found in the main office and counseling office.  Once you have filled them out, return them to the boxes in those same offices.  Sign up now and help make LHS be the best school around!

All current IB-TRACK Sophomores - those who will begin IB in the fall – there will be a MANDATORY meeting at 7 pm Monday, April 8, in the Forum. We will focus on CAS -- that's Creativity, Action and Service -- hours, which are an integral part of the IB experience. Bring your parents. Questions? Ms. Anderson or Mrs. Stulock in the counseling department.

Club Announcements:

Today LHS is hosting the Continental League Equity Conference "Express Equity".  Please take time to say hello if you see our guests in the hall.

Hip Hop will meet today after school in the Forum to accommodate a special guest instructor from 2:30 to 3:30.

Are you interested in getting involved with the Day of Silence on April 19?  Come to the art room after school on Monday to learn more.

Guest forms for prom will be available in student services office and main office.

Blog Announcements:

Attention Juniors and Seniors!  Please pick up your after prom invitation from the main office if you did not receive one on your locker.  See you on April 27th at Brunswick Zone for bowling, laser tag, food and more!

LPS Summer School Brochures are available in the Counseling Office.   The enrollment forms must be signed by your counselor and parent and returned to Arapahoe Community College beginning April 8.  ACC accepts checks, credit card or money orders, but they do not accept cash.  Please see your counselor for more information. 

JUNIORS: Mandatory ACT Pre-Bubbling will be held on Wednesday, April 10 in the Forum.  Students with last names beginning A-L should report to the Forum at the beginning of Period 2 and M-Z at the beginning of Period 4.  Please see Mrs. McCombs in the main office with any questions.  The actual test will be on Tuesday, April 23. 

The City of Greenwood Village has an internship opportunity for two or three Junior or Senior year students interested in learning about municipal government.  The sessions will be for this upcoming summer and again during the fall.  Any interested student can learn more about the internship by visiting this link:  www.JerryPresley.com/blog
