Student Recognition & Congratulations:

It's time to give back some spirit to your LHS varsity cheerleading squad as their 2013 competition season begins. Make sure to wish them luck as they head to their league competition tonight at Castle View. Coach Marisa and Coach Summer are so proud. Go girls!!

 Academic Announcements: 

On Thursday, November 7th, we are excited to welcome the Higher Education Access Alliance to LHS.  This is for immigrant families and anyone who would like information on the new opportunities for receiving in-state tuition to college.  It will be held from 5:30-7:00 pm in the LHS library and childcare will be provided.

Schedule adjustments will not be done for second semester until the following dates by grade level:  12th grade: Dec. 2; 11th grade:  Dec. 3; 10th grade Dec. 5 and 9th grade:  Dec. 6.

Club Announcements: 

DECA and FBLA members who are attending the Stock Market Challenge this Friday, November 8, 2013.  Permission are due by TOMORROW.  If you need another copy of the permission slips please stop by room 124.

The Role Playing Game club is having another video game tournament.  This Thursday we will host a Super Smash Brothers Melee tournament in room 113 after school.  Sign ups are posted in the language arts hallway.  If you plan on attending, please bring a non-perishable item for the Holiday Gift Basket Drive.

If you are interested in Model United Nations, please attend an informational meeting in Room 206 on Thursday, November 7th, between 2:20 and 2:45.

All speech and debate team members are reminded that the deadline to sign up for December tournaments is THIS FRIDAY, by the end of our team meeting.

Sport Announcements:
ATTENTION LADY LIONFISH - ALL GIRLS GOING OUT FOR SWIMMING AND DIVING ARE REMINDED OF THE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT MEETING THIS THURSDAY, NOV. 7, AT 2:20 P.M. IN THE POOL AREA.  THE SEASON BEGINS ON NOV. 13TH.

If you are a diver to try to see Mr. Decker before the Thursday Swim & Dive meeting.

Girls Preseason Basketball Camp begins this Thursday, November 7 from 3:00-5:00 and continues on Friday from 5:00-7:00.  Anyone planning on attending tryouts next week are strongly encouraged to attend.

Pre-season Boys Basketball camp will be Thursday from 3-5 in the South Gym and Friday 3-5 in the North Gym.  All players interested in trying out are welcome to attend.

Boys Basketball will have a "Meet the Coach" time following camp on Thursday at 5:30pm in the Cafe.  All players and their parents are encouraged to attend!

Anyone interested in serving as a manager for the boys basketball program should contact Coach Fletcher. Stop by the Athletic Office for his contact information.

Girls Tennis conditioning is cancelled today.

Special Events:

Holiday/Break Food Baskets – We still could use your help!  The Thanksgiving holiday is rapidly approaching, and Littleton High School would like to ensure that every student and their family has a holiday meal.  If you are able to make a food or gift card donation, please bring your items to Josh Hahn in Counseling by this Friday.  Thank you for your generousity!

Don’t forget Lions Follies is this weekend, tickets are on sale in the cafeteria during lunches and at the ticket booth after school. The price is $6 and they are General Admission.

LHS is holding a book drive to support the schools in Lyons impacted by the recent Colorado floods.  Their schools are in need of books appropriate for students in grades K-12.  You can drop off new or gently used books in the attendance office, library or in your language arts classroom starting November 11.  The drive will run through November 22, so there is plenty of time to be part of this flood relief effort!

Be there or be square! See some wonderfully talented LHS students at the unique Lions Follies show on November 8th or 9th! Remember to bring a little extra cash for the PTO Bake Sale, taking place in the lobby before and after Lions Follies. Plan on buying some delicious treats to bring home, or snack on during intermission. All proceeds go to PTO After-Prom. Your support is appreciated!!! (Plus you get to enjoy some delicious goodies!!!)

Test results from the LHS testing day will be distributed to students who took the test as follows:
EXPLORE (9th grade):  Distributed in Advisement classes Nov. 11-12
PLAN (10th grade):  Distributed in Social Studies TOMORROW
Practice ACT (11th grade):  Distributed in Social Studies Nov. 14/15
Students who are absent on the days of distribution can pick up their results
AFTER the above listed dates in the Counseling Office.

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.  Please use the forum entrance.

The third annual LHS Performing Arts Music & Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, Nov 9, 9 am-4 pm, in the LHS South Gym and Cafeteria.  All proceeds from the Craft Fair will be used to further the education of LHS Performing Arts students.  Come and enjoy the live music provided by our very talented Performing Arts students, and wrap up your holiday shopping early this year!

Calling all Littleton Public Schools ice hockey players! Tryouts for the Winter CHSAA season are Nov. 13 and 15 at the Ice Ranch in Littleton at 3PM. Visit www.heritagelpshockey.org for details.

Boys Basketball will have open gym Monday from 3-5  in the North Gym for Juniors and Seniors and 5-7 in the  North Gym  for Freshman and Sophomore.

All students who are planning to participate in Winter Sports must register on-line on the Athletic website and ensure the Athletic Dept has a current physical form for you on file, before participating in the sport. Some students have handed in their physical forms but have not yet registered.
