This is Spring 2014 schedule adjustments week in the Counseling Office. Schedule adjustments for Sophomores is TODAY, Freshman are tomorrow, Dec 5th and make-up day for all grade levels is Friday, Dec. 6th.
Club Announcements:
Hip hop club meets tomorrow after school. We have new choreography to learn and only 6 practices left to learn it! If you would like to perform at the next assembly, your attendance is mandatory. New members are welcome! We meet in the forum at 2:20.
Attention all Technology Student Association members: We have a mandatory meeting on Thursday. We need you there if you are planning on attending state competition. If you can't make the meeting you must check in with Mrs. Wilkins. Bring your filled out paperwork with you. If you need another copy see Mrs. Wilkins. See you on Thursday for the Mandatory meeting.
There will be a Model United Nations meeting this Thursday, December 5th at 2:20pm in Room 206. All students who are interested in participating in the St. Mary's/Kent Denver Model UN meet in January should attend or see Mr. Gordon in the Social Studies Office.
FBLA members please join us this Thursday, December 5th after school as we volunteer at the Arapahoe Santa Claus Shop. We will meet in room 124 at 2:25 pm and carpool to our location. This is a fun community event! See you then!
FCCLA will be meeting this Thursday in room 120 after school.
Speech and debate team members are reminded to attend their practices and Friday meeting this week. Also: sign-up sheets are posted in the Speech Room for January meets.
Sport Announcements:
The LHS Cheer Squad will be competing at the State competition THIS Friday, December 6th. The Lion Cheers are set to perform at 12:20 PM. Come out and support your Lion Cheerleaders!
LHS Poms will be competing at the Colorado State Spirit Competition on December 6th at the Denver Coliseum at 9:40am. We would like to wish the LHS Poms team the best of luck this Friday! Go LHS POMS!
Special Events:
The LHS IB Acting Two Class presents The Adding Machine! Join us for angles, numbers and shadows this Friday at 7:00, Free admission in the theater for a dose of expressionism.
Blankets for the Homeless - The LHS Women’s Ensemble Choir is accepting new and good used blankets which will be donated to the Denver Rescue Mission. Please bring your blanket donations to the Choir Room or give them to a member of the Women’s Ensemble Choir. Donations will be accepted through Monday, December 16th, and then delivered to the Denver Rescue Mission during Finals Week.
Other Announcements:
The Counseling Department will be helping students and families in need during the Christmas holidays by providing families with gift cards to one of the following stores: King Soopers, Safeway, Target and Walmart. If you know of any student and their family who is in need for the holiday please contact Josh Hahn via email at jhahn@lps.k12.co.us or by calling him at 303-347-7722 no later than December 13, 2013. Also, if you would like to make a donation please bring gift cards (please indicate the dollar amount for each card) to the Counseling Department by December 13, 2013. Thank you!
