Club Announcements:


Chocolate Roses are on sale now for $1.  See an FCCLA member to purchase. 

GSA and the Equity Conference planners will be meeting Monday after school in the art room.  Our yearbook photo will be taken at 2:20...don't miss it!

ATTENTION all Student Council officers, Ambassadors and General Council members, we have a General Council meeting on Monday Feb. 4th!!!  This is our first General Council meeting of the new year, so we have lots to do!  Please wear your Student Council shirts because Yearbook will be there to take our picture!  We are also going to be getting our Val-O-Grams to start selling and much, much more!  See you in the forum at 2:20 sharp!!

Hey senior girls!  There will be a SWAG meeting Tuesday, Feb. 5th at 2:30 in the Forum.  Bring spring T-shirt ideas, thoughts on which group you want to be in and which boys you want to SWAG!!  See Kacee Medved, Annie Brewster, or Allie Horvat with any questions.

Special Events:

Did you remember to wear your class t-shirt for today’s Pep Rally?  The Rally starts at 8:50am this morning! Tickets for the dance are on sale today during lunches in the cafĂ© and at the door tomorrow night.  Cost is $8 unless you bring in a NEW pair of socks, then the tickets are only $6. 

A special treat for you!  The DECA store will be open during the dance.  Come by and get a snack - The first item will be free!!

Tomorrow night the dance starts at 8pm and ends at 11:00pm in the South Gym. When arranging your transportation to and from the dance tomorrow, you should have a ride here by 11:15pm--PLEASE.  See you there!

Attention all students!!  Do you feel like you can’t talk to an adult in the building when you have something you need to get off your chest? Well, your fellow peer counselors will be leading group discussions every Monday after school from 2:15-3:30 in the counseling office starting this Monday, February 4th! The first discussion will be an open-floor allowing students to talk about anything and everything. We hope to see you there!  Please see Mrs. Zerr in the counseling office if you have any questions.

Tonight’s the night! Our 2nd Annual Februaryfest Booster Bash at Glenmoor Country Club. We’ll see everyone at 6:00 pm. If you cannot attend, please check out the LHS athletics website and send in your pledge today for the sport (s) of your choice. This is the best way for us to show our support for our student athletes!  Thanks to all the parents, coaches, and faculty who plan on attending and supporting our Booster Club!!! Go Lions!!!

Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Last night at ThunderRidge High School, all three levels of the boys basketball team lost to tough ThunderRidge teams.  We have faced a hard stretch of our league schedule over the past four games.  Friday night we hope to refocus our efforts when we take on Rock Canyon in our gym.  Come on out and support the basketball program on Friday night.

It is Winter Dance time and that means Spirit Dress Up Days!  Today is the 80's-- bright, neon colors and leg warmers!  Make sure you have your class t-shirt to wear for tomorrow’s Pep Rally!  Tickets for the dance are on sale throughout the week during lunches in the cafe.  Cost is $8 unless you bring in a NEW pair of socks, then the tickets are only $6. 

Don't forget, TODAY is the last day to get your Winter Dance guest forms into the Student Services office!  Don’t delay!  Also, make sure when you are arranging your transportation to and from the Dance, it starts at 8pm and ends at 11pm, so you should have a ride here by 11:15pm--PLEASE.  See you there!

Februaryfest is the halfway point of the Booster Club Pledge Drive. Everyone will have the opportunity to make a pledge this Friday to their student’s teams if they have not done so. In addition to supporting our student athletes, there will be the opportunity to bid on some amazing live auction items… a 2013 Graduation Seating & Parking Package and new this year for one very lucky driver out there a personalized student parking spot located at the athletic entrance... Join in the fun of bidding on one of your favorite items!  The deadline for rsvp’s has arrived. If you are interested in foreign cultures, join the International Club!  It is the newest club at LHS!  We will celebrate festivals from different cultures, starting with Chinese New Year which begins on February 10, 2013.  2013 is the Year of the Snake.  The First International Club meeting is today after school in Room 139 - come join us as we begin our journey through culture!

If you applied for newspaper or yearbook, don't forget to sign up for an interview, either today or tomorrow from 2:30-3:15.  See Miss Kron or Mrs. Smith for more details.

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) announced today that they are seeking 40 applicants for their 2013 Youth Academy.  The CSP Youth Academy will be held in Golden, CO from June 9-15.  Application deadline is March 8th.  Please come to the Main Office for more information.

Student Recognition & Congratulations:


The Unified Lions played a tough game last night against the LPS Transition team coming away with a narrow Victory 89-82.  The Lions would like to thank the boys’ basketball team for serving a wonderful dinner, the band, cheerleaders and Poms for making it a very special night.  Next game is Feb 6th at Mountain Vista.  Way to go LIONS!!

Academic Announcements:

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.  Please use the forum entrance.

Club Announcements:

Student Recognition & Congratulations:


Congratulations to Stirling Rutty for his outstanding performance with the Colorado All State Jazz Choir in Colorado Springs this past weekend.

Congratulations to our Lion Speech & Debate team for their outstanding performance at last Saturday's tournament at Mountain Vista High School.  We have another tournament this Saturday at Overland High School, let's keep it up!

•    Lucy Haggard took third place over all for Poetry
•    Megan Sanders also placed third in Original Oratory
•    The team of Lauren Seghal & Sammy Leach took 5th place in Public Forum Debate
•    Cross Examination Debate, the team of Ryan Famigietti & Livvy Fore took fourth place, Anna Pirkey & Kelly Dinneen took third, and Kit Kilroy & Becca Astatke took 2nd place.

Academic Announcements:

We have two colleges visiting our school this week.  Today at 12:15, an admissions rep from Johnson & Wales University will be meeting with juniors and seniors in the Post Grad Center.  Then on Thursday, at 1p.m., a rep from Texas Tech University will be available to meet with students.
