Today is an EVEN Period Day – Periods 2.4.6.8

Special Announcement:

There may be some orange color in the water as a result of the work performed last night.  Every effort was made late last night to drain the discolored water from the system, but as you might imagine in a building this size there are thousands of feet of pipes.  LPS's plumbers assured us this morning that the water is safe for consumption.  The appearance of the water will return to normal soon. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

The Thespian Doll House of Horror was postponed and it is now TODAY from 3-4 pm in the LHS theatre! The Haunted House this year is FREE, however you are always welcome to make a donation to the Thespian Society if you would like to.

Two colleges that have been very popular with Littleton students, Gonzaga University and the University of Wyoming, will have representatives here on Monday to talk with Junior and Seniors. The Gonzaga visit takes place at 8 am and Wyoming at 9:30. Both will be held in the Counseling office.

Attention poets, songwriters, and creative writers!  Come to Solid Grounds TONIGHT at 6:30 for an LPS “Open Mic Night”.  Hear poets from all four high schools share their art at the event, and bring your own words if you want to perform.  The event is free, and will last from 6:30-8:30pm.

All unified partners please turn application ASAP. We will have a parent meeting Monday Nov. 4th at 6:30 in the forum. You cannot practice unless your application is turned in completed.

There is open mat Wrestling on Fridays from 2:45-4 in the wrestling room and anyone is welcome.

Students and staff:  The Thanksgiving holiday is rapidly approaching, and Littleton High School would like to ensure that every student and their family has a holiday meal.  If you are able to make a donation or know of someone who could benefit from receiving a holiday food basket contact Mr. Hahn in the Counseling Department.

Students taking AP courses who are in need of financial assistance should stop by the Counseling Office for information regarding the ESCAPE Grant.  ESCAPE stands for Eliminating Student Cost for Advanced Placement Exams. This is a federal grant program sponsored through the Colorado Department of Education.  There is a Nov. 4 deadline for completed applications to be returned to Counseling.

Sign up for all LHS students for the swim test held at Littleton are in the Counseling Office.  The test is offered on two separate days, Mon., Nov. 11 or Tues., Nov. 12, at 2:30 pm in the LHS pool-DRESSED and ready to swim.  Students must sign up, as space is limited and you must attend the date you sign up for.  The deadline to sign up is Fri., Nov. 8. For further information and a skills criteria sheet, please stop by the Counseling Office.

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Volleyball Team who won the Littleton Varsity Volleyball Tournament this past week-end! The girls won the Championship match as they defeated Fairview High School 14-25, 25-21, 15-13! The championship was an entire team effort! Congratulations ladies on a great finish!

Congratulations to all the students, families and faculty who participated in the Stride on Sunday. Through your efforts we had the greatest high school participation and we received $1,000 for our school  from the Littleton Foundation. This is the third straight year that LHS has won this award.

Sport Announcements:

Girls basketball players; open gym times are changing for the next two weeks.  They will now take place on Monday and Wednesday nights from 5:00-7:00 pm.  We encourage interested players to attend, and remind you that tryouts are on November 13.

If you are interested in wrestling this year there will be an important wrestling meeting on Wednesday 10/30 after school at 2:15 in room 133W.  There is also open mat wrestling on Fridays from 2:45-4 in the wrestling room and anyone is welcome.

Special Events:

TODAY at 2.20PM there will be a meeting in the theatre for anyone and everyone interested in auditioning for the musical CITY OF ANGELS. The meeting will cover the type of show, audition material and the audition date---Nov 12th!

Trick or Trunk Street--do you have younger brothers and sisters?  If so, bring them to our 4th Annual Trick or Trunk Street on Wed. Oct. 30th in the stadium parking lot from 3:30-5:30.  You can let your parents know as well and we'll see you all there!

Costume Contest!!  Student Council is having a Costume Contest on Thursday Oct. 31st and we want the whole school to participate!!  We will be taking pictures in the cafeteria during the lunches for:   most creative, scariest, cutest, best group, funniest and Ms. Prestel's choice.  So, get your imaginations going into over drive and think of an amazing costume to wear next week!  Make sure it is Code of Conduct appropriate and NO full face masks!

Remember those days when you carved pumpkins with your family?  Well, come and relive those great times with your friends here at LHS. Student Council is sponsoring a Pumpkin Carving contest on Tuesday 29th in the cafeteria right after school.  Show off your artistic talent and you can win a great prize AND have your Pumpkin on display in the front lobby the rest of the week.  We'll see you Tuesday afternoon!

Lions Follies tickets will go on sale--ONLINE only--TODAY.  So, if you want a reserved seat, get ONLINE and order yours next week!!  We will be doing regular in school ticket sales starting the week of Nov. 4th.  See you at the show!!

Holiday/Break Food Baskets
Students and staff:  The Thanksgiving holiday is rapidly approaching, and Littleton High School would like to ensure that every student and their family has a holiday meal.  If you are able to make a donation or know of someone who could benefit from receiving a holiday food basket contact Mr. Hahn in the Counseling Department.

Get a jump start on your holiday shopping, and enjoy live music and refreshments with friends, while you browse the unique, hand-crafted accessories at the third annual Littleton High School Performing Arts Music & Craft Fair!  The craft fair will be held on Saturday, Nov 9, 9 am-4 pm, in the LHS South Gym and Cafeteria. If you had your picture taken on Retake Day, your new ID cards are here.  Please see Mrs. Mountfort in the main office to pick yours up.  If you order pictures on Retake Day, the picture order will come to the school the first week of November.
