Today is EVEN Period Day – Periods 2.4.6.8

Student Recognition & Congratulations:

The wrestling team wrestled Legend High School last night:

JV results: In his first match in 2 years Michael Harris won by Fall.

Varsity results: Out of only 7 matches wrestled the varsity squad won 4 out of the 7.
o 145 lbs: Greg Kennedy won by Decision 5-1.
o 152 lbs: Gerard Ruybal won by Decision 3-0
o Heavyweight: Arno Pino won by Fall
o 120 lbs: Poe Di won by Decision 5-1

The Lady Lionfish JV defeated Mountain Vista's JV, 124 - 55.  Also, over the break the 200 medley relay team of Hailey Egelhoff, Claire Tronrud, Megan Sanders, and Morgan Zueger and the 400 relay team comprised of Abbey Vankooten, Lexi Karet, Morgan Zueger, and Claire Tronrud qualified for this year's 5A State Meet.  Claire Tronrud also quali
fied for state in the 100 breaststroke event.  Congratulations ladies!

Sport Announcements:

Our Unified Lions Basketball Team has been invited to play at the Pepsi Center. There will be a Mandatory Meeting Monday Jan 13 @ 2:30 in room 105. All Partners interested in coming to the Pepsi Center must be at the meeting.

 Academic Announcements: 

The LPS swim waiver test will be held at Heritage High School on Thurs., Jan. 23 at 2:30 pm in the HHS pool.  The test is open to all current LPS students in grades 9-12.  For complete information on how to register with Ms. Rossing at Heritage, as well as a criteria sheet on what you need to know for the test, please stop by the counseling office.   Registration is limited, and the deadline to register at HHS is Wed., Jan. 22.

Two college admissions representatives will be in Post Grad on Monday at noon to talk with juniors and seniors.  Find out all about Fort Lewis College in Durango and the Savannah College of Art & Design in Georgia.  Come to Post Grad if you need a pass.

The only schedule adjustments students can request at this time are misplacements, and students can only come to Counseling during an off period for their adjustment.

Club Announcements: 

All speech and debate team members are reminded that there is a MANDATORY meeting TODAY in the Forum to discuss January tournaments.

Blog Announcements:

Students – do you need a computer? If you do not have a computer at home, we have free computers for you. These are refurbished desktop computers, not laptops. They use the XP operating system and are loaded with Open Office; please see Mr. Hahn in the counseling office to receive a voucher for a free computer and/or more information.
