Club Announcements:

The World Club has chosen this Tuesday, February 11th as a day to remember the late former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela. On February 11, 1990 Nelson Mandela was released after serving 27 years in prison for opposing the Apartheid government in South Africa.  Mr. Nelson Mandela followed three rules throughout his life, which he did at great personal sacrifice: 1. Free yourself, 2. Free others, and 3. Serve everyday – it was not just his mantra, it was his way of life. The World Club will be showing two films in the Forum on Tuesday, that give insight into Nelson Mandela's life and efforts to promote freedom, equality, democracy, and reconciliation not only in South Africa but globally. During second block and starting at 11:10am the film: "Mandela: Son of a Nation; Father of a Country" will be shown. During Fourth block and starting at 12:45pm the film: "End Game" will be shown.

Blog Announcements:

Princeton Review is offering an opportunity for sophomores and juniors to take a FREE, full-length, proctored ACT test at Rock Canyon High School on Saturday February 22nd.  Students will receive a free report breaking down their scores. This is an ideal way to prepare for the statewide ACT test which all Juniors are required to take here at school in April.  Check the Princeton Review website for details about registering for the test.  There are a limited number of seats available.

All current 9-11 grade LHS students are invited to attend the ACTS/Concurrent Enrollment Information Meeting on Feb. 13 at 2:30 pm in the Forum.  Concurrent Enrollment is a program that allows dual enrollment between LHS with Arapahoe Community College and Metro State University of Denver.  Please Mr. Puchino in Counseling for more information.
