Student Recognition & Congratulations:

Congratulations to the varsity girls tennis team. They tied for 2nd place at the Littleton Invitational--Every player won at least 1 match, and we were led by Anna Sonju's 1st place finish at #2 singles. Last chance to support the lady lions at home is this Tuesday against rival Heritage--hope to see you out there.

Congratulations to JV tennis players Francesca Petruzzi and Simone Dufrene for making it to the finals at the Heritage JV Tournament last Saturday. Way to go girls!

Congrats to Ian Cox, Rosa Hardarson and Aron Pino who lead the track team in scoring this weekend at the Grandview Invitational!  Check out the track team at the stadium this Friday and Saturday as they compete at the Liberty Bell Invitational.

The JV girls soccer team had a huge 9-0 win over Conifer on Saturday.  Goals by Nicolina Slencovich,  Maddie Diaz, Maddie Fuchs, Lindsey Silverman, Allie Famigletti and Katie Roskam. Luz Torres also had a second half shut out in goal. Come watch the girls take on Chelsea tomorrow at 4.

Congratulations to your LION ULTIMATE teams for a strong showing on Saturday. Currently, our guys team is ranked #2 in the state and our girls are #1!

Academic Announcements: 

Thank you to all the student applicants that auditioned for this year’s graduation senior speaker. We are pleased to announce that Alex Olvera was chosen as this year’s senior speaker. Congratulations and Great Job Alex!

Seniors who have not yet ordered their cap & gown from Jostens and who would like to borrow one, please see Mrs. Railey in the Counseling Office TODAY. Please note if you are borrowing a cap & gown, you will need to purchase a tassel.  Thank you!

ACT testing for all Juniors will happen Wednesday morning.  Classes for all other students begin at 11:15. Wednesday afternoon will be an even period day.

Special Events:

Come out on Tuesday, April 22nd to help clean our school and celebrate Earth Day. World Club will be hosting a school clean up. Meet us in room 206 to get your assignment. There will be CAS hours rewarded to any IB junior or senior. All are welcome!

PROM Dress Shop & Swap will happen again on Tuesday in room 151 after school.  All girls are invited.

The lip dub is being filmed after school at 2:25 this Wednesday. Make sure you find your club, sport or activity on the map on the cafeteria windows before filming starts. We want all students in the school to participate, so find a way to get involved.

Friday is our spring sports pep assembly and we want YOU to wear your class t-shirts!! If you still need to pick yours up or buy one for $5, see Ms Prestel in the Social Studies office sometime before and she will get you a shirt! We want to see you all in school colors for our awesome assembly!

Club Announcements: 

Student Council officers, ambassadors and General Council members, there is a General Council meeting on TODAY in the forum starting at 2:20.  We will be talking about officer elections next year, prom and forming our last set of committees--see you there!  Also, make sure you bring in any Quilt Raffle tickets that you have sold, the final due date for selling them is May 5th.

DECA members, please remember there is a group meeting after school this Thursday in room 124 to elect our new president.  Please be to the room by 2:20 for speeches to begin.

PROM Announcements:

PROM tickets are on sale now.  Tickets will be sold out of the bookkeeper’s office during BOTH lunches. The price is $40 for all Juniors and non-LHS students.  All seniors are FREE!

After-Prom Party at Brunswick Zone!  Tickets will be on sale for $10.00 each on Thursday & Friday the 24th & 25th during lunches outside of the Cafeteria.  Remember - you don’t have to attend Prom to go the After-Prom Party!

Raffle to help Prom--check out the quilt hanging in the library; it is being raffled off to help with the cost of Prom this year!  Tickets are $2 for 1, or $5 for 3 for this gorgeous quilt--which was made out of our LHS class shirts--every year is displayed!  Find a Student Council member or Ms Prestel and buy your chance to win this amazing quilt today!!  The drawing is on May 16th.

Blog Announcements:

Students, please note that the price of the school breakfast and school lunch will increase on Thursday, May 1st.  This is due to a federal mandate; we are mandated to increase the price.  Breakfast will cost $1.75, Lunch will increase to $3.00.

The Writing Center is open weekly on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30-2:30 in the Library.

The DECA store will now be open from 8:30AM to 10:00 AM each day for LHS students to shop.  This will be the only times to get your tasty DECA store treats.

For students needing help in Math & Science Lockheed Martin tutoring will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00-7:30pm in room 107.  Please use the forum entrance.

Attention all current Sophomores and Juniors, we need YOU to sign up to be an Advisement Leader!!  We have extended the due date of the application until April 25th, so if you are interested in being a Leader, then go online to the LHS website and fill out an application as soon as you can!!  Being a Leader in the Advisement program will earn you 2 elective credits, CAS hours and a chance to make a difference in an incoming Freshman's life.  So, sign up today!!

To the Parents of Juniors and Seniors: after-prom is a PTO sponsored event that is open to ALL LHS juniors and seniors. Students do not have to attend prom in order to go to after-prom,  and the more the merrier! All juniors and seniors can purchase tickets to after-prom and have a great time with their friends at Brunzwick Zone.
